Dogs And Kids

Dogs and kids can live together harmoniously, if the situation is properly understood and carefully handled.Friendships between dogs and kids are both wonderful and character building for the children.

Most dog bites inflicted on kids are by the family pet, or a neighbours dog. It is not that the dog is aggressive, it is just that Mums and Dads do not understand that children, and particularly babies, act very differently to adults, and it is this unusual behaviour that upsets the dogs.

My own children were brought up with German Shepherds, supposedly well know as aggressive dogs. The dogs were fairly anti-social to strangers but to the family they were totally trust worthy. I like to think that it was because I taught the kids to behave properly around and towards the dogs.

When dogs and kids are living together it is the kids that need to be taught to treat all dogs with the greatest respect, and to understand that dogs are not toys. As soon as babies are crawling they need to be told to be kind to the family dog. Puppies are never too young to learn, neither are babies. If you have just acquired a new puppy do not let it chew you or play nip, good training for when it is a fully grown dog.

Dogs protect all things that they care about, whether that be the house, their diner, the car, their bed, kids have to understand to leave dogs alone at certain times or certain places. Some dogs are, by nature, herding dogs, so these may chase a child if it runs away. This could excite the dog to attack.

Some dogs would get defensive if they are cornered or have some one standing over them. Kids should be taught to not scream, cuddle the dog tightly or pinch them. It should be remembered that as a dog gets older it could become less tolerant, so the family dog that has always been so good with the kids suddenly nips a child. Old dog get deaf so cannot hear a child approaching, so may nip out of surprise. It is not the dog’s fault!

Kids need to be told to never approach a strange dog, without asking permission. If the dog is out without it’s owner leave it alone.

To always approach in a steady quiet manor.

No teasing, yelling, hugging, pinching, pulling or chasing.

Always leave mothers with young alone.

Never try to stop a dogfight!

If you are approached by a strange dog, stand still; let the dog sniff you, no wriggling fingers, put them in your pocket if you have one.

Do not stare at the dog, and never run away.

If the dog is barking or growling, slowly walk away, keeping the dog in view.

Be sure your kids understand the difference between your own dog and a strange dog.

It is wise to never leave a baby or very young children alone together, no matter how well you think you know the dog.

This all sounds a little forbidding but dogs and kids really can have lots of fun together.

Home Office to Restrict Bulgarian and Romanian Workers

IMMIGRATION MATTERS

The UK government will impose restrictions on Bulgarian and Romanian nationals wishing to work in Britain after they become EU members in January 2007.

The proposals will be reviewed within 12 months, taking into account of the needs of the country’s labour market, Home Office minister Liam Byrne said.

Food processing and agriculture are the only sectors initially open to ‘less skilled’ nationals. The minister said progress had to be made on the government’s immigration reforms before the controls are lifted at all. He added that the transitional impacts of the last round of accession, when Poland and seven other eastern European states joined the EU, still needed to be understood.

‘Through this measured response to accession we will ensure that migration is, and continues to be, managed in the best interests of the country as a whole,’ he said.

The Home Office added: ‘These new arrangements will be reviewed within 12 months and the Government’s proposed new Migration Advisory committe will assist in this process taking account of the needs of our labour market, the impact of the A8 accession and the positions adopted by other EU countries.’

The news came shortly after the Home Office announced the closure of the Food Manufactiring (General) quota of the doomed Sector Based Scheme. The combination of these two announcements effectively marks the beginning of the end for low skilled migration from outside the EU. Low skilled, agricultural and food manufacturing jobs are expected to be filled by workers for Eastern Europe.

The last minute announcement is reminiscent of the “knee jerk” reaction to public disquiet in 2004 when the UK opened its doors to the new European nations. At that time the Home Office hurriedly introduced the ‘Workers Registration Scheme’ weeks before the A8 joining date on 1st May 2004. Charles Clarke, the then Home Secretary, estimated that around 13000 Eastern Europeans would make their way to the UK. Since then over 600,000 have come to the UK and thousands more arrive each week.

These latest proposals are hardly watertight and on first sight would appear to have more holes that a block of Swiss cheese. First of all Bulgarian and Romanian citizens will have the right to come here. Secondly, there is no restriction on self employment. Lastly, the restrictions could be seen as discriminatory and open to legal challenge.

Finding the Best Private Student Loan

Students who do not meet federal requirements for financial need can use the route of a private student loan. Apply for a private loan is free. The loan is based on the student’s creditworthiness and not the need for aid as does the federal loans.

Many lenders offer private student loans to students or their parents and the application process is simple and free. The loan requirements are usually less stringent and the repayment options are affordable for young professionals. A private student loan is a great way to finance the education of any student that needs financial help. Below you will find things that you should know and things you should consider.

Things You Should Know:

1. Student loans can be used not only to pay the fees but also for lab fees, dues for associations and housing.

2. A student can have an educational loan even though the tuition is covered by a grant.

3. A student who is eighteen years or above in age, can apply for a student loan.

4. Most of the student loan is deferred for repayment until the student completes the education or leaves the school.

Things You Need To Consider:

1. Private loans for students are not given without a co-signer or a credit report.

2. Credit unions give student loans if a vehicle or a boat is provided as collateral.

3. During the cumulative credit period, a student has the option of paying or not paying the interest part of the loan. It should be noted that paying the interest on the loan while attending school will significantly reduced the amount due when the student starts paying the loan after leaving the institution.

4. Student loans are to be repaid in ten years. Nevertheless, longer repayment facilities are provided to large student educational loans.

It is not difficult to finding lenders, because most financial institutions offer some form of student loan.

Always take the time to investigate lenders in your immediate area and find out exactly what kind of loans they offer. Compare the different interest rate and terms to get the best offer available.

Choosing the right Tailgating Grill

If you are planning a tailgate party you need a few things, good people, good drinks, and a good grill. There are a few things that you need to consider before choosing a grill for your next tailgate party.

Camp Stoves:

Camp Stoves are a great addition to Tailgaters due to its ability to do many different things. First off Camp Stoves are not grills. It is just a way to have an open flame that is regulated and controlled. Camp Stoves are not meant to grill burgers and hotdogs by themselves. There are some accessories that must be bought before this can happen. If you are looking for a grill to make hamburgers, hotdogs, or anything else that can be grilled directly on the grill check out our Table Top Grills, or Portable Grills.

Camp Stoves are meant to be used at if it were an outdoor kitchen stove. You can use pots and pans, skittles, dutch ovens, or anything else that you usually use on a regular stove. Of course you can purchase grill attachments for direct grilling. Camp Stoves can make a simple hamburger and hotdog tailgate into a gourmet tailgate with stews, chili, boiled shrimp, or lobster (yes lobster check out Gillette stadium tailgaters), and anything else you can cook up, imagine, and feast upon.

Table Top Grills:

Tabletop grills are great for a quick set up with a picnic table, setting on the ground, or tailgate. These are small and portable which makes them very diverse and useable. Some are designed more for grilling, some more for using with pots and pans. Either way these are great for setting up quickly, getting the food cooked, cooling off quickly and stowing, so that you can get into your event quickly. They are also for those who are looking for the least amount of cleanup, and work to be done.

Portable Grills:

Portable grills are for the serious tailgater. Portable grills offer a wide range of uses, from skillet cooking to grilling burgers, and hot dogs, to dutch oven use; to anything that can be fried, cooked, grilled, and ate. Portable grills are easy to set up, and easy to take down. Pull the grill out of the trunk or back of the truck, set up quickly, get your food, and get going. Have fun, eat well, and be happy.

Backpack Grills:

Backpack grills are our most highly portable grills we have found. Most are simply single burner stoves meant to head up a pot, pan or skillet. These are great little grills for a quick small tailgate party, or to just pull over on the side of the road on a long trip and have an impromptu tailgate lunch party. You never know when a tailgating mood will hit, and these ultra portable grills will let you tailgate in any spot.

So what we have found is that you have to first decide what kind of party you are going to have. Then you will be able to quickly and easily decide what kind of grill is best for you.

Have fun, Cook Well, and Tailgate the right way

A Review of Cable High Speed Internet Service

The computer certainly has seen its fair share of changes. Well, I guess I should actually say the PC and Mac. Regardless of what you prefer in computer finery, you are no doubt finding value now. Since the mid-nineties, many of us have gotten used to the idea of having a computer in our homes. We may have started with those dinosaur-looking desktop computers that came with space consuming towers and television size monitors, but they surely don’t look like that anymore. The same case can be made for modern day Internet service. It’s even hard to remember those dinosaur dial-ups. There is a new king and it is cable high speed Internet.

Which Internet service provider are you using? Are you a fan of DSL or cable high speed Internet? These choices are a recent phenomonom. There is a fierce battle for customers. For the consumer it is quite simple: who has the best deal? Cable high speed Internet is certainly the choice of most because it is the fastes and most reliable to date, but it can also be expensive. Being a subscriber of cable high speed Internet myself, I can tell you that I have pretty much tried them all. I began with Time-Warner, but hoped for something faster.

Then came Comcast after I relocated to a different state. I was satisfied with their service overall. More recently I relocated again. This is when I decided to give the local cable high speed Internet service a shot. To put it mildly, I was disappointed. I think it was the high prices that soured me. Paying more is no fun. Shortly after acquiring this new service, I decided to switch back to Time-Warner, which was cheaper and offered the same service.

For anyone still using dial-up, well, I feel your pain. Dial-up has certainly outlasted its usefulness. Why even bother with that horrific sound and turtle-like speed when you could be enjoying cable high speed Internet at a decent price? But then again, it is better than nothing. If you have the means then I suggest you try switching to cable high speed Internet. It isn’t really all that expensive. I really can’t put my stamp of approval on DSL Internet service either. Once again, it’s rather slow. Do yourself a favor and check out cable high speed Internet. You’ll be glad you did.

Causes of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids involve the response of the blood vessels in the area of the rectum to pressure. This pressure can come from various sources and typically will cause pain and irritation. There are various reasons for hemorrhoids, and knowing them can help in making lifestyle changes and minimize the pain they cause.

Constipation is the main cause of hemorrhoids. This causes bowel movements to put strain on the rectal area, thereby putting pressure on the blood vessels and causing swelling and irritation. Strained bowel movements can cause bleeding from the blood vessels in the rectal area as well. Preventing constipation is an important step in preventing and minimizing the effects of hemorrhoids.

Pregnancy is the next leading cause of hemorrhoids. Pregnancy can also cause an increase in the pressure of the blood vessels in the rectal area. Hormonal changes are known to make blood vessels work harder which can cause swelling and irritation. Hemorrhoids due to pregnancy are usually temporary, but can be an important consideration in becoming pregnant.

Chronic Venous Insufficiency is the third leading cause of hemorrhoids. This condition occurs when the blood vessels in the area of the rectum are weakened, causing pressure, swelling and irritation. The pressure can be magnified with sitting or standing for long periods. Exercise and smoking in concert with CVI can cause irritation of the rectal blood vessels for those that are overweight.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome, known as IBS, can cause hemorrhoids, especially in cases when IBS is dominated by constipation. Diarrhea is also known to put extra pressure on the rectal blood vessels. Portal Hypertension, which is an increase in the pressure of the blood vessels running from the intestines to the liver, can cause hemorrhoids due to the increased blood flow and pressure.

Any type of hemorrhoid can cause irritation, pain, and bleeding in the areas of the anus and rectum. It is important to identify the cause of your hemorrhoids for future preventative measures. You may want to look at dietary and lifestyle changes to help reduce symptoms.

Tips On How To Write A Simple Article

How to write a simple article? Most likely there are as many different opinions about this as there are authors, but it is enough to say that with the everlasting popularity of publications on the internet, it is safe to begin with learning how to write an online article.

How to write a simple article

As there are hundreds of strict rules and strategies for writing an article full of keywords, I’d like to save you some time and effort and a possible headache too, and to teach you how to write a simple piece for online publication, an article which is included in an online database. For instance, this might be a database that accepts as well as offers its readers free articles. Furthermore, I’d like to concentrate mainly on the style or type of publication which is easiest to reach and most interesting and enjoyable to read.

It is important to know that the great majority of websites have a general topic or concern. Suppose you are going to write an article for a firm which is specialized in designing kitchen cabinets. The above-mentioned firm required ten publications to start. (Keep in mind that this is only a hypothetical situation; most sites have a database of more than 300 articles). I suppose many of us have previous experience in writing assignments in their college classes, for example a paper which is supposed to be 10 pages long on anything related to California history. It is almost the same as far as writing online articles in concerned; the web master will require ten articles about kitchen cabinets. And then you have to leave your imagination and invention work.

Go to your kitchen and carefully examine the cupboards. How many synonyms of cabinet can you think of? How these cupboards are made, what are they made of and how many parts do they have? Do you know all the kinds of materials that are used in building a cupboard? When was the oldest cabinet you’ve seen built? ( few days ago I came across one which was used in a pharmacy and was made of steel and glass, it was from the early 1920’s ). Thus, if you are a beginner at writing articles about cabinets, you could think about the types, styles, designs and materials. Here are some pieces of advice you can follow and write a couple of paragraphs choosing your own approach from one of the mentioned below.

* Define all the terms and specialized words used in cabinetry. The best way to help a potential buyer, a user or even apprentice carpenter is to include a glossary in your article.

* Make an easily readable bulleted list covering all the facts and details related to the topic

* Do a Survey - write an article about the history of the topic you’ve chosen, whether it would be a person, a place, an event or a concept

* Be sensitive about the format - using different style and font variations will help the reader distinguish the different parts of the article

Further, knowing how to write a piece of publication includes setting the right purposes: show the readers how to select, build, buy, clean, install, etc. the item you write about.

Some of the popular formats that you might want to use are listed below:

The Q and A - put some questions and then finds the best answers

The Narrative - people love stories, especially well-written ones

Try Quotes and Trivia - if you find it appropriate you can put some quotes in your article because quotes are as exciting as tales and discussions of trials and tribulations and success-with the item you are describing.

This should be a good base on which you build your article. It is a good idea to start with a website of your own, that way you would see how good is your work. Else, you could write publications for a friend of yours. What really matters in writing simple articles is to be experienced, so just get down to practicing. While working, try to enjoy it.

What Is CLASSID

Before you go ahead and download a registry cleaner understand why it is necessary. As a web page loads on your system, you may be prompted to install several ActiveX components before the page can be fully downloaded. This is so that the browser can interpret the ActiveX components and display them properly on the system. This only would only occur if the controls used in the web page were not already on the system. If you decline permission for the installation, the page will not function properly. However, once these ActiveX controls are on your system, you won’t have to download them again, even when you come across them on other web sites. These download clutter up the registry over time and need to be removed with the help of some registry shareware cleaner.

Other ID Tags

So how can the web page determine that the required ActiveX controls are not installed on the system or not? The browser does this by referring to the ‘CLASSID’ in the ‘OBJECT’ tag of the web page. To cut a long explanation short, an ActiveX control is added to a web page using the and container tags. The ‘CLASSID’ is unique to each ActiveX component; it is with the ‘CLASSID’ that you specify which control you are using. The Registry has a special section for CLASSID and they run into thousands of ID’s. The useless records in the Registry have to be removes with the aid of a registry cleaner. Free PC registry cleaners are available for download and help keep the system running smoothly. If you were to look at a CLASSID it would look something like this: Class ID: 99B42120-6EC7-11CF-A6C7-00AA00A47DD2.

So How Does CLASSID work

‘CLASSID’ is a unique registry-identifying component that is used to identify an ActiveX control. The actual download process consists of six different steps. First, Internet Explorer will process the ‘OBJECT’ tag in the browser code and get your requirements from it. Then Internet Explorer will determine if checking different things needs a download. Then Internet Explorer will process the ‘CAB’ file and the ‘INF’ file. Then the control and its dependencies will be installed. Finally, the control will show up on the screen.

The Registry is the centre of all records for the system. The registry records all the activities such as the users and the hardware details of the system. It also records where what program or file is located on the disk. This is why the registry gets filled up with redundant entries over time and as it gets older it keeps building up and slowing down the system. Registry Repair and Cleaners are ideal for such times when your computer has grown sluggish and irritatingly slow. PC registry cleaners can greatly enhance the speed and performance of your system.

It is all code language and you need not understand the technicalities of it. Suffice it to know that if the browser determines, through the ‘CLASSID’ on your browser that your system already has that ‘CLASSID’ in the registry the browser will load and display the page, else it will prompt you to download that particular control.

German Shepherd Health is a Very Critical Issue

German Shepherd health is one area over which you have a lot of control. Long prized for its elegance, intelligence, loyalty, versatility and working abilities, the GSD can be a very stoic animal that will play and work hard through a lot of pain and not easily show any underlying health problems. It often takes a sharp and observant owner to know whether or not his or her dog is suffering from any type of pain or illness.

There is no reason any German Shepherd should suffer from any pain, disease or illness. It is the owners responsibility to keep the dog in great condition and healthy by: feeding him a good and healthy diet, brushing his teeth often as possible, grooming him regularly and giving your dog plenty of exercise and attention to keep him healthy.

Another way of keeping tabs on your German Shepherd Dog’s health is by performing a weekly home German Shepherd health exam. This will help you spot many of the common German Shepherd health problems before they become serious. This will also make you very aware of your GSD’s body and easily help you detect any changes that may happen over time due to injury, disease or any kind of dog related emergencies.

The best way of taking care of your German Shepherds health is by taking your dog to the veterinarian regularly. Make sure your GSD receives regular physical and health examinations and is current on all its vaccinations. Finding a veterinarian that is familiar with GSD Health Problems and with dealing with all the hereditary diseases that affect our breed is an excellent idea. Not all veterinarians are as familiar with German Shepherd health issues as they might be with other dog breeds.

Routine vet exams will include a check of your German Shepherds eyes, heart, lungs, ears, mouth, teeth and coat as well as any lumps, bumps, cuts or bruises that the dog may have. Associate veterinary visits with a positive experience and it will make future doctor visits much easier for your German Shepherd puppy.

It is also a good idea to take your new German Shepherd puppy or dog to the veterinarian for occasional social visits just for them to see that going there does not have to always a bad thing. Both your German Shepherds health and socialization are very, very important. Check with your vet and his staff to schedule a time to visit that is not too busy. The GSD pup can have both a positive and healthy experience by going there - meeting the staff, meeting other dogs and owners to socialize with, etc. Keep in mind not to introduce your dog to truly sick animals, however, since you do not want to make your healthy German Shepherd puppy ill.

The Beginnings of The Idea of an American Geisha

Arthur Golden’s 1997 book, Memoirs of a Geisha, and the 2005 movie it inspired, teased non-Asian women, making them curious about the beauty secrets and powerfully attractive qualities of geisha, of Japanese women, and perhaps of Asian women in general.

Many Japanese-inspired fashion and beauty products were introduced immediately before the movie reached the theaters. Coach offered a Japanese silk-and-mink kimono hobo bag. Cole Haan featured stiletto boots covered in antique Japanese silk. Banana Republic launched a limited-edition holiday collection inspired by the movie’s wardrobe, including a silk floral kimono sash-tie top, a quilted geisha bag, an Asian-style tassel necklace, and a satin kimono dress. Facial and body creams featured cherry-blossom-themed packaging and the same image of the movie’s star, Zhang Ziyi, that graced billboards, newspaper ads, and even the cover of a special edition of the book.

In late 2005 American women heard a lot about the Japanese geisha. Yet what relevance could the geisha have for American women beyond a book to read, a movie to watch, and some expensive boots to wear? My investigation into the history of the geisha in both Japan and Korea, combined with my research with over four hundred Asian and American single women and men, convinced me that the Asian Geisha (my term for the blending of the Japanese geisha and the Korean kisaeng) offers many lessons for American women who want to be married, soon, to their Good Men. The golden age of the Japanese geisha and her attitude toward men dates from 1841, when she was accorded by law the status of “entertainer” or “artist.”

In Sex Secrets of an American Geisha I have adapted Asian Geisha practices somewhat to fit twenty-first-century Western/American culture while continuing to emphasize the geisha’s performance or entertainment skills. In particular, I have upheld the concept of the Asian Geisha, as embodying the archetypes of beauty and femininity.
