Children with Separation Anxiety

Separation anxiety is relatively common. Separation anxiety can show up in various situations, such as:

Leaving kids at school or daycare.

Kids getting on the school bus.

Saying goodbye at the babysitter.Transition between households after divorce.

Going to bed upstairs when Mom & Dad are downstairs

The root cause of such anxiety is difficult to know with absolute certainty. However, we do know that a number of different circumstances can contribute to kids experiencing separation anxiety.

1. Increased general anxiety tends to contribute to separation anxiety.

If a child is going through a stressful time, which may be due to a change in schools, friendships, homes, parental functioning, or any other events that increases their overall anxiety; then this would be a time when they would be more vulnerable to separation anxiety.

2. The more overprotected…the more vulnerable.

When parents overprotect children, they have not been allowed to experience upsets without being rescued from those upsets. This is one of the hallmark features of the overprotectived child, and thus parents are unintentionally nurturing a weaker sense of self-esteem and self-confidence.

3. Parents who over-react to their children’s anxiety promote separation anxiety.

Some parents are highly sensitized to every emotional reaction of their child. When their child is upset, they tend to impute a level of emotional distress consistent with what an adult would feel. This is simply not accurate, and it leads to parents over-reacting to the slightest upsets on the part of their children.

4. Significant disruptions or fear around relationships with parents.

During times of separation and divorce, there may be legal or logistical reasons that produce a significant disruption in the relationship between a child and a parent. When children experience a sense of deep loss or fear of a permanent loss with a parent, they may begin to behave in compensating ways.

5. When parents let adult fear become their children’s fear.

When parents are afraid that their children can’t handle it, they often communicate this to their kids. They don’t do so directly…they do so with their own emotional reactions and the tone in their voice. They do it with the questions they ask. They do it with the way in which they keep endlessly probing and asking about a child’s experiences.

What parents can do about separation anxiety?

1) Don’t put your kids on medication.

I have seen this fail time and time again. This is not a situation where kids need medication. It is not the source of the problem.

It’s not that they are making up their emotions. It’s simply that they have come to believe that they can’t handle something…that they really can handle. Medication will only become a crutch, and their anxiety will ultimately intensify as the child’s environment is still working to reinforce their anxiety.

2) Get your child out of your emotions.

Make sure that your fears and worries have not become your child’s fears and worries. If you’re concerned about them going to school, or how they’re going to handle situations after a divorce, you have to deal with this fear and anxiety on your own.

Don’t bring these feelings into conversations with your children, because you’ll communicate that they have a reason to be afraid and worry.

3) Start believing… They can handle it!

This is a plain and simple fact. Your child can handle going to school. Your child can handle being left at daycare. Your child can handle going to Dad’s house…. or going back to Mom’s house.

Your kids can handle it. Keep that in your mind at all times. You will be amazed at how your actions and beliefs shape the underlying beliefs of your children. The more that you give them the confidence that they can handle something that they, in fact, must handle…. the more quickly their anxiety will disappear.

4) Make transitions short and sweet.

The most significant mistake you can make would be to have a lengthy goodbye. The second biggest mistake, which is similar, is to ask lots of preparatory questions and offer a huge explanation (over and over again) before a transition occurs.

Both of these are certain to lead to failure, as they communicate your sense of uncertainty about whether or not your child can handle this.

5) Don’t engage the (repeated) upsets.

Every daycare and elementary teacher knows this. When your child walks into the classroom and starts to sob, they ask you to leave and walk away with a quick goodbye. Within five minutes, all is well and life goes on.

That teacher has learned that they can’t keep giving lots of energy to the upset. If they do, the upset gets worse. Instead, they redirect your child to the other kids, and walk away.

These simple guidelines will help you stay on track. Follow them, and within a couple weeks…life will be much better. Most likely, the separation anxiety will be a thing of the past. If it persists, it may be necessary to seek professional guidance. You can learn more about this issue, and almost any parenting topic at www.TerrificParenting.com.

Advice on buying Bulgaria Property

Under Bulgarian law a foreigner cannot own land.

If you wish to buy land or a house with a plot in Bulgaria then you can circumvent this law by opening a Bulgarian company.

The land (and house) can be owned by this company and a foreigner can have outright ownership of the Bulgarian company.

The cost for setting up a company is relatively low (under 1000 Euros).

With new, off-plan developments it is not necessary to own part of the land or set up a company as buildings can be owned by foreigners.

Bulgarian Property hotspots

The Black Sea Coast

With a climate similar to northern Spain and golden sandy beaches aplenty, the Black Sea coast is a popular destination with holiday makers and property buyers alike.

Property prices along the coast have increased rapidly over the past 12 months and continue to do so.

However, 65,000 euros will still be enough for a one-bedroom apartment on the coastal strip of Sunny Beach, les in less popular resorts.

Sofia

Bulgaria’s capital is where those with an eye on making a profit will undoubtedly find themselves drawn.

New one-bedroom apartments can be bought from 55,000 euros, while on the city’s outskirts, prices are closer to 20,000 euros.

However, the cost of Sofia apartments are almost certain to rocket in the coming year, as the country moves closer to joining the EU.

Bulgaria Ski Resorts

About 30 per cent of Bulgaria’s territory is occupied by mountain areas. Of these, the Rhodope, Rila and Pirin mountain ranges all offer fantastic ski resorts between October and March, one of which could be in the running to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Prices of apartments in Bulgaria’s ski resorts vary from between 40,000 euros for one bedroom, to 75,000 for two bedrooms.

Plovdiv

The country’s second biggest city behind Sofia, Plovdiv has slowly started to generate a trickle of interest with British buyers.

Property prices are still extremely cheap - a two-bedroom house could cost as little as 15,000 euros - although rental potential is still limited.

Legal fees & costs of buying property in Bulgaria

Legal fees & costs on purchase price totals around 5

Notary expenses are approximately 2

Stamp duty of 2

Time scale for the entire process is around 30/40 days.

These guidelines are meant for guidance only and describe a straightforward purchase scenario. However this information is not meant to replace proper legal advice, which we always insist you take.

Traveler’s Cell Phone Etiquette

Many traveling cell phone users fail to remember to use proper cell phone etiquette while away from home. Cell phones have made it possible for people to stay in touch no matter where they happen to be in the world. While this has great advantages for cell phone users it can also be a means of irritating and annoying fellow travelers and locals. Failing to use proper cell phone etiquette may risk disclosing confidential information as well which can leave you victim to criminals.

Remember to always maintain a privacy range when using your cell phone. Step away from others so that you can have some privacy. Additionally, when someone near you answers their cell phone give them the same courtesy you would expect for yourself. Space yourself from other cell phone users during their conversations.

Keep your conversations non descriptive in means of personal matters including finance and don’t discuss matters of personal distress in public areas. You never know who is listening and a complaint of being lost or not knowing where to spend your money may alert criminals to your vulnerable situations.

Let the person you are speaking on the cell phone with know that you are on a cell phone and why the conversation must be kept at a minimal of disclosure. Better than talking at times may be to text message personal and confidential topics.

When in crowded areas always use your vibration mode as to not annoy others. What you may consider a cool ringtone might offend other people. Try being noise considerate.

Speaking of noise, try not to talk too loudly into your phone. A shouting cell phone user has got to be the number one annoyance in public. Remember if someone asks you to quiet it down, instead of arguing it is best to just wrap it up and talk later.

Keeping these practices during travel can help make cell phones not such a technology pest and possibly reduce the restrictions that more and more public places are putting on cell phone usage.

Way to Earn Extra Money Without Getting a Second Job

Many times, people want to earn a little extra money, but don’t want to have to get a second job. The truth is, there are quite a few ways to earn extra money, and many of them don’t even require you to leave the house! Here are a few ways you can easily earn some extra money each month, with just a little time and effort:

· Use eBay: If you go through your house, you can look for things you don’t use or want anymore, and sell it on eBay. Also, if you do any crafts, or make something others might like, you can sell that as well. You don’t even have to leave your house except to ship the item, and it can be done any time of day or night.

· Have a yard sale: Usually these are held on weekends, but you can get rid of anything you don’t want or need anymore, and make some quick money.

· Answer Surveys: There are many companies out there that are willing to pay you in cash or prizes to fill out surveys on the web. They can be filled out at your convenience, and you can end up getting a decent amount of money for it. While some only pay a little bit, other surveys are willing to pay a lot more!

· Mystery Shop: There are also many companies out there that will let you do mystery shopping. Here you will go to a store or restaurant and pose as a regular customer, but you will take a look around and watch how the store is run, and how the employees are. You will not only sometimes get a meal or product for free, but you will also end up getting paid as well. It’s not a way to make a huge amount of money, but it’s great to end up with a little extra cash, or a free meal every now and then.

As you can see, there are many ways to earn extra money without getting a second job. The best part is that most of these can be done on your own schedule, without having to set certain hours. While they will not bring in as much as your first income, they will definitely help pay the bills, or give you some extra money for whatever you need it for.

Crib Accessories

The most important purchase that will be made when it comes to a child’s bedroom is the crib. The crib will be what the centerpiece of the room and for this reason the crib’s accessories of the are just as important. Depending on the type of crib that purchased it may be required to buy some of the accessories separately.

The mobile is the most important purchase that parents can make. The mobile is the key piece to bring the room and the crib together in relation to the décor. If the crib purchased is plain, but a theme is desired, a mobile that goes along with the décor can tie everything together seamlessly.

Many mobiles will have characters from popular children’s books or movies dangling down to entertain the child. The mobile can be turned on to calm down a child that tends to get fussy around bedtime. Most mobiles do not merely move around in a circle; most also play music. The most common music played by mobiles are lullabies, the rhythm of which children can find comforting. While it is possible to find a mobile that comes with its own crib and works by remote, most of the time it will be necessary to purchase a mobile separately to hang over the crib.

Some children do not respond to a mobile as quickly as others do, so it is advisable to purchase another accessory just in case. A good accessory to have is a light for the crib. Crib lights are not like a nightlight. Instead, they cling to the side of the crib and provide lights in various shapes and colors that move around. These accessories often also play music and usually help with comforting the child, amusing the child until they fall asleep.

Bedding is also a necessary accessory for the crib. The softness bedding can add softness to the room makes it the ultimate accessory. It is advisable to purchase bedding for the crib that features the theme of the room imprinted in the fabric or otherwise falls within the theme. As tempting as it may be, all new parents should know that a new baby should never have any stuffed animals where they lay down, nor should they have a pillow. Anything of this nature could constrict airways, preventing the baby from sleeping safely through the night.

Are You Looking For Original and Authentic Sports Memorabilia

McFarlanes have been manufacturing action figures since the mid-nineties and have gained a worldwide reputation for their excellent sculpting, paintwork and detail.

Until 2001 they solely dealt with movie and fantasy related figures as well as some comic book figures.

The company’s founder, Todd McFarlane, is also the creator of the Spawn comic book character and so much of the companies initial products were based on the comic book characters and licenses they held as well as acquire licenses for other movie and comic book characters such as Freddy Krueger, Austin Powers and Chucky.

Despite this, or as well as this, it was really only a matter of time before the company would venture into the sports collectibles market as Todd McFarlane was already an established and well known collector of sports memorabilia.

And so after many months of painstaking negotiations McFarlane’s finally announced that their inaugural set of Sports Picks figures would be released in 2001.

This inaugural set of figures was for 6 NHL figures. Many fans, and collectors, were skeptical as to whether McFarlane’s could produce figures of the standard that fans would expect and demand at a reasonable price and in the standard 6 inch size.

But once fans and collectors saw the excellent quality of the sculpting and paintwork as well as care and attention to detail, including all the relevant logos and emblems on their kits, as well as other minute details they quickly became prized possessions for both fans and collectors.

The choice of hockey for their first series of Sports Picks figures was highly influenced by Todd McFarlane who is not only a huge hockey fan but also part owner of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team.

After the huge success of these, McFarlane’s managed to negotiate contracts for the remaining North American sports with its pinnacle being the announcement in Feb 2002 at the American International Toy Fair in New York that they would be producing Major League Baseball figures.

This announcement heralded a great personal triumph for Todd McFarlane as it gave him his fourth license in a top North American sport, after clinching contracts with the NFL, NBA and NHL.

Since their initial release back in 2001 McFarlane’s Sports Picks figures have gained a huge following with both collectors and fans due to their excellent detail and sculpting and as a result they have become the benchmark by which others are measured.

McFarlane’s have lovingly and carefully recreated some of America’s greatest sports personalities, including the likes of David Ortiz and Barry Bonds in the MLB, Wayne Gretzky and

Each of the individual lines also includes several different series general consisting of:

* A regular series- these are the regularly released figures, i.e. Series 1-19

* Legends- generally veteran players who have either retired or have been voted into the Hall of Fame

* Collectors Edition- Specially released and limited edition figures generally only sold through the Online Collectors Club

* Exclusives- These figure are generally event, stadium or exhibition exclusives only available at these specific places for a limited period or exclusive to a distributor or retailer such as Diamond Comics or Wal-Mart.

As a one time player and lifelong collector of sport memorabilia this has given Todd McFarlane the opportunity to use his company’s vast talents to produce figures that would be truly representative of the players and that fans, collectors and the player would be proud of.

Each 6 inch figure comes in its own classic McFarlane’s Sports Picks clamshell packaging, accessories and apparel and a custom base for its display.

Lines currently available in the McFarlanes Sports Picks series are:

* NBA Basketball
* NHL & NHPLA Hockey
* MLB Baseball
* NFL American Football

So, if you’re into sports and look for something other than cards to collect then these is probably just what you’re looking for.

How Forex Affects Us All

You may not be involved in Forex trading directly, but the fact remains that you are affected by what occurs in foreign exchange trading every day.

Here are some examples of how this constant flow of currency trading makes an impact on your daily life.

Perhaps the most obvious impact is that currency trading makes an impact on the price you pay for goods and services.

Should you happen to live in a country where the comparative value of your currency falls in comparison to that of other countries, you could find yourself paying a higher price for items that you are used to purchasing at a relatively inexpensive rate.

The reason is that the rate of exchange for imported goods would have changed and chances are the brunt of that change will be passed on to you, the consumer.

These goods may include anything from petroleum products to underwear.

Another way that changes in trading currency impact you is the simple ability to obtain goods and services.

A severe enough change in the rate of exchange could mean that it is no longer viable for certain types of business commerce to continue.

The result will be that you may find that some items that you are used to purchasing regularly will at first become much scarcer and carry a higher price tag, but ultimately no longer be available to you at all.

This will require you to change your spending habits and settle for other goods that you may consider being of lesser quality.

An extreme example would be if you were no longer able to get the imported car parts you need for your vehicle and had to turn to either generic replacements or used parts.

Your investments may also be impacted as well.

While the stock exchange is a totally different process from currency exchange, the fact of the matter is that they do impact one another.

Adverse changes in the rate of exchange can mean your stocks may slow down their process of earning money for you, especially if the stocks happen to be investments in retail companies or any entity that relies heavily on foreign trade.

Changes in your portfolio of course make a difference to your overall financial health, and may especially hurt if your stock portfolio happens to also be your form of retirement plan.

Many people do not give the trading of currency a second thought. Nevertheless, this process that is in a constant flow every day does reach out and touch the lives of each of us in some way. We may find ourselves paying higher prices for goods or services that we are used to enjoying.

In some cases, we may have to substitute for a lesser product, due to lack of availability. We may see our overall financial health impacted, even to the point of wondering about our future and retirement. Keeping up with Forex trading is a good idea for all of us.

It should be noted Forex trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors.

And then your parent may have notified authority’s or maybe you learned how to fight back. Mostly by ignoring them mentally or maybe taking a boxing class or a self-defense class like I did my self way back when.

Don’t wait for the experience. Be Aware .

Now that we are all adults we need to be ready, Prepare Things are much more serious these days, we all have families and business’s to consider.

Not to mention TERROR .
