Teaching Handwriting to Children

Teachers say it time and time again. They tell their students to “write clearly,” so that they can read what their child was trying to convey. Often teachers take this rule so far as to mark questions wrong on a test or homework assignment that are not legible, or to not give the student credit for his or her work. It is for this reason, and many others, that it is important to teach children handwriting from an early age.

Teaching children handwriting is very important. Throughout life, people use writing in almost every aspect of their lives, from writing reminder notes, to homework, writing in a journal, thank you notes, and, perhaps most importantly, in employment.

While one would think that schools, primarily in the early grades, would teach children proper handwriting, this is often not the case. Often teachers are not trained in this field, do not give it sufficient time, or are unable to train children properly because of large class sizes. Writing is the final process of thinking. When given an assignment, children will think about it, and then write it down as a final way to communicate their answer. If a parent or teacher cannot interpret what the child wrote, it can be frustrating for all parties involved. Therefore, it is important for parents, as well as teachers, to understand how to teach handwriting to children.

One of the key factors for learning handwriting is that children have a quiet place to write. In front of the television or in a noisy room with a lot of action is going to distract the child, and prevent him or her from having a productive writing session. Secondly, children need to practice what they have learned. The phrase “practice makes perfect” definitely rings true in this situation. Without constant practice, the child’s handwriting will improve just slightly, if at all. To help a child practice what they have learned in previous sessions or classes, worksheets are strongly encouraged. These worksheets can include anything from words for the child to copy down on the lines provided for them, to worksheets in which the child has to list the items shown in pictures, and copy them several times. Whatever the content is that they contain, practice worksheets are an enormously large tool in helping a child improve his or her handwriting.

There are several other games and activities that children and adults can engage in together in order to help the child learn. Making lists together, such as grocery lists or “to do” lists will help the child write out words that he or she may have practiced, as well as some new words and phrases. Learning the words to a favorite song, then copying them down onto a piece of paper is also an activity that children will enjoy, for they will feel as if they are not doing “real work.” Games and activities are important to use when teaching a child something. Practicing handwriting can get tedious. To prevent the child from getting frustrated, small games and activities help to prevent anger and frustration.

People write things down everyday, in various environments and in various forms. It is a large part of our lives, and therefore is very important that handwriting be learned from an early age. The tools and pointers mentioned above should help your child onto the path to perfect handwriting!

We’re Flying!

This is the fourth summer that the same flock of grosbeaks has visited my yard. They don’t move into the decorative bird houses because they live 200ft up in the pine trees and I don’t have a ladder that tall. They do however, come several times daily (read constantly) to feed at the wooden birdfeeders and to drink and swim in the garden birdbath fountain. This little flock was about 22 strong when they came back this spring, I am guessing we have more than 40 now. There about 12 individual fledglings that I can recognize at the birdfeeders.

Most of them are “evening” grosbeaks colored with bright white, black and yellow chevrons but a couple are some strange mix. I get a great chance to observe them as they come in for meals at the windmill bird feeder, they love the wide platform since they are fairly large and sturdy birds. The babies are almost full grown and eating up a storm getting ready for their migration to Mexico (I think). The funny colored mama has hatched 3 kids and I can tell they are hers by their odd feather patterns.

I have to take the time to bring in all the bird feeders every night. Whether it is decorative bird feeders or the wooden bird feeders they are at risk from the bears and raccoons. I have probably replaced over $100 of birdfeeders this year alone (due to my own forgetfulness). I finally have pictures of those rascally raccoons on the deck trying to get into the seed can.

If I don’t get up early enough I hear all about it from the whole flock. They send out spotters to prod me into action and then report back when I rehang the birdfeeders. They will sit by my front door on a decorative bird house with no tenants and chirp at me until I get breakfast out. They also let me know if the birdfeeders are empty at any time during the day. I work at home and leave the front door open, they definitely know where to find me if they want something. They are so amusing I will miss them in the winter and always look forward to their return. They show up a few weeks after the robins get back.

If you are planning to purchase a car, then what are you waiting for? Just transform your plan to into an action by availing fast car loans.

Basically, fast car loans are popular and known for their faster approval. Fast car loans enable you to become owner of car as early as possible. Fast car loans are designed in such manner that it suits the needs and requirements of each and every person. In other words, tenant, homeowner, bad credit scorer and good credit scorer can avail fast car loans. But the difference will be in their interest rate that is homeowner and good credit scorer will be offered with competitive and low rate of interest as compared to other two.

Best and cheap mode to avail fast car loans is through online. Online lenders offer competitive rates as compared to the lender in the physical market. It is also seen that online market offers various discounts and concessions on availing fast car loans. But, for this there is need to do lots of research work and such research is only possible through internet. While accessing, many lenders will come with their offers but you should not accept the first offer, as this may not be a best and competitive offer. In order to know that the rates been offered are competitive or not, there is need to ask for loan quote from the lender, which is provided free of cost. With the help of this loan quote you can easily compare all the offers and choose the one with low cost and also which matches with your financial needs and requirements.

If you want to enjoy the benefits of low rate of interest then you must make high down payments and should make an attempt to improve your credit score by making timely payments. But now due to the widening of the financial market, a bad credit scorer can also avail benefit of the good credit score that is, through co-signer. Co-signer can be called as guarantee to the lender against the amount being provided for loan. And if in case the borrower fails to repay any installment in such case the co-signer will be held liable for all the arrears.

Borrower is always recommended to go through the loan agreement thoroughly so that he can identify that there are no hidden costs, hidden cost can be defined as undesirable payments which subsequently increases the costs of the loan.

Find Work as an MCSE

One of the surest ways to guarantee yourself good employment potential in this day and age is to become a part of the computing industry. As a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, you’ll find that all sorts of doors open up to you. MCSE jobs are always available, but which areas should you be looking at.

If you can qualify as an MCSE, jobs will become available in several different fields. You can target one of these fields for employment by carefully choosing the elective elements of your MCSE. Jobs in network security, for instance, will be more open to those with a security specialisation, taking a different route from those who have specialised in network infrastructure, who may be looking for set-up or maintenance type MCSE jobs. For this reason, it’s important to think carefully about the areas of work you’re interested in - and about where jobs are available - before you proceed to the final stages of your MCSE.

Jobs in the computing industry change all the time as new products come on the market, so new MCSE jobs are always opening up, though you’ll need to keep your skills sharp to compete for them. It’s usually easy to find employment if you specialise in specific product management as part of your MCSE. Jobs of this sort can disappear, however, when products become obsolete, at which point you may need to invest in adding further components to your MCSE. Jobs with a more general format, such as server maintenance, are more likely to remain table.

As you develop your talents within the framework of your MCSE, jobs in the outside world will be continually changing. MCSE jobs are comparatively easy to find, but you may need to be prepared to move around to make the best of your MCSE. Jobs like these are vitally important to the industry, and you’ll need to know that you can give them your best.

Web Hosting - Let Me Explain

If you want a website, then before you do anything else, you’re going to need to get some web hosting.

You might not be too sure exactly how the web works, but don’t worry - it’s quite complicated, and you don’t really need to know about it until you want to make your own website. Basically, every time you go to a website, you connect to another computer (called a server) that sends you copies of that website’s pages. Server have to be powerful, as thousands of people could be asking for those pages every second on the web’s biggest sites.

For a small site, you don’t need your own server. You could set your own computer up to run as a server, but you would have to leave it switched on and connected to the Internet all day long, and if your site got even a little bit popular then your connection probably wouldn’t be able to handle it. Instead, what most people do is rent some space on one of those larger servers, paying a different monthly fee depending on how much data their visitors download and for any extra features they need.

If you want a website, then, the first thing you should do is find which one of these web hosts is best for you - that is, whose server you should rent space on. Much like looking to rent a home, this is really a matter of personal taste. Paying more is no guarantee of quality, as many hosts prey on their customers’ lack of understanding to charge unjustifiably high prices. In general, the best way to find a good web hosting company is to ask around, read reviews, and ask on forums for people’s experiences. You’ll often find that what seemed like a good deal is actually a disaster, and be steered towards something much better.

6 Techniques To Beat Credit Card Debt

Did you know that credit card companies don’t want you to pay off your credit card debt? Why would they? The more credit card debt you have, the more interest you pay to them. And interest is their lifeblood.

Credit card companies have helped to foster our acceptance of debt as part of our lifestyle. We keep spending more than we make by about 10% each month and keep adding to our debt. As those credit card balances keep growing month after month, so too do those minimum monthly payments. There will come a time when we will not be able to afford even those minimum payments. Many people have already reached and surpassed that point.

We have fallen into the credit card trap where we get sucked into the convenience of it all, easily put off payments, and overspend. Have you compared your monthly income to your monthly credit card limit? Pretty remarkable how much larger your card limit is. We use credit cards for just about everything and we have maxed out. The convenience has lulled us into the credit card trap.

So how do you break the cycle? It’s all about changing your attitude towards credit card debt. Here are 6 techniques you can use to turn the table in your favor and allow you to break free of credit card debt.

1. Treat your credit card spending as a loan. Most people don’t see their credit card debt as a loan. It really is just that. You borrow money and it has to be repaid. It’s all about an attitude change.

2. Always watch your balance. Instead of looking at your credit card limit, look at your monthly earnings. Always make sure your credit card balance doesn’t grow beyond what you can afford for the month.

3. Keep all your purchase receipts. Costly errors can be fixed quickly if you have the receipts. Also, they help you visualize how much you are spending. Put the receipts some place where you’ll see them everyday. As the pile grows, you can see your debt grow.

4. Pay off your whole balance on time each month. This is the best way to break free of credit card debt. You don’t pay interest and there are no late penalties. Over time, the savings can be huge.

If you’re struggling to pay off your credit cards, there are many different options that can help - for example, you can consolidate credit card debt or get credit counseling. They can make it easier to get a grip on your monthly payments.

5. Treat your credit cards as emergency cards. Don’t take them shopping. Use cash or debit cards. If you use cash or a debit card, you can drain your bank account until it’s empty but at least you can’t spend any more. Amazing how in our society, we aren’t comfortable about having our bank account balance go to zero but we’ll let our credit card debt grow which, in effect, is taking our bank account “below” zero.

6. Keep your lowest interest rate credit card and cut up the rest. If you don’t have them, they can’t help you add to your debt.

The credit card companies have you right where they want you - carrying high balances and paying lots of interest. However, by changing your attitude towards credit card debt and using these 6 techniques you can break free.

Winter House Preparedness

I know, it is still summer time, but winter will be here before you know it, and before wearing your jackets again you should first be prepared for the seasonal change of your house. In fact, during winter times, we all see our homes as a nest where we can find warmth and relax without shivering to the bone. But is your home a friendly and cozy place for you and those you love? Or is your décor so gloomy that people go outside just to warm up? If you wish to make your home a warm and inviting shelter this winter, read the following advice.

- Decorate your house with slipcovers, pillow cases and accessories in rich warm colors, like red, orange, brown, green and gold. You can also garnish your coffee table or fire place with fall foliage or pine boughs to create that earth-like feeling. Additionally, place treasured pictures of family in warm wood frames all around your house.

- In case you are able to handle a larger project, consider painting your walls in rich shades of red, orange or yellow. That is a wonderful way to brighten your winter days!

- Select to embellish your furniture with soft and plush fabrics that will make you never want to leave the couch or beddings. Cushions and upholstery could be velvet, mohair and chenille. You can also use throws over chairs and sofas as the layering of fabrics adds richness and texture to the room making it more inviting.

- Buy lots of candles. Place them along your dinning table, fireplace, or mid-coffee table and decorate them with beans and small mirrors for an extra lighting effect. Select scents like vanilla or cinnamon as they evoke feelings of comfort.

- If you have a fireplace, move your sofa and chairs closer to it so as to add to the warmth of the room and in order to add to your house dimension and elegance, consider layering smaller rugs on top of your carpet or main rug, in front of the sofa or armchairs of your living room.

- Add extra lamps instead of overhead lighting for a more intimate ambiance and use drapes to create the feeling of comfort and intimacy.

- Replace frequently your main living room flower arrangements and add more warm-tone accessories like gold, brass and copper.

- Arrange furniture in groups. A cozy reading corner with a comfortable, over-stuffed chair, table and lamp or a small table and a couple of chairs or footstools will be enough for your family members to sit together and relax.

Model Posing Tips from a Professional Photographer

Whether you are searching for a career in fashion modeling or glamour modeling, it is very important for you to realize that there is more to becoming a model than just standing there looking beautiful.

One very important factor in becoming a good model is posing, and in order for you to learn the different poses needed for the type of modeling career you are seeking it will take practice, practice, practice.

Make Your Posing Look Natural

When preparing for your photo shoot, there are numerous steps you can take to ensure you are comfortable while posing and your photos will look more natural.

Get Posing Ideas

Before you head to your photo shoot, pick at least ten poses you really like from fashion or glamour magazines, or poses you’ve learned from previous photo shoots. Take time to practice each pose in front of a mirror until you feel comfortable and have the confidence of knowing you look great doing these poses.

Hands and Facial Expression

Also, focus on what to do with your hands and pay attention to facial expressions. A pose is virtually dead and unimaginative without a “look”. You should be able to close your eyes, imagine a thought, open your eyes and sell that thought. Practice this technique and your photos will come alive.

Become an Idea Factory

Unless you are shooting for an advertising agency or some other type of special interest session many photographers recommend that you bring some of your own posing ideas to the shoot. In addition to your ideas, the photographer may have his or her own idea of how the session should go.

Rapport with Your Photographer

Always work with a photographer you feel you can trust. This will make communication between the two of you easier and give you the confidence to express your own ideas.

Always listen to what the photographer tells you. If you are really uncomfortable with the pose, let your photographer know how you feel, in a nice way. Remember, he is looking through the camera lens and might see something you don’t.

If the photographer says she wants something different in the pose, try looking away from the camera or giving a unique facial expression. This is where your practice in front of the mirror really pays.

Posture

When posing you should always keep good posture unless the photographer instructs you to do otherwise. Hold your stomach in to give your abdomen a more toned appearance. If you have gained a few pounds stick out your chin a little to avoid the appearance of a double chin in your photos.

Keep your fingers slightly apart and pointed away from the lens. Let your hands fall naturally into position whenever possible. Remember, you want to be yourself - on purpose.

Now that you have learned what to do, consider these things you should try to avoid while posing.

Things to Avoid when Posing for a Photographer

Misplaced Body Language

Body language and expressions come naturally but the language you are projecting might not be what your photographer wants in a particular pose. You need to conciously focus on ways to prevent these habits while posing.

Don’t hold your breath during a pose. Stay relaxed and your photos will look as if you just happened to be sitting this way when the photographer walked up.

In most pose situations you want your arms, legs, wrists, etc. slightly bent unless you are directed to do otherwise Most people don’t stand or sit with their arms and legs completely stiff. A good point to remember is, if it will bend, bend it.

Mona Lisa Smile?

Another posing tip to remember is that you don’t always have to smile. You should have a good variety of smiling and serious looks. But, sometimes you will want to give a large, open-mouthed laugh. If you are susposed to be happy, look the part!

Your Eyes are the Windows to Your Soul

Don’t always look straight into the camera. When you cut your eyes to the left or right, you create an air of mystery. When you look up and away, you are annoyed. Tilt your chin slightly down and look straight ahead for a sexy look.

About Blinking

Beware of the Blink! If you have to blink, try to blink between exposures. This is not always easy, especially if you are working in a photography studio. Some models get into a habit of anticipating the strobes and start to close their eyes when the picture is about to be snapped.

Get into the habit of not paying attention to the flash and concentrate wholy on the pose, your body language, hand position, etc. and your images will come out as you expect.

Be Bold!!

Never be afraid to try out some of your own poses in front of your photographer. Most photographers are glad to hear suggestions from you.

How do You See Yourself?

When you look at your final images don’t be critical of yourself. Find positive ways to improve your posing. Discover your strengths and weaknesses and shoot for the stars.

I am certain that Tyra Banks still works on her appearance and her posing artistry even though she has achieved a degree of stardom. Shouldn’t you?

8 Reasons To Fall In Love With Marrakech Travel

Just beneath the high mountain range of the African Atlas is the red city of Morocco known as Marrakech. With a culture that has grown to be so vibrant, free, and pure, who would have known that this imperial city only started as another pit stop for medieval caravans? However, regardless of its humble beginnings, you’ll still be bound by its magic spell with the warmth of its people, inspiring history, and colorful tradition. Standing in the middle of the red city walls, you’ll know for sure that you’re in for a timeless escape with Marrakech travel. But to make the most out of your journey to this spellbinding exotic destination, here are the top eight things you shouldn’t dare miss on your Marrakech travel:

1. Relive the memories of the old city.

The 13th century walls that surround the medina is reminiscent of ancient struggles and battles that took place in Morocco. A tour around the age-old fortresses, gates, and tanneries in your Marrakech travel is a good photo opportunity for tourists. Not only that, you’ll also enjoy the inviting spirit of the modern city amidst the well-preserved relics, natural wonders, and architectural pieces of the past. With friendly people and bustling activities around the corner, you’ll enjoy every minute of this experience.

2. Get lost with the crowd at Djemaa el Fna.

This large square that lies at heart of the old city is teeming with too many spectacles and surprises. From bargain shopping to snake charming, you’ll never have a dull moment in your Marrakech travel. Open your eyes to a lot of things, which include juggling acts, musical performances, as well as belly dancing. You don’t even have to worry about losing your way back to your hotel. As overwhelmingly large as it can be, the square offers a winding escape to interesting sites around the city.

3. Take a spiritual retreat.

They say that paying a visit to popular trails of mosques, churches, and other places of worship is a wonderful Marrakech travel experience that can be life-altering. However, for those who only wish to satisfy their curiosities, time is well-spent in admiring some of the most exquisite architectural designs in the world. You’ll be stunned how Marrakech was able to preserve the intricate details and premedieval style of these structures but much more, how it preserved its solemnity. The famous pilgrimage for the seven saints is also found in this city, while the Saadian tombs is highly recommended by most tourist guides.

4. Shop and explore its very best.

Popular market stands also known as souks offer the best treat for bargain shopping. The bazaar is usually filled with exotic finds such as metal works, wood pieces, baskets, and leather sets– some of which, you’ll only find in Morocco. You’ll also be advised not to end your Marrakech travel without a belt, jewelry, carpet, or any form of clothing that are found in the souk.

5. Take a journey to the past.

Marrakech is one of the best places to find age-old ceramics, paintings, mosaic, jewelries, and fabrics. Its museums house prestigious artifacts that date back to more than a thousand years. Manuscripts, contemporary arts, and traditional clothing are among the well-preserved collection. You may also take note in your Marrakech travel experience that museums here are not just brick-and-mortar structures but are also adorned with verdant gardens.

6. Stay in luxurious Riads in Marrakech.

Your Marrakech travel experience will not be complete without staying in the city’s famous Riads. These are residential facilities that top any 5-star hotel in modern cities. With luxurious rooms, overlooking views of the fountain, roof top terraces, and exquisite decorations, Riads are one of the best reasons to stay in Marrakech.

7. Experience the colorful tradition of Morocco.

Embrace the Moroccan culture through entertainment activities and festivals in Marrakech. The Popular Arts Festival is a good way to add more life to your Marrakech travel adventures. Have a great time with fortune-tellers, fire swallowers, and acting troupes in the culmination of this festivity. Apart from carnival spectacles, you’ll also witness the horse-riding parade known as Fantasia.

8. Treat yourself to fun-filled activities.

Popular streams of casinos, discos, and bars are found in the city. But remember, alcoholic drinks are not allowed. Chances are, you’ll have to stay sober all night. Apart from enjoying Western hits and Moroccan pop music, your Marrakech travel adventure can never be complete without experiencing a taste of its gourmet paradise. Most cafes and restaurants in Marrakech offer a fusion of flavors from home grown recipes to international dishes.
