Make Your Wedding Favors for Cheap!

The question most brides-to-be or couples getting married have is “How do I make wedding favors for cheap?” Before I begin to answer this question, I want to establish one thing. When using the word cheap, it doesn’t mean that you’re not giving it all you have. You’ve already spent a lot of money to make this day perfect. Therefore, here are some cheap or inexpensive ways to make wedding favors. Save yourself a little money, you could even use it on the honeymoon!!

Here are some really cool ideas to save money and get two things done at once:

• Flower Arrangements

Make a small flower arrangement for each table setting. This can serve as both a favor for your guest and decorations for the table. You can normally find little glass containers at Wal-Mart or the Dollar Store for pretty cheap. Add some of your favorite flower(s) or a flower of your favorite color. You can even make it seasonal depending on when your wedding is. Have fun! Be creative!

• Candles

I know, everybody suggests candles for wedding favors. But find your favorite shape or scent and give each of your guests a small candle. This will make it personal for your guest. It will tell your guest you wanted them there and make them feel special. Use tulle and/or ribbon to make it more festive!

• Small Frames - One of my favorites!

You can find small frames and make them place card holders. Each of your guest will have a frame to take home with them. If you don’t want to assign seating, put a special message or quote in each frame. Your guest will have a special way of remembering you!

• Wine Glass Markers

Make wine glass markers with some wire and beads. Then find a small box and wrap ribbon around it. You need one for each guest. It will also be helpful to keep each other’s wine glasses separate!

• Personalized CD of you and your fiancée’s favorite songs!

You can buy CD’s at Office Depot, Staples, Wal-Mart, etc… for cheap. Then decide on 10 or so songs to put on there. Burn them to the CD; attach a label or write on each one. You can buy “print-on” labels wherever you buy the CD’s. Then give each guest one! It’s a cool personal gift.

You can pull off your big day and save some money. Don’t make it look cheap either. Make and create your wedding favors for cheap!! You can do it!! Remember to have fun and be creative!!!

Website Building Mistakes You Should Avoid

If you happen to have a website (or plan to build one shortly) this is a must-read. A website should offer customers with useful information that can actually help find solutions to their problems. When I used to search for home businesses, I got sick and tired of poorly designed websites shoving awful products and countless links down my throat; there was no explaining on their behalf and no advice given… all I saw was an “order now” button. A website should offer customers value and convenience because that is what they are looking for.

So you must keep in mind that you are designing a website to help people; not to deprive them of their time and hard earned cash. Many people make the mistake of not having high quality content on their site-and instead they litter their site with links and clunky banners.

Bottom line… quality information comes before all.

Questionable Navigation

Too many sites have dismal navigation setups. This is a huge mistake. Never make the error of having poor navigation on your site that would even make Sherlock Holmes scratch his head. It makes it confusing and hard to surf through (most likely forcing the visitor to leave). Just take a look at my website; it may not have fancy graphics or a slew of irrelevant pictures, but it gives you what you need: valuable information presented with a simple setup. Simplicity ultimately allows visitors to easily find what they are looking for.

I was once (and still am) a customer, so I know what it feels like arriving on a website flooded with link after link… you just don’t know where to click next. You feel paralyzed and never find what you’re searching for.

Unnecessary graphics

You should also try to avoid using graphics unless they are absolutely necessary. Fewer graphics soak up less bandwidth, allowing for faster load times. So unless you absolutely need it, don’t place too much graphics on your page. While heavy pages may not be a problem for those who have broadband, you can’t assume everyone has broadband services–some still have high-speed dial up, and for them it is a pain.

Make them come back for more

Give the customer a reason to come back to your site. You must make every reader of your website remember your site’s uniqueness. Show your personality and make it a great experience for them. Avoid the mistake of coming across as being “too formal” and “boring.”

Other common mistakes Web designers make that should be avoided…

It’s important for you not to spam-this can get you banned from the search engines. You should also keep good records and remain well organized. Always make sure your income (i.e. affiliate commissions, reseller sales, Google Adsense) exceeds expenses (Internet bills, pay-per-clicks, the cost of the computer you own, products you buy to grow your business, web hosting, domain name, etc.).

Never lie to your readers: honesty is the only option.

Apparel And Equipment In Sports, Fitness And Recreation

These days there are many big brands that cater to sports, fitness and recreation enthusiasts. Nike catapulted to number one when they hired basketball legend Michael Jordan to endorse for them because at the height of that advertising campaign everyone indeed wanted to be like Mike. They continued their reign and reinforced their being number one when they chose golf’s amazing newest star then Tiger Woods as another endorser.

Adidas is also another leading brand whose latest campaign celebrate originality showcased their collaborations some of the best designers in the world. These brands not only battle in coming up with innovative products, getting the more popular image model or launching award winning advertising campaigns but they even have their presence felt in the movie industry.

In 2000, the movie What Women Want starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt was a big hit. The story is about an advertising executive who one day woke up being able to read women’s minds. True, the actors and the plot make for a good movie but Nike gained so much from this movie.

There is no better way to present a new way of thinking in terms of women’s shoes that are great in all areas- sports, fitness and recreation. The movie explained the whole process that Nike had to go through to come up with one product. Just in case you are wondering, the Nike ad representatives in the movie were not actors they were really from Nike and that now Nike has an entire line for women simply called Nike Women.

Adidas, on the other hand, had Goal. Goal is the success story of this small town boy who made it big in the soccerlandia. While more subtle than Nike, the movie stressed that Adidas is number one in football. Nike can claim their throne in the world of basketball but soccer or football will always have Adidas as its number one shoes.

Sports equipments are more easygoing on their Ads, not much brouhaha, it is simply all about the quality of the equipment. Players sporting them are almost usually number one in their fields but they are not required to be as marketable as their apparel endorsers’ counterpart. The point being the best players in their respective fields uses us so if you decide to use as then you can end up number one as well. They are more scientific in their approach owing to details more than just the overall impact.

Is a Chihuahua the Right Dog for You?

The answer to this question lies in getting to know more about these little dogs. Chihuahua dogs are the smallest of all breeds. Most weigh in at 6 pounds or less and they only stand about 6 to 9 inches tall. They come in a variety of colors and have both long and short hair. Understanding the aspects of a Chihuahua’s personality and needs can help a person determine if this is the right breed of dog for them.

A Chihuahua is a delicate looking dog. It is born with a soft spot, like humans, but in a Chihuahua the soft spot may never close. They are very energetic and love to play. If left alone a chihuahua may tear into anything they can rip apart, like toilet paper or other trash. They have a natural tendency to become attached to one or two people whom they are become very loyal and protective. Chihuahua dogs love attention. They also have a long life span, up to 16 years. Due to their small body size they are not very good at tolerating cold temperatures. They also require minimal grooming, only needing one bath per month and an occasional brushing. They can be hard to train, but once trained are very well behaved.

These traits of a chihuahua make him ideal for some owners and not so ideal for others. They are great for those who live in an apartment or other smaller, restricted area as they do not need a large space for exercise.

They are not good with children because of their delicate and nervous nature. Also they do not get along with other breeds of dogs, so a person with other pets would not make a good owner for Chihuahua puppies. The best owner for a chihuahua dog is an adult without other pets or children, who can devote plenty of attention to it.

The Origins of Babydoll Lingerie

Have you ever wondered where or what the origins of babydoll lingerie are? Well, look no further! The babydoll - sometimes spelled baby doll or baby-doll - can trace its origins to the short bed jackets trimmed with lace and the wide variety of bed capes worn by women in the 1930s and 1940s. At the time, a babydoll nightgown had a hemline that came to about 6 inches above the knee. Most still do today.

The name “babydoll” is said to have come from a 1956 movie by that name (”Baby Doll”), which starred Carroll Baker as a 19 year old virgin. The style of nightgown worn in the movie soon became popular amongst the general public.

Later, the babydoll was transformed into a short day wear dress. Because the style invoked a sense of innocence and youthfulness, the babydoll was soon to be found back in the bedroom, only this time in a more provocative style. Since many babydolls are styled to have a very short hemline, revealing the buttocks, they are quite popular and help to enhance sexual foreplay.

Babydolls have evolved into a very popular form of fine sexy lingerie, playing on fantasies. With their very short hemline, the legs appear longer and some styles draw attention to the breasts by purposely exposing them. Most often a babydoll is sold as a set with a matching pair of panties or a thong. There are also styles of babydolls that are low key in nature and are marketed as a short nightgown and not as fine sexy lingerie worn for a romantic evening.

Today, due to its popularity, babydoll lingerie can be found in fine lingerie boutiques in their own separate category. Some styles resemble those of the 1960s and 1970s, while others vary considerably and are pointed more toward the fine sexy lingerie market.

One style that has gained notoriety recently is called the “fembot”. This particular style of babydoll lingerie was first seen in the movie, “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”, and features a marabou clad bra with a sheer pleated skirt and a marabou hemline.

Babydolls can be seen with a variety of decorations, from lace, faux fur and ruffles to bows and ribbons. Most have thin or spaghetti straps.

The history of the babydoll is a fairly short one, being a relatively recent innovation. But, it has vaulted into prominence in the fine lingerie market and should continue to be a popular form of fine sexy lingerie for years to come.

Australian Outback: The Ultimate Journey

It begins with an imperceptible quickening of the pulse upon seeing birds in flight, the muted flap of wings silhouetted serenely against the crimson backdrop of sunset. Or listening to the ephemeral caress of the wind rustling tranquilly through the trees, you perceive an ancient whisper suspended in time, gently urging you onward to a place where magic can still be found…

For those who long to get away from it all , if even for a long deserved vacation, an area still remains where one can follow that inner voice which promises to free the spirit, and rejuvenate the senses.

The Australian Outback. Mysterious, vast and uncompromising, its awe-inspiring vistas and sun-drenched deserts await the intrepid traveler who believes the journey, is as important as the destination.

Although the word outback describes the arid interior of Australia, the term more accurately denotes a feeling rather than a precise set of parameters. The ethereal stillness and expansive quality of the land induces a state of psychological emptiness, a meditative paradise of subtropical wetlands, stunning sanguine deserts, breathtaking waterfalls, red rock formations, rain forest and savanna, all teeming with diverse, exotic wildlife.

The history of the outback derives from it’s first inhabitants, the Aboriginal Anagu people, who have lived within the majestic solitude of Australia’s sacred inner regions for more than 40,000 years.

Their deep respect for the land was forged from the belief that every significant event or activity occurring at a particular location leaves behind a vibrational imprint, which can be accessed by what they refer to as Dreamtime .

Through Dreaming , the hidden power of mountains, riverbeds, waterholes and rocks is revealed, reconfirming the inherent connection between man and nature, which, with the passage of time, has gradually been forgotten.

What better place to reestablish that bond than the legendary area known as Ayers Rock. Located in the heart of the continent, this formidable outcropping of sandstone looming above the desert plain symbolizes the essence of the Australian outback.

Also known as Uluru by the Aborigines, they believe that dwelling within the spectacular formation is a source of energy called Tjukurpa’ , and that light can often be seen emanating from it’s timeless walls.

The surface of Uluru is also notable for changing color throughout the day, often appearing to glow inexplicably with various hues of red, blue, and violet… a dancing, sporadic play of lustrous iridescence that gradually gives way to twilight, the sun setting in regal splendor below the seemingly infinite horizon.

Uluru has been an important focus of the spiritual life of the Aborigines for time immemorial. Hundreds of paintings which depict Aboriginal life cover the walls of caves that are interspersed throughout the revered monolith, a pictorial testimony to the traditions and beliefs of a people who have lived in harmony with the natural flow of the earth, and in doing so, receive emotional and spiritual sustenance from the source of all that was, all that is, and all that will be……

Are You Looking For Banjo Lessons

The first time I had a banjo lesson it was a mess. In retrospect it wasn’t actually my very 1st banjo lesson. The truth is that I have been participating with online banjo lessons and truly thought I knew how to play. At the time I was a teen eager to learn. So I started digging around on the world wide web.

There was an internet site with a man strumming which you could actually get this file, and musical tabs which allowed you to follow along with the music. I had my very 1st banjo lesson online a few months back, and even though I slacked a bit, learning those couple of banjo songs still kept me interested, and even though I ended up ignoring the majority of the others, I actually thought I was making progress.

When I first actually took my 1st banjo lesson it was a huge upset for me. I entered the music room and try to brag how good I was. Here is a great music site www.mywebrelease.com http://www.mywebrelease.com . My instructor stared at me and I immediately stumbled on my first fretting of a chord. The banjo is my very first musical instrument and certainly the first time I played in front of a one man audience. I have great public speaking skills, so I am baffled why it was nearly impossible to play in front of one music instructor. The overall process of playing in front of him should be a breeze, correct? Absolutely not! It was awful.

It is truly a mystery how I will be able to learn anything at my banjo lessons if I struggle to play in front of my instructor. My instructor does make time for me, and on top of that he is a superior banjo player. He did show me some stretching techniques which I will apply before my next banjo lesson, and it was a huge stepping stone for me. To add more to that I love how much I learn just from our one on one experience where I get to observe him play. But reality sits in, will my banjo playing skills sound at all any better at my next banjo lesson.

If I continue to fumble my playing when he is around, how will my instructor be able to tell if I am getting any better. To look at it even deeper, how will he know I am trying to learn what he taught me from the last lesson. It will be nearly impossible to gain advice if I can’t strum a chord while he is in the room. So what I decided to do was record myself playing the banjo so he can truly listen to me. From the start, it might be difficult to strum, understanding that I am recording the music so I can show my instructor at my next banjo lesson, but in the long run it will become a breeze.

So What Is Organic Gardening All About?

Organic gardening is growing without chemical fertilizers, naturally building the soil to support healthy plant life. Organic gardening is a constantly evolving dance that allows you to be a full participant in your garden. It is not a fad or new in any way. In fact, it is the oldest method of cultivation and had its first serious beginnings in Europe. It’s good for your family, and it’s less expensive to do. Organic gardening is really about designing the garden as a complete ecosystem, a natural environment where the gardener is a participant, not an observer.

The key to organic gardening is to work with nature in the growing of plants so that the resources consumed by the garden can be replenished both minimally and consistently. Although organic gardening does require a few changes in the way things are done from traditional gardening, you will quickly discover organic gardening is easy and fun. Reduced pollution of the environment through recycling of garden, household and other wastes rather than dumping or burning them is seen as a beneficial by product.

One of the basic tenant of organic gardening is to Feed the soil and the soil will feed the plants . This involves the mysterious world of compost making. Organic compost is a great soil conditioner, is nutrient rich and will give your plants, crops and flowers all they need to prosper. Organic matter (decayed plant material) is an essential ingredient in fertile soils, improving the soil tilth while preventing soil compaction and crusting. Adding organic matter improves any soil’s texture as well as attracting soil organisms that create nutrients in the soil.

Sadly, many people still view organic gardening as a niche or trend, not realizing the incredible benefits gained. Organic gardening benefits not only you and your family, but your land, animals and the earth. Benefits to our children and pets, which are often accidentally exposed to pesticides sprayed on people’s lawns and gardens. Benefits to wildlife if pesticide residue is kept out of our waterways and land. Benefits to the world (a recent study has shown that global warming IS happening, and it IS caused by humans) by keeping pesticides, herbicides and fungicides out of our air and soil.

Remember that organic gardening is much more than preparing soil, using mulch, avoiding synthetic disease and pest controls, and planting your plants. When the kids discover how much fun organic gardening is, they will look forward to making this a normal part of life when they grow up.

Online Bookseller Tips - How Should Books be Packaged for Shipment?

The dilemma facing most online booksellers is to find a sweet spot where the marketplace reimbursements completely cover the costs of packaging and shipping the books they sell. For penny booksellers, the postage margins are really a part of their business model and they rely on making a quarter to fifty cents per book from the postage paid, so packaging is even more important to them.

There are all kinds of ways to reduce your packaging costs, but there are consequences with most that usually mean spending more of your time packaging to save on spending for packaging materials. Some resourceful booksellers have found ways to recycle materials and have no real cost (except for tape) in their packaging of books. I have even resorted to fabricating boxes myself when I was faced with shipping a valuable book that would not conveniently fit into a box I already had, but this usually meant spending fifteen minutes to a half hour custom making a box. Doing this for a $100 book may seem worthwhile, but doing it for a $20 book can mean reducing the value of my time to minimum wage.

Still, there is a lot to be said for being creative and coming up with ways to adequately and efficiently package your books while minimizing your costs.

Back when online bookselling first started, there were buyers that would not accept books packaged in self-sealing bubble pack envelopes; they insisted on corrugated book packs.. Books sent to them in self-sealing bubble pack envelopes were returned. Today, the norm is a self-sealing bubble pack envelope, which sufficiently protects most books, but does not suffice for books that are more valuable, and is deficient for many hard cover books for two principle reasons. First, a bubble pack envelope will not protect the corners of a hard cover book from being bumped, and we all know that once our books are turned over to the Post Office, they are tossed into large containers with much bigger and heavier items like refrigerators, boat anchors, and other well packaged bricks. This inevitably leads to damaged corners on hard backed books. The second reason that bubble pack envelopes do not suffice for some hard backs is that the corners of the book are sharp and they tear through the envelope. This can lead to corner bumps as described above, or worse, continued tearing of the envelope and the escape of the book.

For all of these reasons and scenarios, you need to evaluate each book you sell and determine what the appropriate packaging should be, or you need to take the profit hit and provide boxes/book folds for all of your books.

Personally, I prefer to strike a balance that results in the maximum protection for the books with minimal demand of my time. This means that the majority of my books are packed in self-sealing bubble pack envelopes, while the smallest and least valuable books are wrapped in clean newsprint paper and shipped in manila envelopes and the more valuable and bigger books are put in either a custom fitting box, or a suitable available box.

Another step in preparing your books for shipment that is appreciated by customers and added protection for your book against moisture is thin film stretch wrap. This is much like the clear plastic wrap used for leftover food that stretches and clings to the sides of food storage containers. The cost is probably on the order of a penny per book and you can buy this kind of stretch wrap in three inch widths from most industrial suppliers. I like to wrap all new books with this with the customer receipt on the cover of the book.

When you are making the decisions for your business and how you will package books for shipment, think about how you would want the book to arrive if you were the buyer. If you do not provide the level of shipping protection for your books that your customers expect, you can expect negative feedback, so if you opt to use cheaper shipping materials, make sure you are not cutting too much cost out and giving your customers the wrong impression.
