There are many important features of vacation. It is not an option but a compulsory measure that has to be taken while traveling anywhere whether it is your own country or whether it is abroad.

To have an uninterrupted vacation you need to keep a count of the things you should be careful of. Especially children being sensitive you have to take extra care when it comes to children.

Some of the things you should be careful of is knowing what can causes allergic reactions, taking extra care if you have undergone any operation, making sure you carry your medicines as prescribed by your doctor.

Having a First Aid tool kit is a must have on a trip or a vacation, Some of the medications are prescribed skin creams, pills, bandages, wound cleansing lotion, lots of Cotton, carrying hot water bottle, carrying your own medicines that are prescribed by Doctor, if at all you get allergic to anything, you know what to do!

Now, a First Aid tool kit is not the only precaution that you need to take, wherever you go, you have to be very watchful and protective of your family, avoid places that are vulnerable and can make you a victim. Keep your valuables intact on you, so that you are not a victim of robbery. Make sure that you do carry something to protect yourself from maniacs. And one of the recommendations will be eye spray. Eye spray will not harm the person completely but at least make him or her aware that you can defend yourself.

When traveling with children, children get excited when going on vacation so make sure that they do not put themselves in vulnerable situations where it would be hard for them to come out of.

Avoid legal difficulties; you should follow the law no matter what. There are families who have gone on vacations and have broken the law of where ever they have been and had to pay a great deal for it. So make sure you follow the legalities of where ever you are.

Terrorism is spoken of nowadays, make sure that you stick to your own family and just be friends with those people in the vacation that you feel you are confident of.

Terrorism is spreading all over the world, so it does not mean that you can’t be safe in your country if you choose to go on a vacation at home. Be wise and you should have a very good judgment about recognizing people that you are around while vacationing. In all following some of these guidelines have the best vacation ever!

Perfect New Baby Gifts - How To Pick Up Newborn Baby Gifts And Avoid Purchasing Duplicates

136a

Often, people get frustrated by tons of new baby gifts and products sold through Walmart or K-mart.

But they absolutely have no idea how to pick up the right choice!

I sure understand that the birth of a new baby is an exciting time for any family.

But hey, people who are not parents usually have a more difficult time choosing new born baby gifts, right?

If you’re one of them, you’re not alone.

I have to tell you that knowing what to buy for a new baby does not have to be challenging. To give you a hand, I list 5 options below you can consider if you really want to avoid gift purchasing duplication.

1. Baby Swing

Once a baby is born, new moms have very little time for themselves.

The baby must come first. Diaper changes, feedings, playtime, and colic can eat up the majority of a day’s hours. For some people, dinnertime became a nightmare. Their children would scream as soon as the scent of dinner filled the air. The infant swing is the only item in which you could place the screaming infant and manage to wolf down dinner.

2. Baby Books and Videos

Every new baby needs early education. If you still remember those chunky wooden blocks from yester-year we all played with, a “ABC” baby book would be a perfect choice for your baby. I know there are new baby gifts of 26 chunky board books, one for each letter of the alphabet, in their perfect carrying case. Each book introduces children through words and images, planting the seed for their first creative juices.

For video product, I suggest the Baby Shakespeare from the BabyEinstein Collection. It’s an engaging exploration of vocabulary common to infants and toddlers through the words of twelve master poets and the vision of a master photographer.

3. Baby Toys

When looking for new baby gifts for any young child, you should not always get educational or fun toys. Some toys should stimulate their minds and help them develop their intellectual skills. The other toys should revolve around simply playing.

For example, my daughter’s kitchen set has lots of food and dining items. She’s grasped a concept of setting a table and what foods go with what foods. She’s developed an imagination and likes to play “pretend” now as well. I adore watching her.

4. Baby Monitors

Do you know why baby monitors are great devices allowing you to keep an eye on the little one while he/she’s sleeping? If you have a baby of your own, you know exactly what I mean. We have to say when it comes to our babies, we can never be too cautious in the home.

If you’re shopping around for baby monitors as new baby gifts, it is wise to check online. Tons of reviews are offered on these new baby gifts. However, to find a good monitor, you don’t have to break the bank. There are reasonably priced baby monitors found online and in baby stores as well. You want a product that will get the job done, but you needn’t go overboard.

5. Baby Sling

The last item that you could not have lived without is a baby sling.

Many children are clingy infants who hate being put down. A baby sling can help your back out while carrying around an infant all day, and it keeps the baby happy and quiet. When shopping for new baby gifts, definitely look into baby slings with good shoulder padding.

Final suggestion: When it comes to new baby gifts, think outside of the traditional box. A unique and unusual gift for the parents will ensure you won’t be copying someone else.

Cruise travel from ports close to home is what passengers want now. In almost all of the cruise reviews, cruise travelers have expressed concern with long airline trips to distant lands. Now they want to cruise from ports that are close to home to enjoy a less stressful cruise vacation. The cruise lines have caught on to this trend and are now positioning their ships up and down the United States East and West Coasts and along the Gulf of Mexico. Let’s explore the ports of embarkation on the West Coast starting in Southern California at the port of San Diego and go northward.

If you can take the time before or after your cruise travel, spend some extra time in San Diego. The city of San Diego is blessed with year round warm weather and seventy miles of Pacific Coastline. There are many activities to enjoy while in the city. They have a first class, world famous zoo in Balboa Park. At Old Town State Historic Park learn about the History of California. Near the downtown area there are 15 excellent museums and gorgeous gardens.

A little further up north is Long Beach just 20 miles south of Los Angeles. Here is where the Queen Mary retired to in 1967 and is permanently docked serving as a Hotel. With more 12,000 sea creatures the aquarium is a delightful spot to spend a couple of hours.

If you plan to take your cruise vacation out of Los Angeles there are plenty of sights to see. A pre or post cruise package from the cruise lines will allow you to see the many cultural centers or drive by the star studded neighborhoods of Malibu, Bel Air and Hollywood. Be sure to see Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Chinatown and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Visit funky Venice Beach and dine in the many excellent restaurants. And don’t forget to at least window shop on Rodeo Drive.

The dazzling Golden Gate Bridge will be what you sail under on you cruise vacation from San Francisco. Many cruise reviews have mentioned this city as one of the favorites from which to start a cruise. You may opt to take a side trip to the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma Valleys for a day. While in San Francisco check out Fisherman’s Wharf, or take a cable car ride through the city. In this city there are numerous excellent restaurants. There is a ferry that will take you over to Alcatraz Island for a glimpse into the life of the prisoners.

Perhaps you have chosen Seattle, Washington as your embarkation port. The lovely Puget Sound area is rich with history of the maritime industries. The Olympic Mountains will leave you feeling awed when viewed from the Space Needle that is 607 feet high. For fun don’t miss the Pike Street Market for fresh seafood and produce. There are many fleets of sport fishing boats for fishing or for whale watching.

Even further up the coast you are now in Alaskan territory. Fairbanks, which was once a booming mining town, is the entrance to Alaska’s interior. If you stay here for a day or two try a really Alaskan adventure and go dog sledding. Maybe you would like to pan for gold, another part of Alaska’s history. If you want to see the Northern Lights plan your cruise vacation for late August or early September.

Choosing a cruise vacation out of Whitter, Alaska will allow you to go whale watching, and look for sea lions and bald eagles. This is a small quaint town that really lets you feel what Alaska is all about.

You will fly into Anchorage for departure from Seward, Alaska. Try to stay a few days to explore the riches Anchorage has to offer. There is the beautiful Denali National Park, where Mt. McKinney offers spectacular scenery. In Seward you can take a cruise to the Kenai Fjords as a day trip.

Any of these cruise ports will make a great start for your cruise vacation. So when planning any cruise travel pick a port that’s close to home and leave some time for exploring the town of embarkation.

The Secret “Why” For Writing

addthis_pub = ‘articlecity’; addthis_logo = ‘http://www.articlecity.com/images/addthis.png’;addthis_logo_background = ‘ffffff’;addthis_logo_color = ‘000000′;addthis_brand = ‘ArticleCity.com’;addthis_options = ‘email, favorites, delicious, digg, facebook, fark, furl, google, live, myweb, myspace, newsvine, reddit, slashdot, stumbleupon, technorati, twitter, more’;

“The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.” — John Stuart Mill

When to write? Where to write? What to write? How to write? These four simple questions prompt enough complexity in their answers to fill articles and magazines, books and libraries. They stimulate enough interest and mental energy to fuel casual discussions and writers’ groups, conferences and university courses. They hint at profound mysteries and hidden wisdom, secrets known only by the literary elite, the potential for sudden insight and heretofore elusive discoveries.

We think about these questions. We dream about them. We talk about them. We listen. We read. We ponder and then we try to push the questions away so we can focus on the hundred more important things we absolutely have to do. We try and then there we go again. We think about these questions. We dream about them. We….

Is this behavior normal? Is our preoccupation with when, where, what, and how within the acceptable range so we don’t have to guard against others learning our little secret? Sad but true. It’s definitely not normal and is so unimportant that it falls far outside any range of interest to most people so it doesn’t even make it on the scale where acceptable and unacceptable issues are considered.

I randomly stopped twelve people and posed the questions to them. When should one write? Where should one write? What should one write? How should one write? Three just stared, shook their heads, and walked away. Four didn’t bother to shake their heads. That left five, two of whom asked, “What are you talking about?” Of the remaining three, two said, “Whatever,” and the one still seeming interested thought for a few seconds and said, “It would be easier to just leave a voice mail. Why do you want to write anything?”

Why? Why do I want to write anything? Here I am worrying, nigh obsessing, about when, where, what, and how and then the one person in a dozen asks why. How frustrating is that? What do I say to someone who thinks that leaving a voice mail is preferable to writing? It might work if I can write the message and then read it onto the voice mail, but maybe not.

It’s tempting to dismiss the why question as the query of an idiot but, of course, it is much more fun to write about it and certainly we all know about the attraction of fun. Let’s take another pass at those four questions and add the why question to the list just for fun.

I’ll take a few editorial liberties with the questions since it’s my piece and we all know about editors and their taking liberties. I’ll start with what to write. The best advice as measured by how many times I have read it is to write about what you know. An alternative thought worth considering measured by my experience is to write about what I don’t know but really want to know. When I have done enough research and have given it enough thought so I can clearly explain it to me, writing about it is fun.

Sure, I know. You got me there. When I write about it, it’s writing about what I then know. Those writing gurus, they always seem to get the last word.

Maybe the going will go a tad easier with the where question. Measuring by how often I have read it, the best advice is to have a quiet place where I won’t be interrupted and everything I need is at hand. — Not in my lifetime. — Do you realize how organized I would have to be to pull that one off? Suffice it to say that, if I wait until I achieve that level of environmental control and self-discipline, writing would be merely one of those “wish I had” laments. I’ll have to be satisfied with wherever the keyboard is and hope for the best. Maybe I will find the piece and quiet somewhere inside me.

When to write? The writing gurus strongly recommend a regular daily schedule. That’s just fine so long as they don’t mean every day at the same time for the same amount of time or even most days at about the same time for nearly the same amount of time. You don’t suppose they mean that, do you? Sad but true. That’s exactly what they mean and they are very serious about it. It’s sort of like responsible drinking. Only have one or two drinks, always after 5:00, and then doing it most days should work out okay.

Unfortunately, I happen to be one of those binge writers. I can go for weeks without so much as a complete sentence and then there is a day or a week or a month where I can hardly stop writing long enough to get anything else done. Sure, I come staggering back to reality sooner or later but the binge has to run its course. Is it an addiction? Is it a compulsion? Is it an obsession? I don’t have a clue but know that it’s way too much fun to stop or to want to stop. I’ll just keep bingeing.

That brings us to the how question. This may be the most guru-answered of the four questions. The obvious advice is to decide what you want to say and then say it, in writing. Perhaps the next most obvious advice is to write what you think you want to say and then read it. It probably isn’t quite what you had in mind so write it again. Maybe by the third or tenth or twenty-fifth pass at it, you will read what you want to say. There you go. You’re a writer. It’s sure fun, isn’t it?

That does it for the what, where, when, and how questions. Nothing to do now but take a crack at that why question. Here we go. It’s not profound and I already let that cat out of the bag. I’m a binge writer, am having too much fun to stop, and way too much fun to wonder why. One of the twelve people in my survey came up to me later and asked, “You spend a lot of time writing but what else do you do?” I didn’t hesitate, “I write and then everything else is research!”

Family Vacation Deals

e86

Ah, the family vacation. It can strip of you every ounce of patience, and leave you strapped for cash. When all is said and done, you’re left feeling more stressed than you were before taking your holidays!

Maybe there is another way. To be sure, traveling with the entire family can be expensive and hard to plan; but there are some holiday destinations that will actually help you get great family vacation deals.

Family Cruises

Cruises are awesome choices for family getaways. There are plenty of deals available, when you know where to look. Search the Internet for cruise websites and you can stumble upon a good deal on a great cruise for your family. Some cruises offer discounts for certain age groups, like “kids stay and eat free” with paid adults. These are the deals that you should watch for. Other package deals can include family-friendly tours and extras, like Disney cruises.

Florida Vacations

If Florida is your idea of a great family vacation, you’re in luck. There are great family vacation deals available for all sorts of Florida destinations. Some packages will include free tickets to the most popular tourist spots, like Universal Studios and theme parks. Many hotels included in package deals will provide free meals for kids–and anyone with hungry mouths to feed will know what a huge saving this can be. Most Florida hotels are kid-friendly and welcome families by offering discounted rates and kids’ activities.

Air travel

Ask questions when you book your airline tickets. While they may not advertise it, some airlines have deals for young passengers. You may save half or even the full price of your child’s ticket when you purchase yours. Other airlines offer special rates for kids under a certain age. These savings can really add up, particularly if you have several children.

Many travel agencies, resorts and airlines offer promotional periods when they will accommodate your entire family for one great price. These special packages are generally offered once or twice a year as a means to promote their businesses. Ask around to see which companies will be offering special family promotions, and when they will be available. If you’ve already booked your time off, don’t be afraid to adjust it if it means saving a few hundred dollars.

If you are still in the preliminary stages of booking your holidays, find out where the family vacation deals are. Locate the big bargains; narrow them down to find the ones that suit your family’s needs and fit your budget, then decide together. Some agencies and resorts are so family-friendly, they’ll offer tips and tricks to help you find the biggest savings. Do a little research before you book. The time you spend looking for family vacations now will pay off in big savings and a holiday that’s truly fun and relaxing.

Las Vegas: A Great Group Travel Destination

addthis_pub = ‘articlecity’; addthis_logo = ‘http://www.articlecity.com/images/addthis.png’;addthis_logo_background = ‘ffffff’;addthis_logo_color = ‘000000′;addthis_brand = ‘ArticleCity.com’;addthis_options = ‘email, favorites, delicious, digg, facebook, fark, furl, google, live, myweb, myspace, newsvine, reddit, slashdot, stumbleupon, technorati, twitter, more’;

Most people have heard that Las Vegas is Disneyland for adults. What you might not know is that Las Vegas makes a great group travel destination for your next group tour, company retreat, multi generational family vacation or destination wedding.

With over 1100 flights a day landing and departing from the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, transportation to your destination should not be a problem for anyone in your group. Over 125 cities offer direct flights to and from Las Vegas as well. Shuttles from the airport to Strip and Downtown hotels are plentiful and inexpensive. No matter when the individuals making up your group arrive, they will have no trouble getting from the airport to their hotel on their own with a few friendly tips before they leave home.

Upon arrival at their hotel, if their rooms are not ready, you will find friendly bell staffs that are willing to keep their bags for them until check in time. This makes it convenient for travelers to decide what time of the day they would like to arrive in Las Vegas. By planning your first group bus tour, group event, or group meal later in the evening or even early the next day, your group has time to arrive on a schedule that works for them and they wont feel as if they have missed out on anything by arriving later in the day if they need to due to personal or airline schedules.

No matter what kid of budget your group has to work with, there will be plenty of dining and hotel options to choose from. If you are planning group travel for a student group of college students, you will be interested in a different Las Vegas vacation than a multi generational family vacation group. An upscale, luxury minded travel group will be able to find the perfect group travel vacation as will the budget minded group tour leader. Dining options run the gamut from a menu of over 30 items for under $1.00 to a gourmet, 5 star meal prepared by one of the countrys fines chefs.

When it comes to activities, motor coach tours, bus tours or walking tours are all viable options for groups with numerous attractions or group tours to choose from. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Valley of Fire State Park, and Hoover Dam can all be enjoyed on a group bus tour as well as a tour to the Grand Canyon, just six hours away with lots of optional tours and excursions available for your group along the way.

Groups traveling with kids (or kids at heart) might enjoy a bus tour of roller coasters and theme park like attractions. Any group would enjoy a night time bus tour of the neon lights Las Vegas is famous for.

With the multitude of hotels, dining choices, and bus tour options, planning your group travel itinerary may seem overwhelming. I always recommend looking for a company that specializes in planning group travel when it comes to planning such a multi-faceted trip. Companies like Exploring America for adult groups or Adventure Student Travel for college student groups can take care of all of the finer details, many times get you better prices, and leave you stress free and with nothing to do but pack your lucky rabbits foot for your fabulous Las Vegas vacation. Good luck!
