What’s For Dinner?

July 5th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

How many times have heard that or asked that or asked yourself the same question? If you’re anything like me, I got so tired of making the same old things week after week. Cooking became a chore. I was as bored with my cooking as my family was. Cooking was not on my list of favorite things to do.

Going out for dinner is always nice. But boy, has it become expensive! I love to eat good food, but just hated to cook it. I also got tired of spending a fortune for it. That was when I found the most amazing cook book. Now my kids are even chipping in with the cooking. They can’t wait to taste the mouth watering food we make. We all get together to try new recipes. It’s a great way for my kids to learn how to cook, too.

Have you ever wondered how to make Kentucky Fried Chicken? Now be honest, haven’t you always wondered what their secret recipe is? I sure have. Now I know. How about Apple Bee’s Baby back Ribs? Or Olive Garden’s Fettuccine Alfredo with bread sticks? One of my favorites is Red lobster’s Shrimp Diablo. We used to make a couple of trips a week at least, to Taco Bell. Now we make their Nachos and Buurito Supremes ourselves. We never run out of new recipes to make and they taste just like they do in the restaurants. The only difference is, we are having much more fun making them ourselves and saving a bundle of money to boot!

If you would like to learn how to cook amazing dishes at a fraction of the cost, it’s not that hard to do at all. Your friends and family will think you are the best cook ever. Believe me, I know. All of my friends ask me for the recipes and say their husbands are amazed with my cooking. They want me to be their cook. I just tell them their wives can cook the same foods just as easy as I can. Or, if you want to, you can keep your recipe book a secret and have everyone totally amazed with your cooking. Cooking can become a great hobby instead of a drag.

CHOICES, CHOICES, CHOICES that’s what lifes journey is all about CHOICES!

July 5th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

For many things, this is an easy and empowering concept to embrace. Someone asks you out to dinner. Do you really want to go? You decide yes or no . You’re at choice. Someone asks you to do something you DON’T want to do. Again, you’re at choice… yes or no

But let’s get down to the choice of becoming healthy. DO YOU have a choice to become healthier? YOU sure do have that choice but why is it that our society is getting fatter and fatter each time we watch the news and tv.

HMMM! After all isn’t it our choice to stay fat or do something about our body fat, OUR LIFE, OUR DESTINY OUR FAMILIES FUTURE?

In life we got 4 choices to each and every decision we make, lets take a look at these 4 choices.

CHOICE #1 - STAY in the perspective of I don’t have a choice WHILE RESISTING or RESENTING the original commitment. This is a CHOICE.

CHOICE #2 - Make a new agreement. I’m big on keeping my word, however I believe it’s even MORE important to be at choice . And, often times creating a new agreement is best for YOU.

CHOICE #3 - Explore alternative resources. When we’re locked into I don’t have a choice , we’re less likely to explore alternative resources or to accept help from others. Set aside your ego and the need to be significant . Give up the notion of something having to be hard. Be WILLING for it to be easier. It doesn’t always have to be a struggle. Be at choice and open yourself up to the alternatives. Ask a powerful question. One of my friends is always asking, How can this be done more easily and efficiently? Funny thing is, there is usually an easier way if we’re open to it, and she is ALWAYS finding a way.

CHOICE #4 - ALIGN with your original CHOICE and DECIDE to ENJOY it or at the very least ACCEPT it. FIND SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOUR CHOICE - the challenge of it, working with a team, using your creativity, the feeling of accomplishment when the task is complete, knowing you’re a person of your word, learning and growth opportunities, or simply CHOOSING to follow through and give your best. I’m not suggesting you PRETEND, or that this is always EASY. I am suggesting that even in the most challenging of situations there is ALWAYS a way to RE-FRAME things within yourself and re-align with CHOICE if you’re open to that possibility. Focus on what excited you about the project in the first place. Focus on what following through with your choice will give you.

So here we are and we have made a CHOICE to become healthier and live life to the fullest capacity we can live it to.

As discussed earlier we do have a choice to stay fat or be a healthier and leaner person.

We choose to over eat, not exercise, eat poor choices of food, not drink enough water, are you getting the picture yet? Is this you? Most of population is like this, so how can we change our beliefs and start believing in ourselves that we can become leaner and healthier? To give you an idea what we need to do there are some words that I keep on repeating on a daily basis.

“In your heart lies the key,
That unlocks your desitiny
Look within and we’ll find,
everything we’re longing for”

The answers lie within you, each one of us has the power to make the choices that WILL CHANGE OUR LIVES, and in most cases it can be a positive result within a few days of just focusing on changing your beliefs and BELEIEVING IN YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN CHANGE NOW!

There is a quote that I love and it has become a affirmation for some time to keep me focused here it is.

‘The mind can assert anything and pretend it has proved it.’ DH Lawrence

YES it is mind over matter.

Take charge of your health now before the fat takes charge of you, your life and everyone else around you.

MAKE THE “EASY” CHOICE AND MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES FOR TODAY! FOR A HEALTHIER, LEANER BODY TOMORROW!

Remember if you think that any choice is hard, IT WILL BE HARD, THINK ITS EASY AND YOUR LAUGHING DOWN THE ROAD OF SUCCESS OF A LIFETIME.

YOU CAN DO IT, JUST DO IT, YOU WILL SUCCEED, THIS IS EASY, I AM WORTH IT!

Ayurvedic Medicine - Salient Features Of Ayurvedic Treatment

July 5th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

Ayurvedic medicine is one of the oldest traditional systems of health and disease management. The history of ayurveda goes back to thousand of years. The primary goal of ayurveda has been twofold - promotion of health and managing the disease. Come, let us explore the salient features of this great system of health, lifestyle and medicine of Ayurvedic medicine.

One of the most beautiful features of ayurvedic treatment or ayurveda is that it is not merely a therapy or system of medicine. Ayurveda is essentially a holistic approach toward life, health and disease management. Ayurvedic approach includes the judicious use of medicinal herbs, minerals, diet, lifestyle, spirituality and yoga.

Ayurveda has been the pioneer for maintaining the holistic approach in Medicine. Ayurvedic principles are in the foundational role for this holistic approach in Medicine.

Ayurvedic treatment is based on personalized regimen for every individual. God and nature created each one of us in a unique way and Medicine should regard our individuality. Ayurveda stands for our individuality in theory and in practice.

The personalized approach of Ayurvedic medicine is manifested in several conditions - when we consider the conditions of ayurveda doshas or humors and select the ayurveda body types, when we choose herbs, when we consider age and time of treatment, when we consider the geographic location of the person, when we advise food and lifestyle, when we evaluate the individual physical and mental tolerance and during practically dozens of other situations.

Some medical authorities attribute the emergence of Social and Preventive Medicine totally to Modern Medicine. Ayurveda right from its inception uphold two basic purposes - enhancement of health and prevention of disease. There are guideposts regarding diet, daily regimen, hygiene, immunity boosting and rejuvenation.

Ayurveda considers the appropriate treatment to that management which relieves the disease and doesn’t cause any other disease as a result of treatment. This is brought about through balancing the qualities and synergistic planning and formulation of medicinal herbs. However, getting side effects free treatment is the toughest objective for any system of therapy.

Rejuvenative treatment is given so much importance in Ayurveda that out of eight branches in ancient Ayurveda, one was fully devoted to rejuvenation, anti-ageing, promotion of health and geriatric health.

Ayurveda considers each individual as a physical, social, mental and spiritual being. For social integrity, ayurveda supports both moral and spiritual principles and teaches that they are essential for the health of society.

Ayurvedic panchakarma therapy is meant chiefly for purification of body. Panchakarma helps to detox our body thoroughly. The effect of proper diet and herbal supplements increases substantially after purification therapy.

Ayurvedic herbs are the chief therapeutic agent in Ayurveda. Natural medicinal herbs are great healing agents with very little or no side effects. Most of the uses of Ayurvedic herbs are being validated by modern herbal research. Some of the toxic and poisonous herbs are used after their purification when they are free of their harmful effect.

Several minerals and animal products are also used in India in Ayurvedic treatment. These minerals and animal derivatives are purified and undergo special calcination processes. Calcination procedures increase their bioavailability and free them from harmful effects. The use of ayurvedic calcined minerals is not much popular outside Indian subcontinent.

The world as a whole is underway to understand and use these preparations as latest technologies like HPCL studies, clinical research trials report, toxicity reports, Nanotechnology are affirming their safety and efficacy.

Ayurvedic treatment includes diet, exercise and lifestyle as an integral part of treatment. So there is plenty of advice on what to eat, what to avoid and about lifestyle and exercise.

Health is the dynamic balance of the body parts and their functioning. And it should be the goal of every individual to be responsible for one’s health because health is the foundational to all kind of pursuits in our lives.

Ayurvedic medicine helps individuals and the entire society to lead a healthier and happier life. Start living a healthier and happier life.

7 Tips For Moving Day

July 5th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

Moving Day can involve so many emotions - excitement, elation versus nerves, panic and sadness. Here are some tips to lower the stress levels on moving day.

1. Have your mobile phone charged up! There you are waiting for the call from your solicitor to tell the money has been transferred, you can pick up the keys and you then realise your mobile phone isn’t working. Or worse still, the money has not been transferred and there is a problem. Make sure that you can be contactable throughout the day.

2. Pack, pack, pack. Don’t leave it too late. Especially if you’ve lived in your house for a long time. As you sit down to pack you may be tempted to sort, sort, sort which might end up to reminising over the family photo album. Of course that’s all very nice, but with so much packing to do, it’s the wrong time. Alternatively have the packing all done for you.

3. Be ready for the removal men. The beds need to be dismantled if appropriate, the cushions need to be bagged up, not left on the sofa. Mirrors and pictures need to be protected. The removal men may add extra protection to some items, but not all. Again consider having the packing all done for you - it costs more but it’s easier and good for stress levels.

4. Keep your most precious items packed in your own bag and take them with you as hand luggage - they may get lost or broken in the packing and removal process. Though it is unlikely it is possible and why risk it?

5. Don’t pack the hoover and basic cleaning equipment. When the removal men have gone you may need to give the house a quick hoover and wipe over ready for the new occupants. Moving in to a dirty house is grim. Hopefully the occupants of your new house will have done the decent thing. Again, you could have this done for you as part of a packing and removal package.

6. Be sure you have everything you need to have your favourite refreshments handy: be it beer, tea,(mugs and milk too), biscuits ready (and a tea towel). You might just need a cuppa after the removal men have left and your home is an empty nest. And when you arrive at your new house you’ll know where the kettle is amongst the boxes.

7. At the end of the day, enjoy your favourite take away and a bottle of champers on top of the boxes in your new home. On second thoughts, splash out at your new local restaurant instead. You’ve made it.

Stopping the Impossible

July 5th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

World War II ended more than sixty years ago. Its veterans are now as old as their World War I predecessors I remember from Armistice Day assemblies designed to hold our young minds still on the fact that these conflicts were real. They involved sacrifice, huge loss, and human triumph over a seemingly insurmountable enemy. But it was this second War to End All Wars that held the most horrific of secrets, revealed as Allied troops liberated German concentration camps. The secret was the Holocaust, a measured, intentional plan to destroy the people deemed unworthy for inclusion in Hitler’s definition of a perfect world. If the British had not been able to hold off a steady flow of German air raids, if thousands of ordinary people had not hidden their Jewish friends and neighbors, and if the United States had not entered the war, the world would surely be a different place today. The simple fact is that Hitler most likely would have succeeded, and we would not be safe.

We would would know what the people of Darer feel tonight.

Darer is located in the Western section of the African nation Sudan. African Muslims living in this region are facing annihilation by pro-government troops and Arab militias. Ethnic cleansing, a term with which we have become all too familiar in recent years, is being used again to describe this first genocide of the twenty-first century. People driven from their homes and off their land are now being stalked, then raped and murdered by their tormentors each night as they try to gather wood for campfires to cook food for their children, the ones who escaped with their lives. Their siblings were not all so fortunate. Between 200,000 and 400,000 people are already dead. Those camped on the border of neighboring Chad also face the soon-to-arrive rainy season. Their journey is far from over, and home is only a distant memory.

The rallying cry since those World War Ii death camps were discovered has been two fold: If we had known we would have done something, and, Never again.

We now know, and we must act. As ordinary citizens, as people of faith living in a country that claims a moral stand on individual rights, we must do more than was done for the people of Germany, the people of Cambodia, and the people of Rwanda. We must act before this time of mass killing escalates further. We must act before this slaughter becomes a distant, irreparable memory. We must remember the days of old, consider the years long past; ask your father, and he will inform you; your elders, and they will tell you (Deuteronomy 3:27). We must remember, and we must take these memories and be empowered by them, outraged by them, and we must act. We must act, out of faith in God, and love for our sisters and brothers who need us.

Stop Genocide rallies were held across our nation this past Sunday, April 30, urging the Bush administration to take stronger action to end the violence in Sudan’s Darer region. Thousands of people converged on Washington to add their support. The rallies have passed, but the need has not. We can still let President Bush, who clearly stated that another genocide would not occur on his watch, know that we want to help the Sudanese people who are suffering. We can tell our friends, notify our congresswomen and men, our senators and let the White House itself know that what is happening in Africa is wrong, and that it must stop.

We see all too clearly the hatred that has bred this violence, but let us also see what love the father has given us that we should be called children of God, and that is what we are (I John 3:1). Let us see this love, and act on it.

The Christmas Robin

July 4th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

The humble robin is a traditional Christmas symbol in the UK, the colourful bird often depicted on our festive greetings cards and Christmas gift wrapping. We also use little robin decorations to trim our Christmas trees and our Christmas cakes or chocolate logs. It’s hardly surprising that we cherish this pretty, cheerful little bird as part of our Christmas festivities because he is so colourful and most other birds have migrated to warmer climates. And during our long bleak winters it lifts us to hear the chirpy song of the festive robin.

However, there is more to this chirpy fellow then just cute Christmas cards of him posing on snow covered post boxes and nesting in old copper watering cans.

Robins live through out Europe (Except the far North) and Western Siberia. We notice an increased number of robins in the UK during our winter months as robins in colder climates move to warmer wintering gathering grounds during the autumn.

Robins who live in close proximity to people can become rather tame, especially towards avid gardeners. Some cheeky robins have learned to take advantages of unearthed worms caused from gardeners digging and turning the soil.

It has also been discovered that robins can fish. Not for large fish though, the robin itself being only 14 cm and weighing between 14 and 21 grams. Robins can hover and dive for fish in shallow waters.

Male robins are very territorial and sing to proclaim their territory, what sound like a cheerful winter song to us is actually a warning of occupation to other robins in the area. Robins will fight to defend their territory.

Robins mate and nest in late March. The female robin builds a nest from dry dead leaves and moss in crevasses in trees, wall cavities or in under growth.

Because robins don’t build traditional nests with twigs and sticks and instead simply line holes and crevasses is why we hear tales of robins nesting in old watering cans and wellington boots.

The female lays between 4 and 6 small white to slightly blue speckled eggs which she incubates for 2 weeks.

At two weeks old the robin chicks can fly. By this time the father robin feeds his offspring for a further 3 week until the chicks become independent at around five weeks old, meanwhile the female rears her second brood.

Chicks are not born with the trademark vibrant red breast feathers. They shed their chick feathers to make way for their splash of red on their breasts.

Not many robin chicks get to show off their new red feathers with pictures poses on top of snow covered post-boxes or pine-trees because more than a half of the chicks die during their first year.

However, robins can live up to the ripe old age of 5 years, which is something to sing about.

So spare a thought for this festive little bird this Christmas time because he works hard for his living. Maybe leave them some tasty Christmas treats on your bird table, some bacon rind and a stuffing ball. And maybe leave out a few old terracotta plant pots for a homeless female robin looking for somewhere to build their nests.

Massively Multiplayer Online Games

July 4th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

The most important aspect of a game that inspires more gamers to play it is the amount of challenge it provides. The best way of making a game more challenging is to make it multiplayer. Because Artificial Intelligence in computer games has not reached a point yet where it can predict every kind of move you make and also every kind of player, they are easy to beat once you understand the patterns they follow. In multiplayer games however, you get to play with and against other gamers, and each time you play someone new you face a new kind of challenge. Owing to this fact, the game developers came up with a new category of games. This category is Massively Multiplayer Online Game or MMOG and enables thousands of players to join and play the game simultaneously via the internet.

There are some MMOG’s these days that have servers all around the globe connected to each other, enabling gamers to interact and play each other from every corner of the globe. Most MMOG’s create a persistent universe where the game goes on whether any player is online or not. Since however, it stresses on multiplayer gameplay, they usually have Artificial Intelligence, to allow the game to be played in single player mode and people do not leave if there is no other person online.

Unlike single player games MMOG’s do not have an end point in the game. They are modeled in a way that the game goes on and the characters within it develop like real life. Only a few MMOG’s have a winning condition that too based on the standings of the players after due time the game has been played.

MMOG’s are able to support thousands of players online simultaneously. Because of the diversity of gamers playing these games from around the globe and the amount of detail the game developers put into these games, they are very challenging and filled with endless new experiences. Some MMOG’s allow clans to be formed, so people can form their own groups of gamers and compete with other groups. This makes the game even more challenging as each clan tried to overpower the other clans.

MMOG’s are most suitable for gamers with loads of free time as they are quite addictive and time consuming. However, for any gamer who appreciates game details and quality, MMOG’S are heavenly.

Be Committed!…You’ll Never Be Famous If You Don’t Show Up!

July 4th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

Everyone wants to be famous: live in a mansion, drive a sports car, tour the world in your private plane, date a model, float around in the pool while collecting royalties for CD sales, and drink beer right out of your private tap. But not everyone is aware that, with any career that has the potential to end in a bounty of riches and beautiful babes, climbing your way to rock stardom is very hard work.

So, how does your average musical genius go from penniless Pop Tart-eater to Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? How do you move on up from mom’s garage to a deluxe apartment in the sky? What’s your first baby step on the Yellow Brick Road to fame and fortune? That’s simple…be committed!

It sounds silly, but many a musical boat has sailed with a crestfallen unsigned artist standing confused on the dock, for lack of nothing else but follow-through. Commitment to your deeds and plans is the single most essential skill towards achieving your goal of Ultimate Superstardom. Entertainment is a fickle business and chances don’t come along every day. One missed opportunity now could have spiraled into dozens even hundreds of opportunities down the line.

It may be true that talent is a gift you carry with you from birth, but commitment is a learned skill that you need to hone every day. So, how can you make sure that you’ve got what it takes to gather up your supreme musicality and conquer the universe with it continuously?

The following are a few tips that may help you to make sure that you’re truly committing yourself to your musical career on a daily basis:

1.) Follow Up On All Leads—No matter how insignificant they may seem at the time, it’s important to follow up on every musical lead that’s thrown your way. Letters, calls and emails should be answered politely and in a timely fashion. New contacts should be logged in your address book for future correspondence. Opportunities should be taken, invites accepted, and chances to network relished. By starting out with just these simple rules you’ll watch your resources and mailing list grow. Suddenly you’ll have music community friends with which to share your leads and ideas, ask advice, trade experiences, and combine talent and energies. Through these friends, you’ll meet new friends and fans and from them even more new connections. Soon, you’ll have so many opportunities that your concern will change from lack of opportunity to lack of time in the day to pursue each new chance.

2.) Just Show Up—Sounds so simple it’s stupid, but you’d be surprised how many talented people have fallen by the wayside because they were unable to simply show up. Cancelled gigs, forgotten meetings, and missed auditions say to the Musical Powers That Be, “I’m a huge flake who doesn’t think your opportunity is worth a half-hour of my precious time.” This is a really bad thing. Entertainment is a small town with a huge memory. Don’t give people any reason to think that you’re not the person they want to work with, give the job to, book for the gig, sign to their label, write about, talk about, and help any way they can. Remember there are tens of thousands of musicians waiting to take your place, so step up to the plate and seize each chance with optimism and enthusiasm.

3.) Take Initiative—Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you. The world is a virtual cornucopia of information, so reach out and nab yourself some chances at stardom. Comb the internet, join music communities, visit open mic nights, take classes and workshops…put yourself out there where there are cool musical happenings and let others know that you can be relied upon and want to be involved. By going out and seizing your own opportunities, you may double, triple, etc. your resources and chances, and expedite your journey to success.

4.) Do The Best Job You Can—As important as it is to show up, it is also essential that you come off efficient, talented, and professional when faced with a new opportunity. Being there is half the battle but the other half is being the best that you can be and impressing industry, press, clubs and your fellow musicians enough to make them want you to be involved in anything and everything they do. Make a commitment to put on the best live show possible, to have a terrific CD, to make a professional presskit, and to spread the word about your music. Be punctual, be courteous, be positive and be fun. Don’t give anyone any reason not to work with you again and you’ll see that it becomes easier and easier to get what you want for your artistic career.

It really is as easy as simply showing up, following up and giving it your all. Making it in music is not impossible; it’s just a lot of elbow grease, a little organization, a bit of strategy, and the simple sculpting of your talent into a marketable commodity. There are thousands of chances offered every day to musicians…reach out and grab them by the handful, make every opportunity your own, get everything you want from this business and when you’re richer than Oprah and more famous than Madonna, remember that it was you who made it happen. You were a pro. You showed up. You committed.

July 4th, 2008 by roseannasblog628

People are flocking to the internet by the millions, seeking a way to make money online. Some are only looking to make extra money to help pay bills, provide for their children’s college, or supplement their retirement. Many are seeking to make enough money to quit their job and make a fulltime living from home.

While all these goals are certainly achievable online, you need to know the facts about making money online. Without knowing the facts, you will be victim to the myths and lies that are prevalent in this industry.

The Facts:

If you are new to internet marketing, full of hope and excitement, you may not want to hear this, but 95% of all internet marketers fail. Is it really that hard to make money online? No, but it’s not that easy either. The good news is that you can be part of the 5% that are successful.

But you need to know why 95% fail, and more importantly, you need to know what the other 5% do differently to succeed.

So why do 95% fail? Well, there are many reasons people fail online, but here are the top 3 in my mind:

Ignorance: People simply have no clue how to make money online. There is a huge learning curve in this industry.

Can you imagine what would happen if hospitals recruited surgeons off the street without experience? What would the mortality rate be? At least 95%! Starting an online business without knowing what you are doing is the same thing. Ok, so nobody looses their life from a failed business. But you could easily loose your life savings. You should make educating yourself in this industry one of your top priorities.

Lack of Driving Desire: Many people dream of the financial freedom they can have through their own online business.

But few are ready to make the commitment necessary to realize their dream. This business takes work. It is an emotional rollercoaster full of ups and downs. If you don’t have a real burning desire to drive you through the obstacles and challenges, you will not make it. Rate your desire to succeed from 1 to 10. If you’re not at least an 11, forget it.

Now I’m not trying to frighten you out of your dream, but you need to be honest with yourself. This is a great business. It not only rewards you with financial freedom, it really develops you personally as well. The best reward this business gives is the person you become in the process.

But you have got to want it so badly that you will do whatever it takes to succeed.

Disillusionment: People fail when their unrealistic expectations are not met. They become disillusioned and quit. In fact, the only way you will ultimately fail is to quit.

As long as you keep learning and applying what you learn, you can ultimately succeed. This is the key to success in any endeavor. But the minute you quit, you fail. So don’t quit.

Now let’s talk about what it takes to have a successful home business online?

Essentials for Success:

Education: I know I already mentioned this, but it is that important. Building an online business without knowing what you are doing is like performing surgery on yourself.

You’re going to get hurt. I’m not saying you can’t do anything until you learn everything. In fact, a big part of your ongoing education will come from doing.

Simply invest time and money in your education as you go.

If you are going to use traffic exchanges, learn about how to use them effectively. If you are setting up an auto responder, read what you can about auto responders and how to write an effective series. And if you are going to use Google AdWords, you had better learn how first.

Don’t deprive your education because you don’t want to pay for a book, course, guide, or whatever. If you learn just one thing from a course that helps make you money, then that one thing will be worth far more over time than the cost of the course. One of my favorite sayings goes, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance”.

Mindset: Your thoughts are real things, and they are powerful! But they can destroy you just as easily as they can serve you. Invest in a copy of Napoleon Hill’s best seller, Think and Grow Rich. Read it. Successful People are always reading.

You need to learn to control your thoughts and emotions in this business. You need to be positive. You will face many disappointments and challenges on the road to success. It really matters whether you believe you can succeed or not.

Because whichever way you believe, you’re right.

Never blame someone else or some program for your lack of success. Take ownership of your success. Your success is entirely dependant upon you.

A Hot Product or Service: This may seem obvious, but if you are going to be successful, you need a product or service people actually want. It needs to be something of real value. Stay away from fads that only last a short while.

You don’t need your own product or service. You can sell someone else as an affiliate. Or you can build a business reselling digital products. Whichever way you go, it’s important to due your due diligence. Research the demand for your product/service.

A Target Market: This goes hand in hand with a hot product/service. If there is a demand for what you are selling, then there is a market. But who is your market.

Who would want your product? It is important to identify or “target” your market as precisely as possible. Otherwise, you will waste valuable resources marketing to people with absolutely no interest in your product or service. Don’t try to sell steak to a vegetarian.

Define your market by asking questions. Some questions to ask are: What’s their gender? How old are they? What do they do for a living? How much money do they make? Where in the world do they live? Define your customers as completely as you can.

That’s your target market.

An Effective Marketing System: Now that you have a hot product, and have identified your market, you need an effective means to bring the two together. I’m not going into a discussion of all the different ways to market a product online, but I do think it is important to understand what an effective marketing system is, and how to develop one.

An effective marketing system is one that gives a reasonable return on investment (ROI). It not only needs to produce results, it needs to produce enough results to justify continuing with it. Also, your marketing has to be geared towards building your list of contacts. You will here a million times: “the money is in the list”. Building a list of contacts is not just important to your business; it is your business.

Set a marketing budget and stick to it. As you begin to make some profit, reinvest it into your business and increase your marketing efforts. Make a plan designed around your budget.

There are many free and paid ways to market. Decide on a mix that fits your budget.

Also, set a schedule and stick to it.

Setting a schedule with well defined tasks will help you to stay focused and increase your productivity. Don’t over do it. You don’t want to try and build Rome in a day. Don’t neglect your home, while building your home business. Once you have your plan, work it consistently.

Domain Name and Hosting: Even if you are planning on selling someone else’s product as an affiliate, you will want to invest in a domain name and hosting. Your domain is you own address (URL) on the internet. I recommend GoDaddy.com. Their prices are very reasonable, and the service is excellent.

Once you have your domain, you will need to host it someplace.

I recommend using Host4Profit. They have excellent customer service, and an easy to use control panel, all at reasonable rates.

Now why would you need a domain and hosting if you are selling someone else’s product? You will eventually want to use Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. PPC search engines will not allow you to advertise someone else’s site. You will need to set up a landing page that will send your visitors to your affiliate page.

You can also design and host splash pages for traffic exchanges.

You can set up email addresses on your domain, which will help give you a professional look.

Bottom line is, if you want to be successful online; you will eventually need your own website. For a great deal on your own website, click the link in the resource box at the bottom of this article.

Myths:

Get Rich Quick: Many people think that they are going to get rich quick online. It takes the average person 3 to 4 years before they start to make any real money online.

Do you have to spend 3 to 4 years to make real money online?

No, you can do it much quicker if you know how. It’s just that it takes the average person 3 to 4 years to learn how.

It also takes time to develope a large network of contacts and steady traffic to your website.

The simple truth is that building a long lasting, profitable business online takes time and effort.

You Have to be a Computer Geek: You don’t have to be a computer geek.

However, you should have basic computer skills. I would also suggest investing a little time in learning HTML. What is HTML? HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the language that browsers read.

Websites and many emails are written in HTML. You don’t have to master HTML, but a basic understanding is very helpful.

You Have to Invest a lot of Money: You don’t need a lot of money to get started. You do of course need a computer and an internet connection.

But beyond the hardware, you can start for next to nothing. However, to reach your goals you will need to invest more money.

The key is to focus on your plan and stay in your budget. Expand your budget as you begin to earn some money. Reinvest everything you earn at first. This way you can start a business on a shoestring budget and use your earnings to build it big.

Lies:

Money Without Work: There is no such thing. Even a crook has to work to rob you. Here’s a very true saying: “The only place you can find money before work is in the dictionary.” An honest business requires an honest effort.

Scams: There are all kinds of scams out there that prey upon the desperate, ignorant, and greedy. It is important to do the proper due diligence before joining any money making program or service. Here are a few tips to help you spot and avoid these internet lowlifes:

One thing that should get your B.S. alarm ringing is outrageous claims.

We all know that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Yet we still fall for wild promises. If someone tells you that for a price you can make $10,000 in a month, RUN. If they guarantee it, RUN FASTER. Evaluate claims with your own good sense, and don’t let greed get the better of you.

Another sure sign of a scam is if there is no real product or service of value.

Whenever you talk about multi-level marketing, someone always asks the question: “Isn’t that a pyramid scheme?” The truth is, almost all effective organizations, whether business or government, are pyramid shaped. This is so for the same reason wheels tend to be round. It really is the most efficient structure.

What makes a pyramid scheme a scam, is that there is nothing of real value flowing down the pyramid, only money flowing up. Everyone at the top makes money, everyone else pays for it. I only deal with programs that offer a product or service that I find valuable.

Check their customer service. Send an e-mail, or call them. If you get no response, run and never look back. Even if you get a response, what kind of response was it? Was it timely? Did it answer your question adequately, or did it just refer you to a FAQs page? The hallmark of an honest, well run business is great customer service.

Check their reputation. Check with the Better Business Bureau, and see if there have been any complaints filed against them. Also checkout what the forums have to say about them. You can do a search on the program to find posts that mention the program in question.

You need to use a little discernment here. Remember, 95% of all online marketers fail. They fail because of laziness or lack of knowledge. When they fail, many of them blame the program and blast it in the forums. So if one or two people cry scam, it may just be a case of sour grapes.

Well I hope this is of help to you in your quest for success. Remember, anyone can be successful online, if they will follow 8 simple rules:

1. Study to learn everything you can about this business.
2. Apply what you learn.
3. Set realistic long and short term goals.
4. Make a plan to achieve those goals.
5. Work hard towards executing your plan.
6. Stay positive.
7. Be consistent.
8. Don’t Give Up.

See you on the beach!
