Introduction To Shih Tzu Grooming

Shih Tzu Grooming Is Art, Skill, Trade and a Profession

Shih Tzu grooming can be compared to human beauty culture because it is the beautification of the Shih Tzu breed. The art of Shih Tzu grooming is aimed at creating a reasonable facsimile of a normal specimen of the Shih Tzu breed. The attendance of Shih Tzu American Kennel Club dog shows is an excellent place to observe first hand the best specimens of the Shih Tzu breed.

There are basic steps applicable to grooming the Shih Tzu as well as all breeds of dogs. Anyone interested in becoming a complete dog grooming artist, should know how to make all breeds beautiful. A Shih Tzu grooming artist professional should know how best to enhance the appearance of each breed of dog. However, if the Shih Tzu is your favorite breed, one can become known as an “expert” in grooming the Shih Tzu.

A professional Shih Tzu groomer understands that certain breeds, like Poodles, most Terriers and Spaniels, and the Shih Tzu require far more time and skill to groom than smooth-haired breeds, in which only a knowledge of the fundamentals is required.

History of dog grooming:

The dog, including the Shih Tzu, has been the closest animal to the human family. Grooming dogs was the fashion of the aristocracy during the 19th Century. The art flourished during the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI of France. The Poodle, however, and not the Shih Tzu, was the favorite breed. Grooming was largely confined to the Poodle. The first recorded grooming parlors were established in France about this same time.

The Shih Tzu has become so much an integral part of the family that going to the canine beautician is as much a ritual for the family Shih Tzu as going to the hairdresser is for the lady of the house. Shih Tzu and dog styling in general has also become so professional and sophisticated that Shih Tzu owners have become as selective about their Shih Tzu’s groomer as they are about their own hair stylist.

Origin of the clips:

Since the art of dog grooming flourished during the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI of France and the Poodle, instead of our beloved Shih Tzu, was the favorite breed in France, the Poodle breed became known as the French Poodle. The first Poodles were water dogs and retrievers. The clip most suitable to them resembled what is known today as the “Continental clip.” A mane of hair was left on the foreparts while the back and hindquarters were shaven. This clip made the Poodle resemble a lion, and therefore the clip became known in England as the “Lion clip.”

The American fancy made some variations in the “Lion clip” and began to call it the “Saddle clip.” The English Saddle clip calls for the greatest skill in the art of dog grooming.

It is not clear from historical records just when the “pet clips” originated. Often now we hear of a “Puppy Cut” for our Shih Tzu, which is a very popular style for a family pet Shih Tzu. However, for the show ring, there is much, much more to grooming our beloved Shih Tzu.

10 Tips for Marketing Your Book Online

1) ALWAYS have a link to where your book can be purchased in your signature line. Never send an email without it. You can link to a website, your blog, newsletter, etc. as well. Keep the number of lines between two and four–it’s considered good ‘netiquette’ especially when posting to regulated groups or forums.

2) Request to do a chat in every available online spot you can. Offer to send a freebie as a ‘door prize’ but DON’T offer your current release. This could slow sales as prospective chatters might wait to find out if they win one for free. Book thongs, markers (very cheap to mail,) older releases, and other related promotional items work well . You can also offer a critique if the chat is writer-related. Get creative.

3) Target websites and blogs that are in the genre you write and offer to do a Q&A or an interview on the site or blog. (See above for possible prizes you might offer.)

4) Get your own website. This is important because no matter how much advertising or promotion you do, it’ll be hard to generate internet interest without a web presence. Even if it’s a smaller, free site, it’s better than not having one at all. Check into some of the more prominent websites that cater to authors and look into their specially discounted hosting/design packages.

5) Create a newsletter. Try to make it fun and interactive for both writers and readers. In my newsletter I include chocolate recipes and a family-friendly joke section. Depending on the genre you write in, you can even gear it toward your target audience. If you write YA, you can make it more teen-friendly.

6) Start blogging. Write as often as you can on your blog, even if it’s just a few paragraphs every other day or so. When you blog, try to include links to other places (even if it’s just to your own website) so that you’ll generate more ‘hits’ from searches to your blog, and hence to your title(s). Don’t forget that you can comment on other people’s blogs as well, leaving again, a link back to you.

7) Join groups and use them wisely. If you’re on MySpace, send bulletins out when you blog (which can be cross-posted between your MySpace blog and your personal blog.) Visit your ‘friends’–try to aim for at least five a week, for just a moment, to drop them a note. Keep it casual and friendly. Join other groups on the net that are for readers (like book club groups) and post occasionally–where your signature line will be seen by everyone. Aim for groups with large memberships.

8) Once you have your website, do link or banner exchanges with friendly authors or others that you know. Cross-promotion is fabulous for getting your links in front of new internet users.

9) Enter your title into internet contests, usually for free, but you may consider a nominal fee. Whether it’s a cover-art contest, or just a contest decided by voters and even if you don’t win, your title will be listed on the internet in yet another place.

10) Write press releases, articles, and reviews and post them in the appropriate places. If you set up a virtual tour , if you have a new release, if you win a contest, you can write a press release. Write articles and submit them to free-to-use article places where content seekers can grab your article (with the source box including your links) and use it on their site or in their newsletter. Every time you finish reading a book, write a review for it and submit it everywhere you can–like online booksellers such as Amazon.com. (If you alter it a bit, you can even send it out as an article.) Of course, with a link back to you.

Make friends everywhere you go. Be helpful to others. Volunteer your time. Offer congrats and commiserations when someone else needs a friend. Most of all, be sincere. This is more valuable than any of the above because it not only makes your internet existence bearable, but you’ll get help, inspire others to promote you, and have a host of opportunities already in place when your next release comes out.

Shining Shuttle to the Stars or Long Black Train to Hell

It has been calculated that after the 1969 Tet Offensive in Vietnam that the North Vietnamese army was largely made ineffective. With that in mind it could also be said that America has lost no major war in its entire history. Is that what makes America a “super power”?

The power to wage and win wars may be to the minds of some what makes a nation a super power but after a closer examination of history it can be seen that military victories don’t go very far to keep a nation at the peak of power. History says it is a nation’s moral fortitude alone that keeps it at the top. Obviously there are those who don’t believe this and there is even more who think it is pure folly just to entertain such an archaic thought.

Throughout history the strongest nations were often brought down by a mere device. To wit, ancient Babylon seemed impregnable with its massive walls that could hold six chariots side by side on the tops of the wall. By a simple device, the diverting of the waters of the Euphrates River the Persians were able to wade in under the walls of the city and bring the inhabitants to their knees.

The Persians prided themselves in their power to swarm over a city with an overwhelming army and flatten all resistance. If a city of one hundred thousand people was faced with an army of millions often they gave up without a fight. Again a simple device called the Greek Phalanx pulled the plug for Persia. A simple formation of tiered spearmen effectively ripped up the blitzkrieg like armies of Persia.

Superior strategies and the brilliant tactics of Alexander the Great laid waste to the Persians and for a time it would seem that no one could topple the mighty Greek empire. Enter Rome with an army of superbly trained men. A single Roman soldier was trained to hold off up to twelve men at a time. The idea of training men for warfare reached its peak at that time in history and remains to this day. Rome eventually fell from its perch but not because its famed armies lost their punch. It fell because it could not withstand its own success.

With material goods in abundance and freedom to do anything that entered the imagination, the Romans gave themselves to the hot pursuit of pleasures and indulgence. Rome’s reputation for licentiousness became a stink throughout the world. Within Rome the shredding moral fabric traversed the entire social spectra affecting Roman citizens from the lowest to the highest. Near the end of the empire the best seats of the Roman senate could be had for a pittance and the emperor’s throne had earned a reputation for shame that has far out lasted the fame of any particular emperor.

Germany underestimated the British, Bonaparte had his Waterloo and the list is almost endless. To make the list comprehensive would take volumes but the lesson is singular and takes only a sentence. “The power of a nation is not its armies.”

In the modern era it would seem that a burgeoning economy or great technological advances are commonly accepted as evidence of a nations “superpower” status. But since stock markets crash over night and space shuttles are brought down by a few missing tiles it is presumptuous to put all our trust in these things. The unseen substance of moral power still holds center stage in any assessment of a nation’s strength. It can’t be readily seen or handled much like air but everyone knows what happens when air begins to rise to the level of a category five hurricane or a tornado.

For America it is obviously a combination of all these elements that gave us the idea that we are a “superpower.” With the abuse of our hard won freedoms on the rise and the flaunting of all that is raunchy by our film industry and media it seems we are on country singer Josh Turner’s Long Black Train rather than NASA’s gleaming shuttle to the stars.

There’s a long black train
Coming down the line
Feeding off the souls that are lost and crying
Rails of sin only evil remain
Watch out brother for that long black train

Look to the heavens
You can look to the skies
You can find redemption, staring back into your eyes
There is protection and there is peace in the same
burn in your ticket for that
long black train

Cause there’s victory in the lord I say
Victory in the Lord
Cling to the Father and his holy name
and don’t go riding on that long black train

There’s a engine there on that long black train
making you wonder if your ride is worth the pain
he’s just a waitin’ on your heart to say
let me ride on that long black train

But you know there’s victory in the lord I say
victory in the lord
Cling to the father and his holy name
and don’t go riding on that long black train

Well I can hear the whistle from a mile away
it sounds so good
but I must stay away
that train is a beauty making everybody stare
but its only destination is the middle of nowhere

But you know there’s victory in the lord I say
victory in the Lord
Cling to the Father and his holy name
and don’t go ridin’ on that long black train

I said cling to the father and his holy name and don’t go ridin’ on that black train
yes watch out brother for that long black train
the devils a ridin’ that long black train.

Have Americans lost sight of where the battle is, is the real army “We the People”, wandering around in a fog unable to even see where the enemy is? It is looking that way more and more as we head down history row.

Even with an all volunteer army whose morale is very high there are those who are in a rush to bring the men back from Iraq and Afghanistan before our objectives have been realized. Perhaps Americans have gotten the battlegrounds a bit mixed up and instead of thinking the defeat of terrorism is important they now believe in the media’s constant call to fight another war. Americans are called upon daily through millions of advertisements to fight the good fight against dirt, stains and germs.

We plan for our happy retirements and talk of future personal security by building strong financial portfolios while we indulge in every whim and fancy without regard to rising world threats from terrorists, fanatical regimes and nuclear powered dictators with little or no conscience. The liberal factions of our society seem to see only an actual physical invasion of our shores as a real threat. They seem to have taken the events of 9/11 seriously but not for very long. Did someone announce a truce between us and the terrorists? The proponents of liberalism it would seem have heard a different trumpet blowing and raced off to the wrong war.

Preachers and prophets are accorded equal status with used car salesmen and anyone who thinks times were better before is taken for a sentimental nostalgia buff. Being cool is nothing but another word for aloof. America is aloof if it thinks that moral power is only a nostalgic allusion to our past or a pious preacher’s platitude that has no more practical value than the long forgotten debut of the hula hoop. In fact, our moral strength is all we’ve got!

Faith in God, love for our country and its founding principles and the love of our neighbor are not nostalgic niceties to look back on. They are the only hope of a reasonably good future we have, and that’s a big Cajun guarantee.

The Bible is very clear on the subject and we will call upon a passage of Holy Writ here to finalize the matter. The verses are taken from the prophet Jeremiah, chapter 17 verses 5 through 8.

Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Dexterity Customization

Microsoft Great Plains software development, customizations, reporting. Microsoft Dexterity programming as reliable alternative to newer technologies and platforms, such as .Net, C# and VB MS Visual Studio development, eConnect, XML: Web Services.

Alba Spectrum Group is proud to announce Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity group development headcount increase. We are serving USA nation-wide from our Dexterity project management facilities in Houston, TX and Chicago, IL. Luis Leung (Alba Spectrum Texas) and Andrew Karasev (Alba Spectrum Illinois) are lead project managers for Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity customization, integration, reporting, form modification projects. Some Microsoft Dexterity technological features:

• Sanscript. This is Dexterity programming language. It is actually compiled and stored in Dynamics.dic with development source code. Dex is cursor oriented DB accessing programming language, however you can also call MS SQL Server stored procedures (with SQL Select statement aggregation logic)

• Alternate Forms. Technically you can modify any form you like in Dynamics.Dic - original Microsoft Dynamics GP objects repository. But you might encounter future upgrade issues - original forms are subject to redesign by Microsoft Dynamics subdivision without any notice

• Dexterity Reports. As software developer you can create new Dexterity report, assuming that you will also provide new Dex form, where report will be getting parameters

• Dexterity Alternatives. In 1990th the alternatives were VBA - you could modify Greta Plains form with Modifier and include VBA scripting into your modification - Dynamics.vba is the dictionary, storing your modification. In 2000th you have .Net instruments, such as eConnect with XML Web Services interface. Technically eConnect is very powerful, but comparing to Dexterity - Dex has access to all Dynamics GP objects, while eConnect is secondary enabler - it has access to objects, covered by eConnect development team. Future direction will probably give more options to Business Portal developer, using either eConnect or manipulating another future interface for Great Plains objects

• Dexterity Advancements. These are typically related to Microsoft Great Plains Source Code Programming. Very good extension is posting server, allowing ecommerce developer automatically post GP batches in such modules as Sales Order Processing, GL, Inventory Control, POP, and others

• Comparison to Other Microsoft Dynamics Products. Microsoft Dynamics ERP family include Axapta, Navision, Solomon and with some restrictions Microsoft CRM. Dexterity should be compared with similar technologies: Axapta Microsoft Dynamics AX - MorphX / X++, Navision Microsoft Dynamics NAV C/SIDE

• Heterogeneous. Or cross platform software development: Oracle, IBM, Sybase, Ingress: Oracle Financials/Ebusiness Suite, Lotus Notes Domino. Microsoft SQL Server technology gives you Linked Server concept, Oracle gives you similar technologies, plus from Java/J2EE you can create various JDBC/ODBC bridges or native drivers

Meeting Your Family’s Health Needs With An HSA

Making sure that your family is able to stay healthy partly depends on having a good health insurance program for them. One of the more recent new additions to the health insurance industry is called the Health Savings Account (HSA). This new program enables you to have reduced insurance rates because of a higher deductible, and a tax deferred savings program with it. Here are some of the features of this program.

Reduced Rates

By getting a health insurance program with a high deductible, you are able to greatly reduce your monthly premiums. This is an especially good way to go, if you are younger and currently have pretty good health. The deductible amounts are pre-determined by the government, and you are required to have deductible amounts between $1,050 and $5,250 for singles, and it needs to be between $2,100 and $10,500 for families.

Savings Are Tax Exempt

One of the great benefits of this type of plan is that, like an IRA, you enjoy tax-free income, and interest on the amounts you have in the program. You can put into the plan money that comes off the top of your taxes. There are limits, though, and for singles it is up to $2,700, and for families it is $5,450. A little extra benefit is that you are able to take off of your taxes any money that is deposited into the account all the way up to April 15th. So, if you are coming up to tax time, and find you need to reduce your taxes some more, you can put it into your HSA, and find the tax break you need.

Better Coverage

The new HSA’s have an extra real nice feature - they cover more. Some things that you may not have been covered for under another type of policy, you may find that you are covered for with an HSA. This could actually allow you to get a better coverage for less. Things like dental coverage, therapy, even non-prescription medicines and some alternative treatments may also be covered, and even some mental illness treatments, too.

You Keep Control

Under an HSA, you are the one in control of the money. It is yours to use. You can take money out of the account when you want, but only the money that is used only for medical purposes is tax-exempt. Generally, you will be given a card, like a credit card, that gives you access to the account. Whenever you use money from the account, the insurance company automatically gets a receipt, and it is subtracted from your account, and your deductible - and it remains tax exempt.

Like any other insurance policy, once you have paid the deductible amounts, the rest is up to the insurer to pay. By having the high deductible you reduce the premiums considerably. The savings account can also provide a good hedge for your medical insurance program for the future, too, because any money not used toward the deductible remains your money - to use next year, if you need it. On the other hand, the money in your HSA might also be used to provide some money for retirement - assuming you maintain your good health.

How To Smooth Out Acne’s Bumpy Road

A natural skin care for treatment for acne will always treat the body first, main stream medicine and over the counter treatments for acne always treat the symptom as the cause, which is wrong.

Acne appears on the skin and it is a natural reaction to want to treat it there. But consider for a moment how did I get acne? Acne did not originate on your skin, so would it not make sense to treat the cause. Acne will occur in most cases with hormone disruption. If you want to get rid of acne the best place to start is from the inside out.

The skin is a mirror image of the internal health of your body.Acne and other skin disorders is an outward sign of stressed systems within the body. There are many conditions which can contribute to acne formation. Herdity and family history of acne is often suspected as a contibutor to acne. The probability of developing acne is higher but that doesn’t mean that acne will develop. Heridty is not a major factor.

Acne can occur during puberty when sex hormones (androgen) in boys and (estrogen) in girls upsets the normal function of the sebacious glands.Too much oil is produced and combined with dead skin cells which become trapped in the foliclles, allow bacteria and infection to develop. FTP Hosting Service Selection - Seven Tips

If you’re frustrated with the inability to send and receive large files via email, you’re not alone. Most businesses today are experiencing the same problem.

As software programs evolve, the files they create are forever increasing in size. Programs like AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and a host of many more can create files in excess of 5MB to 300MB.

One of the best ways to send large files via the Internet is by utilizing what is called an FTP Hosting service. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol.

How does it work? An FTP Hosting service is simple and effective. Unlike email, where you send files from one person to another, FTP hosting allows you to upload files of any size or type to a secure storage location on the Internet. Once you’ve uploaded your files, the recipient of the files can then download them at will.

So how do you go about selecting the best FTP Hosting service? We’ve come up with a list of Seven Tips that will help you in the selection process.

1. Good Track Record & References:

The provider of the FTP Hosting service should have a solid business track record. You’ll want to select a company that has been in business at least 4 to 6 years.

Remember, you’re entrusting the FTP Hosting company with proprietary corporate information. Make sure they are a legitimate company. These days it’s easy to develop a website and call yourself an FTP Hosting company. Avoid any company that looks like a Fly-by-night operation.

Ask for references! If the provider is good, they’ll ask you how many references you would like! Also, their web site should provide an indication of their length of time in business and references, if they have any.

2. Phone Number:

Make sure the FTP Hosting company provides you with a phone number to call, preferably a toll-free number. If you have any problems at all you’ll want to speak with someone.

You’ll also want to call the number they give you and verify that someone answers the phone and can talk intelligently about the service they provide.

Avoid any company that does not answer their phone during normal business hours, as they most likely won’t answer it when you have a question or problem.

3. Guarantee or Trial:

Look for a service provider that guarantee’s their service and will allow you to test it before you subscribe. Ask for a 30-day free evaluation period. If that’s not available then ask for a 30-day, unconditional satisfaction guarantee. It should allow you to cancel within 30-days and pay nothing if you’re not completely satisfied with the service.

In addition, look for a service that provides discounts if you pre-pay for six or twelve months. You’ll be surprised as to how much money you can save by paying in advance.

4. Adequate Bandwidth:

Ask your FTP Hosting company how much bandwidth is available for file uploads and downloads. Avoid any company that limits the amount of bandwidth available for transferring files.

If a company puts limits on available bandwidth, they are either an extremely small business and won’t be able to service you properly, or they may charge you for bandwidth in excess of a given amount per month. Either way, you won’t be happy at the end of the day.

Look for a company that can provide you with unlimited bandwidth and does not charge you for it.

5. Ease of Use:

The service must be easy-to-use and support file transfers from Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Ask the service provider what, if any, software is required on the client side in order to transfer files to and from the secure FTP site.

Make sure you’re not required to purchase a vendor specific, proprietary software program to transfer your files. You should be able to use any off-the-shelf, downloadable FTP client software program such as CuteFTP, WS FTP, SmartFTP, Fetch, or FTP Voyager.

6. Storage Space Limitation:

Most FTP Hosting services are available on a month-to-month subscription basis and their rate is set according to the amount of storage space you require. Make sure your monthly storage limitations have what’s called a Soft Cap.

A Soft Cap allows you to exceed your storage limitations without incurring an additional fee. More importantly, it allows you and/or your customers to continue uploading/downloading files to your FTP site after you have exceeded your storage space allotment.

In other words, you can continue doing business without worrying about your FTP service provider shutting down your FTP site.

7. Technical Support Via Email:

Avoid any provider that only responds to technical problems via email. There are a lot of providers out there that have great prices but they lack the support you may need. Remember, sooner or later you will have a question or problem and you will want to speak with a live person.

Choose a company that provides you with a technical support phone number, not an email address. Call the number and ask for help! Make sure they answer the phone and provide the type of you support you’re looking for.

Now that you know the questions to ask and what to look for in an FTP Hosting service, you’re ready to go out and find one. The best place to start looking is Google www.Google.com. Just type in the phrase FTP Hosting and work your way through all the selections. The Seven Tips outlined above will assist you in quickly finding the best providers of FTP Hosting

Content Or Passion: Balance In The Writing Journey

Is it better to participate in content writing or write for magazine publication?

The above question is actually multifaceted and can help you determine the overall thrust of your freelance writing career.

It has been estimated that a writer will need to pen a million words before a publisher is likely to accept their first work. That means a lot of rejection slips.

So, does that imply that content writing is preferred to the crafting of a book or magazine article?

Well not exactly. Content writing is a means of addressing a short-term need. If the immediate need is cash, then content writing might provide the answer. However, if you are looking for a means of affecting long-term royalty payments or a greater flexibility in the ownership of your material you may look at other publishing options.

When you agree to write content for a client you are essentially providing a service for hire. Once you release the article or story to the client and they reciprocate with a payment you have no further interest in the article. You can’t use it again and you will gain no further payment for its ongoing use.

When you write a story for potential use in a book anthology, or a full manuscript for publication, you may have a variety of rights to consider.

If you are the author of a story, you can negotiate with a publisher for the rights you are willing to provide. You could provide First North American Rights, which would allow you to resell the story in the future as a second right, but you would also have the capability of selling first rights to someone else on an international basis. Nonexclusive rights allow you to continue selling the material with the same rights to as many publishers as are interested.

As we venture back to the original question it is important to understand that freelanced writing can and should be a balanced approach to writing. If it takes you a million words before you find publishing success why not make some of those words available to a paying content market to provide some skills-based writing while you work on other projects that are more personal and may have the potential to provide long-term residual payments.

A writer should always find time to write about the things they are passionate about, however the service of content writing provides a means of gaining some writing income while learning new skills and writing techniques while you are waiting for a publisher’s acceptance letter.

Southern US Cuisine

If you’ve never tasted Southern food , then you don’t know what you’re missing. But truth be told, chances are you already have enjoyed Southern food but just didn’t know it.

There’s a distinct cuisine in the Southern United States that is best represented by Soul food, Creole, Cajun, Tex-Mex and Floribbean. Naturally, this food was heavily influenced by the cuisine of many groups that have inhabited the area throughout history, including African-American, Native American, British, Irish, French and Spanish cuisine.

Mint juleps, pecan pie, country ham, chicken-fried steak, grits, biscuits, especially with gravy or sorghum, sweet tea, pit barbeque, catfish, fried green tomatoes, cornbread, fried chicken, okra, butter beans, pinto beans, greens , and black eyed peas are other types of food that are associated with the South.

There are food chains that specialize in Southern food too, such as Cracker Barrel, that have been quite profitable catering to a special niche. Their reach has extended beyond the South and into the mainstream American markets. Other nationally popular Southern chains are Stuckey’s and Popeye’s which are known for their pecan shoppe and spicy fried chicken, respectively. Meanwhile, there are also national chains that are now considered mainstream but have Southern roots including Kentucky Fried Chicken, Krystal, Shoney’s, the Waffle House and Hardee’s. The popular donut chain Krispy Kreme also has its roots in the South.

In addition, there are chains that specialize in Southern food that have decided to cater solely to the Southern market, such as Po’ Folks and Famous Amos as well as Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q,

Within the South itself, food tends to vary by region. In Southern Louisiana, for example, Cajun and Creole food is very popular. Soul food is generally associated with black communities but is also enjoyed by others in the South. North Carolina and South Carolina have traditionally been rice-loving locales while people in North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas just love their barbecues. Virginia is the home of those famous Smithfield hams while Louisiana is renowed for its hot sauces. Florida is where you can trace the roots of Key Lime Pie, while it’s peaches and peanuts in Georgia. Texas is famous for its chili while Kentucky has its Burgoo.
