The Secret To Skydive In New Jersey

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 11:34 pm

Whether you’re up north toward New York or down south toward Philadelphia, you can expect to find excellent opportunities for skydiving New Jersey.

There are some important considerations to make when you’re choosing a skydiving center, especially if it’s your first time making a jump. If you’re skydiving New Jersey, though, you can rest assured that it’d be hard to make the wrong decision. That’s because New Jersey parachuting is some of the best on the East Coast. When you skydive in New Jersey, you have great options to pick from, no matter where you happen to live in the south or north of the state.

When skydiving New Jersey, though, you’ll want to keep the following in mind for your safety and enjoyment. Your first choice if your New Jersey parachuting experience is your first, is to decide whether you want to do a tandem jump, a line jump, or an accompanied jump.

Tandem jumps may be your best bet when you first skydive in New Jersey, just because you, the beginner, has no responsibility. You can just sit back, figuratively speaking of course, and enjoy your skydiving New Jersey experience as your tandem master worries about altitude and pulling the cord. The best thing about tandem skydiving, as well, is that you don’t even know that the tandem master is attached to your back. You’re too busy enjoying the freefall.

Serious skydivers can also consider taking skydiving lessons at a New Jersey location. Many places allow you to participate in the eight-jump skydiving student program offered by the United States Parachute Association, or you can choose to take skydiving lessons lesson by lesson.

Either way, be sure to call around at the following New Jersey skydiving locations or more information:

Freefall Adventures/Skydive Crosskeys is situated just outside of Philadelphia in southern New jersey. Located in Williamstown, it is considered one of the top skydiving schools in all of the northeast.

Skydive Jersey Shore is up north toward New York and located on the picturesque Jersey shore. This skydiving center takes pride in catering toward first-time jumpers.

New York Skydiving School/Skydive Sussex is, you guessed it, located in Sussex near the Big Apple. It offers the unique experience of a first-jump altitude of 13,500 feet, which you won’t find at too many other locations.

Overcome Fear of Public Speaking by Feeling the Love

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 9:02 pm

Are you one of the majorities of people that fear speaking in public? Fear of public speaking has reached extraordinary proportions affecting most people scheduled to stand up in front of people to speak.

It can be a daunting task to get up in front of people. It’s one thing to introduce yourself and your department (if you’re speaking in front of a group of people at work). It’s quite another thing to present your most recent product offering or ask a potential client to do business with you. However, as everyone knows, real business success comes from the ability to confidently convey your thoughts and express yourself in front of others.

So how can you overcome the fear of speaking in public and achieve career success? Here is one idea to help you:

One technique that many professional speakers do is to feel the love in the room . This may sound like a strange suggestion at first, so let’s look at it a little more closely.

All eyes are on you when you are standing in front of everyone. You COULD think that they are there to judge you. In fact, that misconception is what causes so much of our fear! But that isn’t normally why people are there. Remember…

1. They are there to hear what you have to say. YOU! They respect you enough to to hear your thoughts and opinions. Even in sales calls it is your expertise that they came to hear.

2. Aside from everyone in the room respecting and admiring you enough to hear your thoughts, there are many in there that cannot do what you’re doing. While you may be scared, there is literally a large percentage of people in every group who are astounded that you have the guts to stand up and speak.

3. And, in almost every presentation, there’s a strong chance that someone in the room really likes you and is silently cheering you on. It could be your sales manager or a co-presenter or an ally in your client’s office. Feed of the energy they’re sending you with their positive best wishes.

4. You are not there to hurt anyone. On the contrary! You are there to help them. You want to help them find the right product or service that you feel can be supplied by your company or perhaps you’re there to help guide them to a better understanding of what your product does.

Remember: You know something they don’t. Smile, keep a positive demeanor, and speak with confidence. You’ll see results!

How I Became A Radio DJ In Japan

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 7:56 pm

I’d been living in Japan for a few years after giving up my Police career as a Detective in Melbourne, Australia. I was fluent in Japanese and had done a number of TV programs here in Japan, when my future turned from TV to Radio.

One day I bumped into a guy who I went to school with when I was an exchange student for one year here in Niigata, Japan. He’d gotten into the dating business and asked me if I would be the MC at the dating parties which are where guys and girls come together and exchange profiles and get to meet each other. It’s good because it gives them an opportunity to meet others.

Unknown to me, a female spy from one of the other dating groups in town had joined the party to see how we run our parties. Luckily I was the MC at that party. She turned out to be a high spirited person, and a person who was to be my partner for 18 months on radio. Her name was Ryoko Mizobuchi.

Ryoko whilst now working for her dating company had previously worked on radio as a DJ and wanted to return to radio. A new radio station covering the whole of the Niigata Prefecture was about to start and was advertising for staff. Without phoning the station for an appointment she went to the station burst through the doors and asked for a job as a DJ.

Ryoko got the job and the owner of the production company for the radio station asked her if she knew any foreigners that spoke Japanese well. She told him of me and one other guy. Now the guy I was doing the MC dating work for rang me and said, I’m going to do a dating corner on this new radio station called FM Port, Niigata. The corner will be about love and dating and I want you to do the corner on the radio, so come with me to FM Port to talk with production company boss.

I went with him to FM Port and for the 30 minutes we were there the boss of the production company spoke to me about lots of things. I didn’t think it was an interview so I just talked and joked with the boss. I was then offered a job as a radio DJ, 4 hours on air everyday except Sunday! The boss told me to come back the following Tuesday for a final interview and test. Heck I didn’t even know that our chat was an interview. Read on:

The Hunt For Red October (DVD) Review

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 5:19 pm

Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin star in The Hunt For Red October, a brilliantly conceived storyline drawn from the pages of military thriller and superstar writer Tom Clancy’s first novel. Blessed with a cutting-edge plot and dripping with suspense, The Hunt For Red October is one of the best Soviet/US spy films ever produced (and right on the cusp of the Cold War’s end). Perhaps the Soviet Union’s collapse was hurried along by its fear of a civilian populace that could write stories so close to reality. After all, if a US civilian could estimate the capabilities of the new Soviet submarines, what had their government uncovered? Regardless of its real life implications, The Hunt For Red October is an entertaining film rivaled by few in its class…

When Captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) is appointed to command the newest and most technologically advanced submarine in the Soviet fleet - the Red October, he orders his crew to do the unthinkable - defect to the United States. Diverting the sub from its designated course, he causes alarm among the ranks of the entire Soviet military establishment. The United States takes notice as well, informed by the Soviet Union that the renegade commander is intent on attacking the United States.

But CIA operative Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) has another theory. Suppose that Ramius was attempting to defect? Would the Soviet Union really inform its greatest enemy of a defection, or would they simply attempt to enlist its services in immediately destroying the sub? Ryan banks on the latter and does everything within his power to convince the top brass that he’s right. Now, the hunt is on between the two largest superpowers in the world. Which one will find the Red October first?

The role of Jack Ryan, so brilliantly portrayed by Alec Baldwin, falls to Harrison Ford for the next two Tom Clancy novels adapted to the big screen - Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger. Ben Affleck would later star in the role of Ryan for the 2002 film release of Sum Of All Fears. But Baldwin is clearly in command of the character in this initial onscreen depiction of the now famous Jack Ryan.

However, the true star of The Hunt For Red October is Sean Connery, the former James Bond regular, who plays the role of Captain Marko Ramius. Connery is more than believable as the headstrong, renegade commanding officer of the Red October. In addition to its strong casting, The Hunt For Red October is further enhanced by the screenwriter’s decision to stick as close as possible to Tom Clancy’s original work. A surprising #1 best-seller, The Hunt For Red October became a national phenomenon following its less than ambitious initial print-run of 15,000 copes by the Naval Institute Press. Its best-seller status wasn’t the result of luck, as this film will attest. The first in a series of blockbuster Jack Ryan films, The Hunt For Red October is a definite must-see film no one should miss.

Introduction to Heavy Equipment Operating

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 4:36 pm

Construction equipment operators operate machinery to move earth, building materials, or other heavy objects. You’ll find equipment operators working at industrial, residential or business construction sites. You can also find heavy equipment operators working at mines, bridges, dams, even at offshore oil rigs. The working conditions are nearly always out doors, meaning construction equipment operators have to deal with changing weather conditions. Sometimes the work may be suspended because of the weather. Conditions of a particular job might even require the heavy equipment operator to work throughout the night.

There are different types of construction equipment operators. Paving and surfacing equipment operators operate machines to spread and level material such as asphalt or concrete on, for example, roads. Tamping equipment operators operate machines to compact earth or other fill material on roadbeds or footings. Pile driver operators operate machines to drive beams of wood or steel into the ground to be used as footings or supports.

An operating engineer is a more generalized heavy equipment operator. They can operate multiple pieces of equipment such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, fork lifts or cranes. They’re also usually charged with the task of maintaining the equipment they operate. For the most part heavy equipment operating is a dirty, greasy, demanding job requiring multiple skills and talents.

Construction equipment operators usually start out by learning on the job with light equipment and work their way up from there. Employers look for high school graduates with a mechanical aptitude, but with modern advances in equipment with computer control systems and GPS, formal training in a vocational school or apprenticeship program is preferred. Such educations usually require a few years apprenticeship with experienced operators along with on the job training. Some pre-qualifications for a heavy equipment operator would be: good physical health, good balance (some jobs require the operator to work at great heights), eye hand foot coordination and the ability to judge distance. Construction equipment controls may require the use of both hands and feet and accuracy in placing objects and tools in precise locations.

Heavy equipment operating can be a rewarding job for those who take satisfaction in seeing buildings and other man-made structures and knowing they had a part in building them. The pay is on the high side as far as construction workers go and as long as civilization grows, there’s no end in sight for the need of heavy equipment operators.

A Parents Survival Guide to Legoland Windsor

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 1:14 pm

I have visited Legoland many times over many years, as well as having made and heard suggestions from many, many families over the years. It has given me a set of “rules” that have become invaluable in attacking and surviving a day out at Legoland in Windsor.

There really can be nothing worse than planning a trip to Legoland and to turn up just after the park is open at 10am. This is the first fatal move. You will end up queuing almost as soon as you get off the M4 motorway (see Getting To Us for directions). This inevitably means you get to the Legoland park some time after 10am, more likely nearer 11am, then queue into the parking area, queue to get tickets, queue to get through the ticket barrier, queue to get on the train down the hill and then you continue your day with a bit more queuing on all the rides. Lovely!

I think you can all see the picture I’m painting here. I will just add that this is normally only this bad on peak days in summer, at weekends and during the school holidays, but it can happen at any day to a greater or lesser degree depending upon the weather - it suddenly turns hot and sunny, everyone decides to go to Legoland - or there’s a special offer on you didn’t know about - all the locals with their Legoland annual passes turn out for the day.

So how do you start off on the right foot?

The most important thing to remember is that the Legoland park opens at 10am, and by park I don’t mean the parking, the pay points, the Lego shop or the hill top restaurant!

Yep you guessed it, this is all open earlier, at 9.30am. This is when you should be rolling up to the parking area. From the previous scenario you are already 1 hour ahead of those less fortunate who are about to get stuck in the traffic queues off the M4!

So you’ve arrived and parked up, its about 9.40am and you’ve unpacked the kids and are wandering off to the ticket booths, but of course if you’ve planned ahead - which you should have because you’re reading this for a start - and have bought your Legoland tickets online (normally a slight discount) or bought them from Langton House with your accommodation and got the 2 day passes …. You can pass straight into the Beginning, get your bearings, form The Plan of attack, and try and keep the children away from the shop! Try and get some stickers for the kids, these have your mobile phone number on them in case they (or you) get separated. Check out the Model Makers Workshop and Hall of Fame - some amazing Lego models, a near life size 747 cockpit, the Lego Crown Jewels amongst many other exhibits. Alternatively, just get a coffee at the Pitstop Café. There is plenty to do here for ½ an hour to chill out and relax before you hit Legoland proper. The Plan will help you get an idea of where to head first, which rides your children want as well as those with height restrictions and the times of the shows throughout the day.

It is getting towards 10am, head down to the Hill Train. Now it may not be worth getting on the train, particularly if there is already a queue, after all, the purpose of this guide is to cut down the queuing, so why would you want to start the day in one! Just wait until they let you past and walk on into the park.

It’s all downhill into the park, but it’s now time to follow The Plan you thought about earlier. The basic rule is to walk to the back of Legoland and work your way forward. Its important to get to the major rides as soon as you can, do them and then you can relax and make the most of the park for the rest of the day.

In my opinion the best rides at Legoland in 2006 were the Dragon Ride, Pirate Falls, Jungle Coaster and the Driving School. The one thing you can guarantee is that by midday there will be at least a 45 minute queue for all these rides, so its best to try and tick them all off you list as soon as possible. Of course if your little lovelies are too small or just into something else, then make sure you have it in The Plan.

On the walk down the hill, do not get distracted by the show at the Harbour area or the model village, these will be your saving grace later in the day. When you’ve done the rides that are important to you, or the queues have built up, this is the time to start doing all the many other things that are on offer in Legoland.

There are so many things that you can do that will not involve much, if any, queuing at all, for instance:-

1. The Harbour show is always fun for adults and children.
2. The Rat Trap - an adventure playground.
3. The Amazing Mazes -yep, its a maze, but done in a Legoland theme.
4. Enchanted Forest - good for a slow quiet wander, full of Lego animals.
5. Mini Land - do not underestimate this, it’s brilliant. I thought it was going to be the most boring bit of Legoland, but for adults and children, its often the most interesting. Loads of moving boats, cars and trains moving all around a superb model village made of lego bricks. Constantly being updated every year with more and more buildings.
6. Water Works - get the swimming costumes on and let them run in and out of the water jets, great fun and us adults get to sit and watch the mayhem! Take sun tan lotion in summer and swimming costumes.
7. Model Makers Workshop - If you didn’t do it earlier then here’s your chance. Probably more interesting than you think, I shall say no more!
8. Imagination Theatre - Usually a show of some sort, again good entertainment and a chance to sit down!
9. Discovery Zone - A chance to play, build and learn with Lego.
10. Duplo Play Area - A fun area with slides and climbing frames, and seats for us adults! Aimed more towards the younger children.

The following is a list of some of the important things to remember to do and things to bring to help make your day at Legoland as fun and painless as possible.

Checklist

1. Legoland map - check your children’s height before you set off, and make sure of the rides they are able to get on.
2. Tickets - pre-book if possible. We at Langton House are selling tickets as part of our accommodation - see conditions.
3. Food - Sandwiches, drinks and snacks. It is expensive in the park, but there is plenty of room to sit out on the grass and have a picnic, although I have found the food sold in Legoland to be generally very good quality.
4. Show times - Find out the times of the various shows and plan your afternoon around these.
5. Swimming suits - The Water Works is fantastic fun in the hot weather but expect the children to get absolutely drenched!
6. Sun screen - don’t get burnt in the sun, even England gets hot in the summer.
7. Double check that the park is open! It has varied opening times and dates. Don’t make the mistake of turning up to find its closed.

I really think Legoland is a brilliant park for the younger children. After about 11 or so it becomes progressively less interesting and for young teenagers I think other parks like Thorpe Park are better suited. Children under 3 can also find it a bit restrictive, but then again they are free to get in! But don’t let this put you off in any way. Legoland was built as a safe and fun place for the kids to explore. Enjoy your day, don’t expect to get it all done, it now really takes a good day and a half to cover it all. Think about staying in Windsor (at Langton House of course!) and looking around Windsor and using a two day Legoland pass. This way you really will be able to get to the park early with allot less stress and less stress = more fun! The main problem and perhaps the only real criticism with Legoland is that if you are a lone parent and you want to take 2 children, it becomes very difficult unless one or both are old enough to be left on their own, as so many of the rides are based on a parent and child combination.

Above all, remember this guide is only here to aid you.

If nothing else, get there early!

If anyone has any comments, suggestions or updates, please let me know, so that I can pass on good and accurate advice to others.

Lego Facts:- There are 52 Lego bricks for each person on Earth Children spend five billion hours a year playing with Lego bricks If all Lego sets sold in the last 10 years were placed end to end they could reach from London to Perth in Australia A Lego brick is measured to the 2/1000th of a millimetre Source: Lego

If I’ve got anything wrong, let me know and don’t sue me!

Paul Fogg Proprietor at Langton House and survivor of over 35 trips to Legoland!

Legoland was sold in late 2005 to a major entertainments group - this can only be good as we can look forward to much more investment over the coming years. There is expected to be an investment of over £7 million in late 2006 in preparation for the 2007 season. This should be mainly on a brand new ride even larger than the Jungle Coaster. 2006 sees 4 major changes in the park:- Digger Challenge Spellbreaker 4D movie New Johnny Thunder adventure show Miniland London skyline

Please note that the park is really aiming at children from 3 to 12 years old, and even then the extremes in this age range will not get the most out of the park.

How The Easy Chair Millionaire Helped Me Make Money From Home

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 12:55 pm

When I first found the easy chair millionaire it kind a reminded me of the rich jerk. Someone lazy, laid back, and loving life. I bought the rich jerk, and loved what he has to say. So I thought to myself this was probably like the rich jerk, and bought it.

I have to say his attitude in like the rich jerk but the information and the how to guides where a ton of help for me. I really liked the fact that I didn’t need to do to much work, as I can be a very lazy person myself sometimes. A lot of it was already done for me. Of course I had to do some work but not nearly as much as I thought.

The easy chair millionaire took me by the hand and showed me exactly what I had to do. Most people claim to have the answer to everything, and claim to help show you the way. Well the easy chair millionaire defiantly lives up to its name.

The steps where easy to follow, and where so simple even a beginner could do this. There is nothing you will not be able to understand. He has put together one of the best dummy proof systems I have seen in a long time. This isn’t the first product I bought like this. But the easy chair millionaire is by far in my top 3 that I have purchased.

If you are searching for a successful program that will show you how to make extra money online. I highly recommend you take a look at what the easy chair millionaire has to say. You will not be disappointed at all.

October Sky (DVD) Review

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 7:23 am

Overlooked by the Academy Awards and most of the movie viewing public, October Sky turned out to be one of the best movies of 1999. Based on the true life story of Homer Hickman, a coalminer’s son inspired to learn about rocketry following the launch of the Soviet satellite Sputnik, October Sky is more than just a film about rockets, it’s a film about one man overcoming the trials and tribulations that attempt to run him down. The emphasis placed on the passion of the human spirit and its ability to overcome great conflict and achieve feats of wondrous heights makes October Sky a film that is certain to enjoy an enduring legacy and a heightening in stature among critics with the passing of time…

Set in a 1950s West Virginia town, October Sky follows the life of Homer Hickman (Jake Gyllenhaal), the teenage son of a coalminer who pushes his son to follow in his footsteps. Growing up in a town where coal is king, the citizens of Homer’s world can’t fathom pursuing a career in any other field. But when Homer’s classroom is informed of the Soviet launch of Sputnik, the satellite inspires Homer to learn everything he can about rockets, satellites, and inner-orbiting spacecraft. Goaded on by their teacher Frieda Riley (Laura Dern), Homer and his friends study the various aspects of a rocket launch and begin staging the launch of their own homemade rockets. But their trial and error experiments go awry, putting the local townspeople in the path of their errant rocket launches, and they incur the wrath and disdain of a community that views them as freaks and outcasts.

As Homer’s father becomes ill from the deadly effects of coal dust, he pushes his son to support the family by entering the mine. Unable to see the bright potential of his son’s interest in rockets, John Hickman (Chris Cooper) battles Homer every step of the way as he pursues his passion. But Homer remains committed, and when he and his friends begin launching rockets from a new site outside of town, more and more people begin showing up to see the brilliant spectacle… When Homer’s hero, German rocket scientist and NASA engineer Wernher von Braun, replies to a letter Homer wrote, the path is cleared for the students to exhibit their work at the National Science Awards.

Encouraged by Miss Riley, Homer and his friends are prepared to put their entire future on the line at this one exhibition, where the prize includes fully paid scholarships to some of the top universities in America…

The inspiring tale of a boy and his friends who never give up on believing in themselves, October Sky is a feel-good movie reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra. Outside of the traditional mold of action super-thriller or blood-spilling reality drama, October Sky bucks the trend of cinematic commercialism by offering its audience a more intelligent foray into the world of film and storytelling. This trend toward quality cinematography is one we can only hope will continue. Sporting a colorful cast of characters rife with conflict and passion, October Sky is a definite must-see film that you won’t want to miss.

Great Tips for Preparing Deviled Eggs

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 7:23 am

Can you guess which is the most common meal prepared at Easter dinner? Before answering, you should have in mind that something has to be done with all those eggs you boiled and colored. Deviled eggs are an easy to prepare meal, which you can serve at Easter dinner. The deviled eggs are simple to cook because they are just halved hard-cooked eggs with the yolk mashed with mayonnaise and seasonings and returned to the white.

We all love when our joyful event is decorated by the colored eggs. The Easter eggs are so lovely when they are dyed spring colors of blue, green and pink. However, the Easter Bunny always leaves too many eggs. These eggs can be used to prepare deviled eggs. Nevertheless, the deviled eggs cannot be cooked just for Easter.

Deviled eggs can be served for all kinds of occasions. At Christmas, you can put deviled eggs beside the honey-baked ham. Thanksgiving while the turkey is occupying the center of the table, you can serve the deviled eggs as a complement. You can even offer them as a snack when someone comes for a visit. Probably all people will love to see deviled eggs on the table.

Preparing deviled eggs is as easy as to boil an egg. I tell you this to know that if you have never cooked deviled eggs, it will not be a hard task for you. Here are some of the products you will need while preparing deviled eggs: several eggs, mayonnaise (or white salad dressing if you prefer), dill, mustard or sweet pickle relish (your choice) and sweet or hot paprika.

Before you start preparing the mixture for the deviled eggs, you will have to boil the eggs. The important thing is to make sure that you have fully cooked eggs. The making of deviled eggs requires fully cooked eggs. The pot you are going to use must be big enough so that all the eggs and the water will be able to fit in. see for yourself that in the pot there is enough space for the eggs, the water, and extra boiling room. Put the eggs in the stockpot. Then fill the pot with water so that the water surface will be at least an inch over the eggs. Place the pot on the stove. Turn the heat on high.

When you notice that the water become to boil, place a lid on the pot and turn the heat on medium low. Now, you should leave the eggs for fifteen minutes. Then, take the pot from the stove and cautiously put the eggs in cold water. Peel the eggs when they are cooled. By now, you managed to accomplish the most difficult task of the complete preparing of deviled eggs.

The next step is to cut the eggs. Cut them in two halves in the direction of the length. Remove the yolks and place the empty white on a tray. Put the egg yolks into a bowl. Then, mash the yolks with ¼ cup mayo/salad dressing, 3 tablespoons mustard and, 2 tablespoons relish. For well-prepared deviled eggs, you should fill up the mixture into the empty whites using a nylon bag. Make a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag. Squeeze the deviled eggs mixture into the whites. Put as much mixture as you want.

When you are finished with this, powder with sweet paprika or you may prefer hot paprika but first make sure what effect the hot paprika wile have on your deviled eggs. The deviled eggs are ready to be served after you cool them in a fridge for a few hours.

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunshineblog @ 12:33 am

The Youth Athlete has many responsibilities and duties as they participate in their sport. They have responsibilities to themselves and their parents, their teammates, their coaches, their opponents, and the referees.

In order for an athlete to enjoy the positive benefits of participating in youth sports, their responsibilities must first be clearly defined and understood. These responsibilities should be communicated from the coach to the athletes and their parents before the season gets under way. When their responsibilities are clearly defined, the youth athlete is much more willing to accept and carry these out throughout the season.

An enjoyable experience in youth sports is one that places many demands on the youth athlete while at the same time providing them with many positive benefits. These demands can only be met and these benefits can only be realized when the athlete is taught to be a responsible part of their team.

As they participate in sports, the youth athlete should put a tremendous amount of effort into following the ten responsibilities listed below. By doing this, they are putting themselves, their teammates and their coaches in a much better position to enjoy their youth sports experience.
