The Piano - Key, Hammer And String - Part 1

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 6:17 pm

The piano, while similar in some of its features too many other kinds of musical instruments, differs materially in several important points from all other kinds. It resembles the Violin, Harp, Guitar, Zither, Dulcimer, in its being stringed. It resembles the Drum, Triangle, Cymbals, Tambourine, Dulcimer, in its being dependent on percussion for the production of its tone; and it resembles the Organ, Clarinet, Concertina, in its being keyed.

But it differs from all of these instruments in the following important points. Firstly, in its being dependent on the player’s method of finger push on the key for its quality of tone. Secondly, in its being dependent on rapidity of finger push for its quantity of tone and thirdly, in its being dependent on keys for the means of producing percussion. The actual mechanism of percussion, namely, the hammers, being reachable only through the pressing of the keys.

It is probably from a want of appreciation of this last fact, that the piano has come to be considered rather as a keyed instrument than as a stringed one.

The distinctive feature of the piano is, then, the system of its key mechanism.

As the seat of tone, the wire, is made to sound only by a series of communication, starting with the key, it is therefore necessary to understand the method by which this communication is conducted and kept open.

The piano key is, basically, a lever that’s lifts the hammer that strikes the string. It is a lever of the first class, its fulcrum, or prop, lying between the power and the weight. In the case of the piano, this fulcrum, or centre on which the lever works, is placed about halfway between its two ends, the hammer (with some small intermediate mechanism) being the weight, and the finger the power acting on it. The very limited area should be noticed within which the action of the key is confined.

The immediate factor of tone is the hammer. The hammer, by means of intermediate mechanism, being in direct and close contact with the far end of the key, is raised when the near end is depressed by the finger or any weight; and the force with which the hammer is made to strike the string is in proportion to the speed brought to bear on the piano key by the finger at the moment of the push. Quantity of tone is thus the result of the amount of speed used in pushing the key down.

When the string has been struck by the hammer, the hammer falls back immediately, to allow the string to vibrate freely. This fallback of the hammer is, however, not a return to the position occupied by it before the stroke; it does not fall completely back until the key is allowed to rise. When the piano key rises, the hammer returns to its original position, and is ready for the next key push.

It is of great importance for the student to remember that the hammer is always at some distance from the wire. Except during the very short period of time spent in striking; that after having struck the wire it leaves it instantaneously to assume the half position described above; and that it is powerless to do any more work until after the key has been allowed to rise.

Dog Breeds 101

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 5:01 pm

For thousands of years now, dogs have been selectively bred to produce varieties with characteristics superior to their predecessors. At first, the breeding focused on the dog’s use, for example its hunting ability. This resulted in a vast diversity of dog breeds. But it did not stop there, later dogs were bred for more distinct and attractive forms.

A variety of dogs can be called a breed (distinct kind of family) on the condition that its parents have offspring of the same characteristics (e.g. behavior and characteristics). This is called true breeding.

Generally speaking, the majority of traditional breeds are termed purebreds . Domestic dogs in general are called Canis familiaries.

The following are the different classifications of dog breeds:

* Bulldogs
* Extinct dog breeds
* Cur
* Fighting dogs
* Gun dogs, including Pointers, Retrievers, and Spaniels
* Herding, including Sheepdogs
* Hounds, including Sight hounds and Scent hounds
* Sled dog
* Hunting
* Toy
* Terrier
* Working (or Utility)

However, these can be further classified into smaller but similar dog breeds, such as the Lurchers, Mastiff types, Pitbulls and Spitz types.

The herding breed is most commonly known as the sheepdogs. They have the ability to control the behavior (specifically the movements) of other animals. These are usually an intelligent type of dogs and are devoted to their owners, whom they consider partners, for they normally use their own judgement as well as their owner’s commands. Most forms of this breed have the tendency to drive and to gather the herd.

The examples of the herding type are Puli, Briard, German Shepherd, Collie, and Old English Sheep dog.

The oldest dog breeds is the hounds. They are differentiated into two categories:

* Sight hounds — which hunt by sight and include the greyhound build.
* Scent hounds — which hunt by scent and include the foxhound build.
* Some breeds have the combination of both and some don’t look like hound dogs at all.

The examples of which are the Basenji, Basset hound, English Foxhound, Saluki and the Beagle.

On the other hand, are the non-sporting dogs, also known as the companion dog breeds. This is the most diverse of all dog breeds and is sometimes considered the catchall for dog types that cannot be categorized elsewhere. The following are the examples of this dog breed: Bulldog, Boston terrier, Dalmatian, Chinese Shar-pei, French Bulldog, Standard and Miniature Poodle, and Tibetan Terrier.

The sporting breed are the modern hunters. In general, they work with hunters to complement the hunter’s abilities. Setting and pointing breeds work by locating game for the hunter. Spaniels are known for flushing out the game so the hunter may shoot the prey. The retrievers bring the game back to the hunter. Examples of this type are the Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, English Setter, Field Spaniel, Pointer and the Sussex Spaniel.

The terrier group includes the dogs that hunt for rodents and other vermin found near the ground. The term terrier actually originated with the word terra, which means earth. Some were later bred to fight against one another. Vermin-catching terriers are further classified into two types: the long-legged and the short-legged.

Examples of this dog breed are the Irish Terrier, Bull Terrier, Lakeland Terrier, and the Miniature Bull Terrier.

The toy dogs are usually comprised of the miniature version of the other groups of dogs. However, quite a number of these types are ancient in origin, which makes it difficult to trace them with other dog varieties. This group includes: Chihuahua, Papillion, Japanese Chin, Poodle, Pug, and the Toy Fox Terrier.

The working dogs on the other hand are known for their intelligence and hardiness. They are sub-divided into:

* Sledding breeds
* Protecting or guarding breeds
* Rescue breeds
* Carting breeds

Examples of this dog breed are the Boxer, Alaskan Malamute, Bull mastiff, Great Dane, Doberman, Newfoundland, and Rottweiler.

The Tao of Carmen Electra

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 5:44 pm

Carmen Electra is a well-known American entertainer, model, television personality and actress. She has her toes and in many different performance fields but has never achieved breakout success in any single one of them. She is better known for her racy and flamboyant antics than for anything she has ever accomplished and the arts or entertainment industry.

Her real name is Tara Leigh Patrick and she was born on April 20th, in White Oak, Ohio. Her family is of German, Irish, and Native American descent. When she turned nine she went to a performance arts school, where she practiced her singing voice and dancing ability. When she was a teenager she picked up stakes and went to Minneapolis where she found work as a model for Target. She moved in with her sister. If A few years later in 1992, she relocated to LA where she immediately met the famous singer Prince, one of Minneapolis’ well-known sons.

Prince was so enamored with Tara’s look that he signed her up with his record label, Paisley Park Records, and talked her into renaming herself Carmen Electra. Prince was always renaming beautiful girls. Unfortunately, even though Prince did everything he could to help her music career, it was an abject failure. Apparently, just being easy to look at it isn’t enough.

That certainly didn’t stop her aspirations or celebrity. Carmen Electra was still nonetheless a celebrity, making appearances on TV and in motion pictures. In 1996, she posed for Hugh Hefners Playboy magazine which of course instantly boosted her Q-rating in both good and bad ways. In 1997 and 1998 she starred in the inexplicably popular TV series Baywatch, with Pamela Anderson. Well I guess it wasn’t all that hard to figure out why they got such good ratings. Also in 1997, she hosted a couple of shows on MTV. In 1998 she actually married the goofy basketball player, Dennis Rodman, and the couple was separated nine days later. Unsurprised it lasted that long. Their marriage was later annulled and they went their separate ways. In the next several years Carmen appeared and a couple of small movie roles.

In 2003, Carmen married former Red Hot chili Peppers member Dave Navarro, who was currently the guitarist for the band Jane’s Addiction. Before they got married, MTV shot a reality show entitled ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave’, which chronicled the couple’s lives as they made preparations for the pending nuptials. In 2004, she had another small role in the movie version of the 1970’s TV show Starsky and Hutch, starring comedic actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.

Though she has never achieved widespread mainstream fame and fortune as a singer, model or actress, Carmen Electra is still one of the most recognizable women in the United States. What a country. The sum total of her performance experiences, and her vivacious personality has gathered her enough attention to remain in the spotlight for some years to come. Carmen Electra is proof that you don’t need talent to make it in America.

Happiness: The Quest

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 5:37 pm

Happiness is something many of us strive for. Why is it so hard to achieve, especially at times when you need it the most? How do we change a gloomy mood into a lighter or happier one?

There are some things within our power that will help us accomplish these goals.

What are some benefits of happiness that could encourage you to work towards it even more?

• Health • Self Confidence • A sense of Purpose • More Productivity • Achieve Your Goals • Weight Loss

Funny thing is that the above list also works in reverse. If you are healthy, self confident and all the rest listed, than you will most likely be happier. Sometimes happiness is staring us right in the face.

Here are some ways that you can create happiness in your life.

Exercise: It appears that exercising comes up a lot when we are speaking about improving various things in our lives. It has been shown to improve mood by making us healthier and increasing endorphins.

Foods & Diet: Eating chocolate is probably more of a pleasure than sustained happiness, even though it can provide us with a short-lived boost.

A healthy diet though is vital for our health and happiness. Too much sugar and junk foods are provisional emotional boosters. In the long run these problem foods will degrade us physically as well as emotionally.

Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, including raw veggies. Cut back on unhealthy foods and don’t Super Size it.

Supplements: If you are not receiving all of your nutrients in your diet then you may want to supplement by taking vitamins.

There are some specific supplements that target your mood. You could discuss these with your health practitioner.

Music: Music can bring miracles to your mood. Go ahead and listen to something upbeat and happy.

Rewards: Happiness comes from rewards as well. They can be simple things. You find a great bargain on something you been wanting. Maybe someone offers you a simple item of interest. You do a task and are complimented on it by someone else or yourself. Even finding a coin on the sidewalk can give you a Reward feeling that can bring happiness to you.

The greatest reward can come from giving a compliment to someone or saying a kind word.

Gratitude: Be grateful for what you have. This simple statement can make a giant difference in your life! Everyday think of everything you have. The enormous things, and the little things. Are you living in a cardboard box? No. Then be very grateful. Yes? Be grateful for the cardboard box.

Have gratitude for friends and family, the home you live in, the food you eat. Isn’t it great having air to breath, freedom to go where you want. Don’t take these for granted but have gratitude and give thanks.

Love: Well Love can clearly bring happiness. Love for your spouse, friends, neighbors and strangers. Give Love and you will receive Love. Learn to Love Yourself. Let’s all remember that when we interact with others.

Enjoyment: Do what you enjoy. This could be a hobby or going for a walk in the park. If you do things that you like it’s bound to bring happiness.

Forgiveness: Try a bit harder to say kind words to others. Place yourself in the other’s person place for a moment. Sure there are some people that act so mean and hateful. Remember you only hurt yourself when you return meanness or hold resentment and anger inside.

Help Others: Find ways to make others happy. You may be surprised that by willingly helping others to find joy can have a positive impact on you as well. Help others to find meaning in life. Keep them company.

Build Self Confidence: Do your work the best you can. Learn new skills. Find meaning in your career and life. Enjoy a new hobby or game. You can boost your self-confidence by learning new and enjoyable things. Raise your self-confidence and you raise your happiness.

Happiness can make you smarter! Is it really surprising that positive attracts positive? If you do these things you will increase your happiness.

What is the most important thing to you? Is it money, a fancy car or a mansion, maybe your health? What about happiness?

Well let’s think a moment….

If you have happiness, all the happiness you want or need, would that be the most important thing to you?

What good is money or the rest without happiness? If you are truly happy you won’t need to worry about the rest. If you require money to be happy then you will have it. Maybe the saying, Money Can’t Buy Happiness , should be Happiness Can Produce Money .

Try to release all anger and negative emotions. You can accomplish this easier once you realize you are only hurting yourself and other loved ones around you. Sure it will take regular practice. You may struggle with this, but it can become second nature after awhile.

It’s up to you. Do you want to be negative and unhappy or positive and learn to be happier? You can start now by adding positive attributes to your life. Be good, smile and put on a happy face!

How To Find Success - Personal And Professional

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 5:40 pm

I am going to tell my story about how I made my first million at a young age, heck, I’m still young. I will also tell how I finally found peace and happiness which was instrumental me becoming financially successful.

All my life I was an under performer, at almost everything I did. I failed a couple of years at school; I was bad at sports and just generally an “E” grade student.

This went on though my college career and I barley scraped through my qualification.

I went on to do a Microsoft Qualification which I really excelled at, this was strangely bizarre a I had just got on the course because I didn’t know what I really wanted to do or where to go with my life. I even managed to get into the top 5% of all students.

I left the course at the end of the year and proceeded to try and find a job. Which I failed dismally at, the course I had taken was a very popular course and the IT market was flooded with people with this type of qualification.

Eventually I got a job working for my girlfriend’s dad, and that only lasted about eight months, I then drifted from job to job. Never working for more than a year at any one place of employment.

I got pretty tired of being just a guy with pretty rubbish, low paying office type jobs so I decided to move to another country, thing that it would be much easier somewhere else. The grass is always greener…

This was really the start of my hardship, I struggled to get any type of job and after being really broke ended up working as a dishwasher in a hotel, I did this for six months and then moved to more of a proper sales job. Guess what that only lasted three months before I was fired.

This continual cycle never seemed to stop and went through another three jobs before I decided that I should maybe think about doing something that I wanted to do.

I decided that I had better start my own business so I couldn’t get fired for one. It also puts the responsibility squarely on your shoulders, so if it all goes wrong it’s no one else’s fault but your own.

Since I know a bit about IT, I thought that it would probably be a good place to start. That’s where it all began, I started offering basic IT services to small business owners, that lead to referrals, and it all snow balled.

I didn’t take much money out the business, and kept my overheads low and reinvested as much as I could.

Within three years I had make over one Million Pounds, and had a business worth five times that.

To top it all off I am still under thirty.

The moral of the story is, be prepared to take the risk of starting your own business. Work hard and be smart. Don’t rob your business as soon as you start making a bit of money.

You will succeed.

The Top Ten Television Characters of All Time

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 5:10 pm

Television is constantly filled with memorable characters. Some of these characters are highly likable, such as Charles Ingalls, and some are characters you love to hate, such as Mr. Burns (excellent). Some leave you questioning the government, like Jack Bauer, and others leave you wondering who shot them, like JR Ewing. Then, there are some character who are completely unparalleled. No matter how many times we change the channel, they won’t ever be forgotten.

The following is our list of the top ten television characters of all time.

Cliff Huxtable, The Cosby Show: Dr. Heathcliff “Cliff” Huxtable was the father we all wanted. Funny, smart, and filled with a youthful playfulness, Bill Cosby fitted this character to a tee. He helped set a new standard for primetime television, catapulted NBC’s Must See TV, and left every child in America wishing they too were one of the Cosby kids.

Al Bundy, Married With Children: On the opposite end of the spectrum sat Al Bundy, the bitter, defeated shoe salesman whose greatest accomplishment in life was his stint as a Polk High Football star. Played to absolute perfection by Ed O’Neill, Al Bundy wasn’t the same kind of father as Cliff Huxtable, but he was highly original, adorably pathetic, and incredibly funny. Whoaaaaaaaaaaa Bundy!

Phoebe Buffay, Friends: The quirkiest of the Friends’ characters, Phoebe Buffay was drowning in obscurities: her real-mom-turned-fake-mom committed suicide, she had a twin sister whom she rarely talked to, she grew up on the streets, she sang a song about a smelly cat, and, of course, she gave birth to her brother’s triplets. In a show where the entire cast was strong, Lisa Kudrow made Phoebe Buffay stick out like a loveable, and eccentric, thumb.

Karen Walker, Will and Grace: Megan Mullally obtained a feat similar to Lisa Kudrow’s: she set the bar on a sitcom where everyone was great. Playing Karen Walker, the drunk, sharp-tongued, condescending, hardly working assistant to Grace, Megan Mullally took this show to a new level. The duo of Jack and Karen was unforgettable as was the love/hate relationship Karen and her maid Rosario perpetually shared.

Dr. Perry Cox, Scrubs: Take a dollop of ego, a dash of narcissism, a sprinkle of heart, sauté it in sarcasm and you have Dr. Cox. Played by John C. McGinley, Dr. Cox serves as the mentor of J.D., the main character on Scrubs. He’s cruel, he’s arrogant, and he has a penchant for calling his employees by demeaning names, but, in all fairness, Dr. Cox is hilarious. He also tends to shed his tough exterior and reveal humanity at the most appropriate, and poignant, moments.

Newman, Seinfeld: While Wayne Knight’s portrayal of Newman didn’t do much for the stereotypes attached to postal workers, it did make us laugh. As Jerry Seinfeld’s nemesis, Newman was the sugar on top of an incredible show. Whether he was cooking up hair brained schemes with Kramer or foiling one of Jerry’s endeavors, a scene with Newman was always great. Hello, Newman.

Archie Bunker, All in the Family: Before Archie Bunker came along, the term “lovable bigot” seemed impossibly oxymoronic. But, Carroll O’Connor proved it could exist. A blue-collar man with outspoken views, Archie Bunker was portrayed as being biased, but he was also portrayed as a man whose views were formed by the era in which he was raised and not by an evil heart. Ultimately, as the series went on, Archie Bunker became a more decent person. Filled with audacity ahead of his time, this character changed television forever.

Dr. Tobias Funke, Arrested Development: Arrested Development was filled with oddball characters that all added flavor to the show, but Tobias Funke was particularly appealing. A psychiatrist turned actor who was both an overzealous braggart and swimming in oblivion, Tobias Funke was a man conflicted by a never nude syndrome and a homosexual laden vernacular. All of this worked together to make his character ridiculously funny; when he mirrored the plot of Mrs. Doubtfire by dressing up as Mrs. Featherbottom, he went from ridiculously funny to tear-in-the-eyes hysterical.

Tony Soprano, The Sopranos: I didn’t put him on this list for fear that exclusion would leave me sleeping with the fishes; I simply did it because Tony Soprano was one of the greats. Played by James Gandolfini, Tony Soprano allowed us to see everyone, even mob bosses, have problems. Forced to juggle his personal life, his family, and his penchant for whacking people, Tony Soprano made crime families human and, oddly enough, even likeable.

Lucy Ricardo, I Love Lucy: It’s hard to think of television without paying homage to Lucille Ball. A woman with an unrivaled talent for physical comedy, Ball gave Lucy Ricardo a permanent place in pop culture. A housewife with big ambitions and an ability to get into trouble, Lucy Ricardo was the meat of I Love Lucy; just watching her once led us all to agree with the show’s title.

5 Marriage-Saving Tips for Spousal-preneurs

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 5:24 pm

Considering going into business with your spouse? Or have you taken the plunge already?

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Lani Voivod. I co-own a brainstorming, marketing strategy, and content development business - Epiphanies, Inc. - with my husband, Allen.

We’ve been married since 2000, parents since 2002, and officially incorporated as a business since 2004.

We’ve evolved from freelance writers to content specialists to content strategists to business owners who market our talents and services to our ideal audience.

We share a home office, divvy up work, tag team assignments, split our time among local business groups and networking events, and are booked to speak at workshops, both together and separately, this year.

Coming at you from the eye of the proverbial hurricane - of life, parenting, and business - we often don’t know which end is up. We’re shooting for a place in the Lifestyle Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, even if we have to invent the prestigious recognition vehicle ourselves.

Those are our qualifications. Now we’d like to share with you five bits of non-platitudinal advice that could keep you in the black AND off the couch.

1. Schedule - and KEEP! - Weekly Business Meetings…During Normal Business Hours. Project Creep is a toxic reality for spouses in business. Allen and I found ourselves jotting down deadlines on car trips, using our precious pillow talk time to discuss client issues, and writing to-do tasks for work right under our grocery lists. It wasn’t pretty, and definitely didn’t work for our business or our marriage.

2. Divide and Conquer. There was a time we treated each other more like 50% of a whole, rather than two fully-functioning business owners. Once we started splitting work according to our strengths, and holding each other accountable for specific duties, things looked more promising, and less impossible. Plus, we got more done in less time, thus upgrading our profitability.

3. Outsource the Finances. Allen has his MBA with a Finance concentration. He’s managed the books for non-profits and small businesses. He also worked in the banking industry for several years. Heck, even I worked as a bookkeeper for a multi-million-dollar company for a year. One would think we could handle our own books.

One would be woefully mistaken.

Stress around finances is a killer for any married couple, so the danger is doubled, if not octupled, for spousal-preneurs. Ever since we hired a third party to keep us on track and honest about budgets, cash flow, performance targets, and small matters like payroll and taxes, we’ve crossed divorce off our list of things to do and have enjoyed focusing on our growth as a team and company.

4. Embrace Standardized Tests. We each recently took a DiSC assessment for a client. It’s designed to evaluate and analyze communication preferences, work skills, behavioral styles, professional motivations, etc. We were shocked by how different our natural and adaptive styles are. In fact, we’re polar opposites in most - if not all - areas and abilities. Comparing the reports side by side helped us identify some of our biggest communication challenges, and see why they exist in the first place. It’s changing our expectations, exposing gaps, and inviting empathy into our business at long last. We plan to take the Myers-Briggs test as soon as possible.

5. Don’t Be All Up in Each Other’s Grills. Space, people. Space. When you’re working, living, breathing, sleeping, parenting, eating, doing laundry, washing dishes, and Tivo-ing favorite TV shows together, all in the same square footage, you have to give each other time to remember you actually like and value your business partner. And your spouse. Solo excursions. Girls and Guys Nights Out. Even mini-vacations and/or business trips without the better half tagging along. Absence doesn’t only make the heart grow fonder - it often reminds you to schedule that long overdue, closed door and candlelit lunch meeting.

The faster you implement the above tips, the faster you’ll get to the perks - like those aforementioned lunch meetings - of being in business with your spouse.

If you are already involved in a workout program, or belong to a gym, good for you and by all means, keep it up. Fact is, you don’t need an over crowded expensive gym to burn fat and get in shape. What you need is to implement physical activity throughout your day while maintaining your diet plan. Start your day by stretching, then use the tips if you find it difficult to find time or get into a regular workout routine. Eat healthy and apply them to burn calories and you’ll be amazed at the results in no time. You have no exscuses now, because time is not a factor.

* Instead of sitting down with your paper and coffee in the morning place your paper on counter or table top and run in place while you read.

* Fast walk or slow jog around the house. ( might not work in office )

* Shadow boxing, just like the famous boxers do, will burn tons of calories.

* If you have stairs, do some laps up and down a few times a day.

* Isometric exercises: ( resistance training without weights or equipment ) Very effective when used properly. Examples: Stand parallel to a wall and press your fist against it as hard as you can, ( builds upper arm latoid muscles ) or a good fat burner is to slow jog while flexing your muscles and shadow boxing.

This is just a short list of filling part of your daily routine with fat burning activity. Be sure to start out slow at first and don’t be afraid to use your own imagination. Combining cardiovascular with resistance type exercises will produce the best results. Of course, a good vigorous workout three or four days a week wouldn’t hurt either. Five Tips For Grocery Shopping With Your Toddler

Filed under: Uncategorized — thierrysblog7165 @ 3:52 am

Doing any kind of grocery shopping with a toddler can be a real challenge. But, with a little preparation and a lot of patience, it can be an enjoyable and entertaining experience. Here are some tips and tricks that work for our family.

1. Bring snacks! This is probably the number one most important thing to remember. A hungry toddler is a cranky toddler, and they get hungry often. I usually bring a plastic zipper bag full of her favorite dry cereal and a sippy cup of water. This will quite often keep her happy for most of the trip through the store.

2. If he gets restless sitting in the cart, let him down to move around for a little while. If you can bring along another adult or an older child to chase him around while you get the shopping done, by all means do so. Sometimes toddlers just need to burn off some energy.

3. Let her help! My girl loves to throw items into the basket. Of course, she will sometimes grab random things off the shelf and throw them in, but I just pull them back out when she’s not looking. This leads in to tip number four:

4. Let him shop! Allow him to pick an item off the shelf and carry it around the store with you. (Just make sure it isn’t breakable!) If it’s something you don’t want to buy, odds are he’ll lose interest in it long before you reach the checkout, whereupon you can either put it back on the shelf or hand it to the cashier apologetically.

5. And finally, be careful what you offer as a means of distraction! One mom I know had a cherry slush hurled at her in the store by a grumpy toddler. The less potential for a mess there is, the better.

Shopping with little ones doesn’t always have to be stressful. Believe it or not, it can even be fun!
