The Traditional American Game

Like life in traditional society, but unlike football and basketball, the other two major American team sports, baseball is not governed by the clock and amazes many foreigners that it is the national sport in a fast-paced United States. Being a very popular team sport, apart from North America also in Latin America, the Caribbean and East Asia, baseball is a bat-and-ball game in which a pitcher throws a fist-sized hard ball past the hitting area of a batter. The batter, who belongs to the other team, then attempts to hit the ball with a smooth, cylindrical bat made of wood or metal. The team will score only when the batter manages to successfully batting the ball and then runs over four markers existing on the diamond-shaped baseball field, placed on a ninety feet distance from each other and called bases, while his opponents try at the same time to catch the ball and successfully throw it by using their hands to their teammates located at each of the four bases before the batter manages to cover the last ninety feet and reach the last base.

While a football game comprises exactly sixty minutes of play and a basketball game forty or forty-eight minutes, baseball has no set game duration. The pace of the game is therefore leisurely and unhurried, like the world was once, before the deadlines, schedules and hour wages. As a matter of fact, baseball belongs to that time when people had all day to play a game. Much like traditional rural life, baseball proceeds according to the rhythm of nature, specifically the rotation of the Earth around itself and the Sun. In fact, during its early years, baseball was not played during the night, which meant that this traditional leisure game was over before sunset at the latest.

Today, the baseball season follows a traditional pace, following the cycle of the active part of the agricultural year. Baseball season begins with the coming of spring, stretches through the long hot days of the summer, and culminates, like the growing season with its harvest, in the fall. From November through March, baseball players were inactive once, but now most of them migrate to the warmer climates of Central and South America.

Finally, just as rural societies everywhere observed the three phases of the growing season with festivals, so does baseball. There is the opening day of the season marked by the arrival of spring. Then the annual All-Star Game matching the best players from the two major leagues comes in midsummer, and last in October, the baseball championship competition called World Series, often called the fall classic, begins.

With worldwide famous players, like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio, baseball’s golden age transformed these sports athletes to epic figures who inspired many and reminded people why keeping our roots alive should be considered of extreme importance. In fact, a measure of baseball’s standing at the heart of American life is its transcendence of the boundary between popular and high culture. More than the other two favorite American sports, baseball has had a crossover appeal, attracting interest from groups with little else in common. It is first and foremost a form of popular entertainment. But it has also been the subject of serious literally treatment and rigorous quantitative analysis. In the national life of the United States, baseball has made a place for itself in both the arts and sciences.

Sunless Tan Tips and Tricks

Everyone wants that healthy glow. Here’s how to get one without the use of the sun or tanning beds.

You can have a glowing tan all year round. Stay out of the sun and give your skin a natural looking tan with a sunless tanning lotion. They’ve come a long way in the past few years. No more orange skin! This is the procedure I follow when applying sunless tanning lotions. I’ve been using them for years and have found that this way works the best.

First, shower and exfoliate with a buffing cream, sugar scrub, or loofah all over, concentrating on your drier areas like elbows, heels and knees. After your shower, apply moisturizer to those drier areas. Put on disposable gloves and apply sunless tanner full strength or use equal parts of sunless tanner with body lotion or a sunscreen lotion. Go back over drier areas with an old towel to absorb excess tanner. Try applying the sunless tanner to tops of feet with a cosmetic wedge. This will allow you to control the application better. Careful between the toes! The lotion tends to pool there. If you didn’t wear gloves, wash your palms thoroughly at this point. Wear old/loose clothing around the house for about 20 minutes before dressing. If you don’t have a sunless tanner made especially for faces, follow these steps if you want to use the tanner on your face as well.Start with clean dry face, no makeup or oil. Put petroleum jelly on eyebrows and along hairline. Use dime-sized amount of sunless tanner mixed with facial moisturizer and massage in a circular motion, avoiding eyelids, apply lightly around lips and chin. Spread up to hairline and behind ears. Wipe off the petroleum jelly and adjust your makeup accordingly. To maintain your tan, reapply every 3-5 days. After showering, pat dry - don’t rub. Use a moisturizing lotion daily. If your skin starts to look scaly, slough off the dead skin cells by repeating the process from the beginning.

Other helpful hints:

Careful on the inner part of your elbows. Lotion will tend to pool into the crevices here and you’ll end up with darker areas.

If joints are too dark, use the scrub. Streaks? Tone them down with a cotton ball soaked in astringent, nail polish remover, or a slice of lemon. If you missed a spot, apply sunless tanner to the area, wait for it to dry, and apply another light layer over it and the surrounding area to blend. If your palms are too dark because you didn’t wear gloves, use a sugar scrub or wash your hair. Shampoo will fade the color on your hands. Not dark enough? Reapply the next day for a darker tan.

And there you have it! Treat yourself to a sun-kissed glow today!

What Are The Characteristics Of Collies?

Collies were initially bred to herd sheep. The AKC classifies the Collie among the Herding Group. This breed is graceful and has plenty of endurance. They weigh between 55 to 80 pounds and stand from 22 to 26 inches tall. Whether brown or blue in color, their almond shaped eyes appear to gleam with intelligence. The prick ears of the Collie give it the appearance of always being alert. They can be smooth or rough coated. the rough coat of a Collie is fuller and longer than a smooth coated Collie. The Collie comes in white, sable, tricolor or blue merle colors.

They are very active and have a protective instinct which makes this breed an excellent family dog. The Collie takes its duties as a watchdog very seriously. He barks at all intruders, whether people, animals or pieces of trash that is blowing around in the yard. Not all Collies are diligent protectors. Some of these dogs can be nervous and very high strung. Most of them are wonderful with children, however. A Collie loves to spend time outside and therefore would not be a good choice for apartment living.

The Collie can be headstrong and can get into a lot of mischief while a puppy. It is recommended that you attend obedience training with your Collie. It is easier to train a puppy that hasn’t developed bad habits than an older dog. It is important to be firm with your Collie if you don’t want him on your furniture. If allowed on your furniture he will feel he has the right to be there.

The Collie has minimal health problems. PRA and eye diseases are the most common problems for these dogs. Your Collie is much more likely to be taken to the veterinarian because he has injured himself while jumping around and exploring his surroundings than for a health problem.

Collies have a tendency to overeat and can pack away a lot of food. It is recommended that they be given three small meals each day. If he develops a bulging middle, speak with your veterinarian about possible dog foods that promote weight loss.

Collies do not require extensive grooming, but you want to brush through their coats several times a week to avoid matting. Pay attention to the hair around his face, around his legs and behind the ears.

If you’re looking for an intelligent family dog, one that will protect your family and play with your kids, then the Collie is the perfect pet for you.

What Causes Anxiety Disorder?

Several of our members have asked: What causes an anxiety disorder? And which of these causes do I have control over? Here are answers to these important questions.

What Causes an Anxiety Disorder?

There are several factors that can contribute to an anxiety disorder. An anxiety disorder is caused by a combination of several of these factors working together over a period of time. Usually one factor alone does not result in an anxiety disorder.

Several of the contributing factors are:

– Biological Factors
– Stress Overload/Lifestyle Factors
– Childhood Environment
– Thought Patterns
– Genetic Factors

Biological Factors

We all have an inborn fight or flight response designed to protect us from harm. When our survival is threatened, the fight or flight response creates physical and psychological changes that encourage us to act and protect our survival. These changes include rapid heartbeat, muscle tension, shallow breathing, and more.

People suffering from anxiety disorders often have a physical overreaction to stress. This overreaction occurs because your body perceives everyday events and situations as threats to survival. In an effort to protect you, your body triggers the fight or flight response even though no real danger exists.

There is some indication that an overreaction to stress is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. However, we don’t know what initially causes this chemical imbalance. It has not been proven which occurs first - the overreaction to stress that causes the chemical imbalance, or the chemical imbalance that causes the overreaction to stress.

Can I change it?: Yes. What’s important to realize is that if you overreact to stress, you can learn to change it, no matter how it began. You can learn deep breathing tech- niques, relaxation techniques, and techniques such as the Anxiety Pyramid (all included in our course) to train your body to react more calmly.

Stress Overload/Lifestyle Factors

When you experience excessive stress over time, your body can trigger the fight or flight response and start to react to daily events as if they were dangers. Poor lifestyle habits such as overwork, lack of sleep, poor diet, and lack of regular exercise can cause unnecessary stress and promote anxiety.

Let’s look at an example of how stress overload and lifestyle factors can contribute to anxiety. Donna works 70 hours a week for several years. This puts excessive stress on Donna’s body. To make matters worse, Donna is so busy working that she only manages to get five or six hours of sleep a night, she doesn’t exercise regularly, and she eats mainly fast food. She can’t remember the last time she took time out for herself.

Do you see how Donna’s lifestyle creates stress in her life and produces a negative snowball effect? Over time Donna’s body starts perceiving these constant stressors as a threat to her survival. Her body eventually gets burned out from repeated unnecessary stress reactions. It is on a constant state of alert - contributing to the physical and mental symptoms of anxiety.

Can I change it?: Yes. You have the power to reduce or eliminate many of the stressors in your life. You do this by integrating healthy lifestyle habits - by making choices that promote calmness, self-care, and a balanced lifestyle. For example, sleep eight hours a night instead of six. Eat well-balanced, healthy meals. Work 40-50 hours a week instead of 70, and so on.

You can also learn to view stressors in a less anxious way so your body does not overreact to stressors when they occur.

Childhood Environment

Your childhood environment affects how you think and act as an adult. Even though the adults around you meant well, as a child you may have learned habits and beliefs that contribute to anxiety.

For example, you may not have been taught to have a sense of control over your world. You may have been expected to achieve as a way of gaining love and acceptance. You may have been taught all or nothing thinking or were not allowed to freely express your feelings or opinions. You may have grown up in an environment that was not physically or emotionally safe. You may have been frequently judged or criticized. Or you may have grown up watching and modeling adults around you that reacted to life in an anxious way.

Can I change it?: Yes. No matter what your childhood environment was, you can change the anxiety-producing thought patterns and habits you learned then through knowledge and practice.

Thought Patterns

How you think affects how you view the world and how you react to stress. Negative thought patterns like what-if thinking, perfectionism, all or nothing thinking, and victim talk can contribute to an anxiety disorder. In fact, negative thoughts can actually create physical symptoms in your body.

Can I change it?: Yes. Research shows that you have the power to change your thoughts, which can in turn affect how you physically and mentally feel. Through healthier thoughts, you can learn to view the world in a less anxious way and feel better.

How do you change your thoughts? By using the three R s we discussed in the last newsletter: Recognize, Replace, and Reinforce.

Genetic Factors

Research shows that panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder tend to run in families. Although there is some debate, it appears that part of this family tendency is due to how you’re brought up (environment) and part is due to genetics. There is some indication that genetic factors are also involved in social anxiety.

Can I change it?: No. We cannot change our genes. That’s the bad news. Now here’s the good news. You can positively change all of the other factors we discussed that contribute to anxiety.

And like we mentioned earlier, usually one factor alone does not result in an anxiety disorder. This is exciting news! It means that if you learn to successfully address the other factors that contribute to anxiety, you can conquer your anxiety in spite of genetic factors.

Never before has such a book hit the market!
– T. Wilsom

Without Money to be Made Online I?d be lost!
– Sue Hemmings

A few years ago, before online marketing became my full time job, I had the same life as most other workers, I worked. The thing about work is that you don?t like to do it. Often people associate work with a ?job? and a ?boss.? But wouldn?t you like to be your OWN boss?

It wasn?t until I ran across this booklet that my online career started to sky rocket. Today I?m going to compare this book to others, and exaplin why exactly it?s the only book I recommend to my trainees and colleagues.

First of all, numbers count. In the game of online marketing and selling products, whether they?re third party or your own, people like numbers. Everyone likes to get 2 free bonuses with their purchase. When you buy Money to Be Made Online, you get the bonuses, plus more. The book is filled with over 877 tips and tricks, that have taken years to accumulate.

Instead of scouring the internet, signing up for mass email lists, dealing with ridiculous amounts of spam, and even spending money on countless eBooks, I recommend everyone I know in the industry to one simple book. There are many unique attributes that I wont go into here, but I want to let you know just a few.

It?s not about the quantity of the tips or tricks, but the quality. Each chapter builds on the last, introducing a perspective of online marketing rarely seen. This book is changing how people do things. What took me nearly 4 years to learn, is detailed in this book in ways that surpass my level of expression! It?s simplistic yet detailed, straight forward and matter of fact. This book is no joke.

Every time I read the book I learn something new, and I?m always referencing to it. Without this I would?ve been a lost dog with no cause. However my business was saved because I went from A to Z, cover to cover, and applied what I learned.

I want to take some time to stress the importance of knowledge. Knowledge in this industry is what saves time and money. But more importantly it?s about how you use that knowledge. Money to Be Made Online not only tells you ?what?s up,? but ?how to.? With Money to Be Made Online your business will experience a change like never before.

I personally use the book as a reminder of all the hard work I?ve done, and the responsibility I have to my customers to provide the best of services. That?s what it basically comes down to in any business, service.

With Money to Be Made Online I learned about the concepts that drive business, what makes people buy your product, and why people don?t buy your product. It?s not about convincing people to buy, but the way you ?let them know? that you provide a service is crucial.

One of the most important lessons I learned from Money to Be Made Online is that you can?t pressure the customer, but by hard work and real quality products, your business will grow. You must always remember, you serve the customer, and in exchange the return a piece of their services, in cash form. They too have services they provide to other people.

All in all I?d recommend this book to just about anybody. Not only has it helped me online, but it opened my eyes to what life is about. We?re here to serve, and I do it with pride!

Simple And Easy Tips To Overcome Depression

If you know the symptoms of depression, you should also know some strategies for reducing the problem. Depression can be the result of many things, and it is necessary that you avoid those circumstances that upset you or make you feel depressed.

Every day, stories appear in print media and television that are mostly negative, highlighting the economic and social deprivations of humanity. Stories focused on destruction, war, crime, doom and despair will only aggravate the problem of depression rather than solve it. Avoid reading such negative stories and events. Helplessness will only add to your depression, rather than cure it.

Moreover, always see the positive side of life. Say good things about others, share with them your most memorable moments, and set aside all such moments that depress you.

Indulge yourself in lots of physical exercises. A healthy body is the root to a healthy mind, attitude, and thinking. Regular practice of breathing exercises will help you overcome your depression problems. These tips to reduce depression are simple but can work wonders if followed with determination and will.

Do not keep too many goals and expectations that will depress you further. Always keep aside one important goal that you think is necessary to achieve. When you try for many things at one go, you only aggravate the problem of depression.

There are many research materials and information available on depression and also its effective treatment. You can go through a vast array of information and make those important decisions about your health and ways to cope with your health problems. Although you can reduce the problem by applying the useful tips mentioned on online websites and books on depression, it is your psychiatrist who can really help you out in curing the problem.

Depression causes a serious imbalance of brain chemicals and many other internal changes that need serious medication and treatment. It is not something you should be ashamed of. Depression is just like any other illness which just needs full support from the family. Always have a hopeful heart. It is a must to overcome depression.

Make few but good friends who will be always there to support you in good and bad times. Never allow depression to grow in isolation. Make it a point to have your near and dear ones around you. Socialize as much as you can when you feel depressed. That will mitigate your problem to a great extent. Watch good movies, especially comedy, or visit funny and humorous web sites or read funny books. Light things will make you feel good and reduce your depression problem.

Positive thinking always gets your brain going. Involve yourself into lots of singing and dancing activities that will signal that your brain is really happy. Go for lively music that really rejuvenates the mind and soul and overcomes your depression. Try to engage yourself in as many activities as possible. A healthy routine must be followed to keep your body and mind healthy. Physical exercises affect your brain chemicals, and this can really help in reducing you depression problems.

Try to hold as few grudges as you can. This can only aggravate your frustration level and cause depression. The more you learn to forgive and forget, the better for you. Always reserve a quiet time where you can spend quality time with yourself. This certainly does not mean isolation. It is essential because this is the time you give to yourself.

My Slow PC

Question: Why is my computer running so slow? Do computers slow down when they get older?

Answer: No, but here are some of the most common reasons a computer slows down.

Background programs running:

This is the biggest reason and can be fixed quickly and for free… it’s possible that your computer may have so many background programs running simultaneously that there is not enough resources to run normally.

The end result of this is that your computer begins to run more and more slowly over time as you add other programs.

There are two remedies, get Anti-Spyware and use the feature which allows you to view running programs and to disable any of those running programs. Or, if you like to get into your system with your bare hands, use the remedy below.

How to disable unneeded background programs:

All icons in your computer’s system tray are background programs using memory. There are more, but you will get a hint from that system tray. To see and exit all running background programs:

Windows 95 - ME

*
a. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys at the same time.
*
b. Click any program or task except Explorer or Systray,
*
c. and then click End Task.

Repeat steps b and c to quit all programs except Explorer and Systray which are necessary components of Microsoft Windows.

You should now have a clean system. See if the computer runs like it used to… if it does, you will want to prevent those programs from restarting the next time you start the computer.

If you don’t want any background programs starting when you restart the system, and you know what you are doing, you can run msconfig from the run menu and completely disable what you find in the ‘Startup’ tab. If you aren’t that experienced and you want a safe way to disable all those unneeded background programs, get the remedy recommended for the spyware on this page. It has a feature allowing you to disable startup programs safely.

Windows XP through 2003 Server

*
a. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys at the same time.
*
b. Choose ‘Task Manager’ tab to view and end any running programs.
*
c. disabling these programs will require that you change their startup properties in the ‘Administrative Tools’ area of your system. The Windows Help menu will walk you though that process if you search ‘disable programs’ in your help section.

Spyware:

Many kinds of software add themselves to your system start menu without even asking your permission. Sometimes you will click on a link or visit a hacker website that installs spyware on your computer without you knowing. Click here for the best fix. and its free to try.

Fragmented hard drive:

This results from programs being loaded and deleted. Run the Window’s hard drive defragmenter (Defrag) once a month. It is under your System Tools menu. Your computer’s help menu will tell you how to do it.

Other problems: (Possible, but unlikely to cause problems)

You could have old or conflicting Windows device drivers. An example would be you might actually have two entirely different video drivers on your system and Windows could actually be alternately using both of them.

To prevent this problem, First boot the computer in Safe Mode by pressing and holding the F8 key during startup, after the DOS memory check has completed.

While in Safe Mode select Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Devices. Click on all the devices and see if the various drivers have any yellow or red exclamation marks (which indicates a driver conflict) and also determine if there are any duplicate drivers that can be eliminated.

You may have to delete and reload a driver to correct these problems. Duplicate drivers can and should be deleted.

As each new Windows program is installed and uninstalled, it leaves behind parts of itself that can slow down or crash your computer. These are mostly .dlls and other shared files.

It’s also very possible when uninstalling a program that needed Windows system files can be deleted. When your computer asks if you want to uninstall shared files it’s usually safest to say no — even if your uninstall program claims the files are not being used.

Old Windows drivers can be found by booting into Safe Mode, then opening Control Panel/System/Devices and ridding your system of old drivers.

Otherwise, the only real answer to this problem is to pick up ERROR DOCTOR or just reload Windows into a new directory which eliminates all old junk and leftover files. Reloading Windows is something to do last, as you will also have to reload all your Windows settings, drivers, and programs.

You could be lacking system memory - The only time this may be a problem is if you have an older system and upgraded your operating system without adding some more memory. You should probably upgrade to 256 or 512MB or more of system memory, while it isn’t free, it isn’t very expensive like it was at one time. Check out Tiger Direct to find great deals on memory upgrades.

The History Of Ferrets

Ferrets are a lot of fun in a small package. But where did they come from? Have people always kept them as pets?

The history of ferrets dates back many, many years. For those that are looking for a pet that has been around a long time, the ferret may just right. Today, they seem unique and different from the common dog or cat, but they have been pets, or at least domesticated, for quite a long time. The ferret’s history can be traced well back into the times of the ancient Egyptians. These people used them to guard their grain supplies. This is not certain, because many believe that Europeans mistook cats for ferrets. Nevertheless, these pets have been around for a very long time.

The history of these pets dates back for years. They have been found in remains that date back to the time of the Egyptians, but it may be much longer than that that they have been around. In ancient history, these animals were not necessarily pets. They are thought to have been domesticated approximately 1500 years ago.

It is thought that the ferret was bred from the European Polecat, thought it may be that they were bred from the steppe polecat. In either case, the animals seem to have a high level of similarity in their features, and it is through this they are related. While the history of the ferret is something that we may not ever know, it is definite that they have had a role in the lives of people throughout history.

The ferret is a creature that can adapt to fit the lifestyle that it needs. Its body and its curiosity are supposed to have been bred for hunting, as they could easily get down into holes to get their prey. They may have been bred for their abilities as well. Many of them are quite smart, and have been used to carry lines through tight holes and much more.

Clearly, throughout the ages, people have recognized the value of the ferret as working animal.

Sicko and Bill Clinton on Health and Wellness Trends

Have you watched Sicko already? It is very worth doing so.

In order to help put the health problem we are living in better perspective, let me share now some of the insights and advice that Bill Clinton gave us in San Francisco recently at the Healthetc event sponsored by California Pacific Medical Center and KCBS.

Some of the speech highlights:

1) Clinton’s great overview of key comparative data:

* 16 vs 10-11: % GDP spent on health care in the US vs. other industrialized countries. This percentage difference equals around $800 billion annually!

* 84 vs 100: % population with some form of health insurance in the US vs. other countries

* 34 and 37: ranking of the US system as measured by health outcomes and life expectancy, respectively

* 34 vs 19: % health care costs spent on administration in the US vs. other countries

2) President Clinton then outlined the 3 main problems with US Healthcare as follows, empathizing that any serious, long-term solution needs to address these 3 elements as a whole:

* immoral unequal coverage, where a large percentage of citizens lack access to quality care

* inefficient system: we pay more for less, as you could see in Sicko

* we still focus more on disease than on health. But he is hopeful about an increasing focus on wellness, absolutely necessary to alleviate future cost pressures

3) Now, let’s reflect on couple of (approximate) quotes with profound wisdom

* I am a testimonial for the best of American medicine. Given my heart problems, it is a miracle I am here with you today. These days I cannot stay more than 5 minutes in a bad mood, because I remind myself how fortunate I am simply to be alive

* (when people were clapping and cheering to easy sound bites while he was still trying to make a complex point) Please stop. I don’t want you to boo or cheer, simply to think on your own

Amazing words.

In the afternoon, after his speech, we spent some time talking with health providers and attending some panels, such as the one put together by the Alzheimer’s Association on ways to prevent or delay Alzheimer’s.

We were surprised at the amount of education still needed to make the medical and health community incorporate science-based advice on lifelong learning and mental stimulation on top of traditional advice around nutrition and physical exercise. The Alzheimer’s Association is being one of the pioneers with their Maintain Your Brain campaign, suggesting a comprehensive set of health and wellness guidelines we should all follow:

1) Stay mentally active: Mentally stimulating activities strengthen brain cells and the connections between them, and may even create new nerve cells.

2) Remain socially active: Social activity not only makes physical and mental activity more enjoyable, it can reduce stress levels, which helps maintain healthy connections among brain cells

3) Stay physically active: Physical exercise is essential for maintaining good blood flow to the brain as well as to encourage new brain cells. It also can significantly reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes, and thereby protect against those risk factors for Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

4) Adopt a brain-healthy diet: Research suggests that high cholesterol may contribute to stroke and brain cell damage. A low fat, low cholesterol diet is advisable. And there is growing evidence that a diet rich in dark vegetables and fruits, which contain antioxidants, may help protect brain cells.

No doubt, Bill Clinton would agree with the importance of these guidelines to ensure Baby Boomers can age in a healthy way and prevent the health care system from being overwhelmed with Alzheimer’s related costs.

Let’s watch with attention what the presidential candidates propose to deal with this situation.

Drawing What You Need Towards You

I walked away with my tail between my legs. Sure, the error was all mine. I had a list of people I’d spoken to and one name was really obscure and neither Jo nor I knew who they were.

I sat down and thought about it. ‘Who are you?’ I asked. ‘Make yourself known to me again?’

With that I turned my attention to other matters. That’s when the phone rang and the person on the list revealed themselves to me.

Now if we want to be cynical we could say that the materialisation of that phone call was just coincidence - that this person just happened to call and remind me who they were. But what are the chances?

First, I just happened to have written the name badly on the list. Second, Jo just happened to spot my error. Third, we just happened to be discussing the person. Fourth, I just happened to ask for that person to make themselves known to me again. And it all just happened to happen, in the space of an hour.

What odds would you give on that happening?

This kind of thing happens to me too often for me to doubt that there is some greater connection going on between all our minds - a higher awareness.

How does it work?

First we ask for things. Second we have to be consciously aware of what’s happening to us. It’s important that we follow events as they unfold rather than letting our mind get in the way. It’s also important to do it with a sense of humour and to celebrate in some way when the universe provides.

As soon as our mind gets in the way we break the chain of events and distort what the universe is creating - often ending up with something we didn’t want.

When we put our attention on finding a solution or a person we are brought into connection with minds - sometimes people we know, sometimes people we didn’t know - who are prepared to answer our call for help.

These people have the will to help, if you have the will to let them in. What often occurs when our call is answered is a discussion to see if help is possible. Oddly, as a quirk of human nature, we sometimes repel people who come to help and either we reject them or they decide they just cannot help us.

While I know synchronicity happens, I’m in no way attached to it happening. I put out a call for things and get on with life. There is no hankering. I ask, then I read, jog, make phone calls or do whatever I have to do while staying open to what happens.

I think it’s fair to say that attachment to an outcome is the biggest block that can get in the way. The times in my life when I’ve had no money are the hardest times to create money. When I’ve been in pain, it’s hard to imagine no pain.

But each time I’ve asked for a person to show up who can guide me (that’s guide me - not do for me), they’ve shown up and helped me. From their life got better.

You’ll find some very simple tips below. Please take note, this is a very simple version I’m giving you because all our situations differ. This basic outline is however workable for us all.

1. Think of one think that you feel you life needs right now.

2. Be clear on what you want.

3. Write it down

4. See it happening in the mind.

5. Now go about your daily life, aware that answers will come to direct you.

6. Keep doubt out. Stay positive.
