Foods for Healthy Skin: What Vitamins and Minerals are Good for Your Skin?

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 10:13 am

When it comes to our skin, what we eat is very important. Skin is the biggest organ, and it deserves all the nutrition we can give it.

One the most critical elements of skin health is vitamin A, and one of the best sources of this vitamin is low-fat dairy products. As a matter of fact, the health of our skin depends on vitamin A. Low-fat yogurt is high in vitamin A. Other excellent sources of vitamin A include cod liver oil, carrots, leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes and fortified breakfast cereals.

You also need to eat foods rich in antioxidants, such as blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and plums. The benefits of these fruits for healthy skin are considerable. The antioxidants found in these fruits can protect the skin cells. As a result, there is less chance for damage.

This in turn protects against early aging and skin looks younger. Other fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants include artichokes, black, red, and pinto beans, pecans and prunes.

Essential fatty acids are vital to your skin. You should include salmon, walnuts, canola oil, and flax seed. Essential fatty acids keep cell membranes healthy, and allow nutrients to pass through.

We also need healthy oils. Eating good-quality oils helps keep skin lubricated and keeps it healthier overall. Try to find oils that are cold pressed, such as olive or extra virgin oil. Our bodies only need approximately 2 tablespoons a day of healthy oils.

Selenium plays a crucial role in the health of skin cells. Eat foods like whole-wheat bread, cereals, muffins, turkey, tuna and brazil nuts. Latest studies discovered that if selenium levels are high, even skin damaged by the sun will only suffer negligible harm.

Processed and refined sugars can instigate inflammation that may eventually lead to skin break outs. Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties, and it protects the membrane of the cell. Green tea also plays an important role in the prevention of skin cancer.

Water has an enormous effect on the health of your skin. Healthy and young-looking skin is also a well-hydrated skin.

In this Friday, June 21, 2002 file photo, visitors and residents spend the day on the beach in Belmar, N.J. Revelers in this Jersey shore party town can now legally drink from unregistered beer kegs and give people the finger. Belmar has scrapped laws relating to kegs and flipping the bird, on the grounds that they were difficult to enforce. (AP Photo/Brian Branch-Price)AP - After battling rowdy renters and out-of-control keggers for decades, this Jersey shore party town has finally decided to lighten up a little.

Acrylic Store Fixtures - The Basics

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 10:12 am

You’ve just landed the contract to design the interiors of a new chain of bric-a-brac retail stores and are now looking at various alternatives that you can suggest to your customer. After visiting a few well-known stores across town, you find that the most popular store fixtures seem to be in acrylic.

But why use acrylic? There are several distinct advantages that acrylic has over other materials:

• Durability: This is the main advantage. Basic store fittings will need to have a shelf life of at least a year - preferably more. They will also need to be safe against an elbow that knocks against them accidentally or a child that is attracted to a colorful display. In fact, in terms of durability, Acrylic is much longer lasting, especially when compared to lacquered or varnished hardwood.

• Lifetime Guarantee: Many acrylics come with a lifetime guarantee, thereby lowering your costs. You will also not have to keep too many spares to replace broken pieces.

• Strength: Acrylic looks deceptively fragile, but it can support a great deal of weight. In most stores, product size is not necessarily proportionate to weight. The same acrylic stands could be used to display something big and heavy as well as light or small. Acrylic also high-impact resistant.

• Flexibility: This is a wonderful quality that makes acrylic useful for any kind of display stand. It can be molded into any shape and have rounded or square corners.

• Optical Clarity: This quality makes acrylic suitable for all kinds of cases and stands. The transparency of the material will not detract from the items being displayed. They will also give the entire display a much ‘lighter’ and uncluttered feel. Plate glass has a dark green tint along the edge of the sheet, whereas acrylic sheets are clear.

• Lightness: The lightness of acrylic makes it easy to move display units around. They will also add minimal weight to the shelves on which the merchandise is being displayed.

• Duplicability: The flexibility of the material also makes it comparatively easy to duplicate standard pieces. A chain store needs to have standardized display units in all of its stores. Acrylic is the ideal material for this. If the store needs to expand, it will not be difficult to make additional display units to match the original ones. Acrylic has become a very popular material - so it is comparatively easy to get someone to make exactly what you want.

Disadvantages

Using acrylic for store fixtures has only one disadvantage:

• Scratch Resistant: This is the main disadvantage of acrylic - it scratches easier than glass. The way around this, however is to rub a good grade of paste wax into the acrylic. This will make the scratches ‘disappear’ and the stand will look as good as new!

There are 7 advantages to 1 disadvantage of using acrylic. This in itself speaks volumes about the suitability of acrylic for making display units. If you want to display your products to their maximum potential, use acrylic and you can’t go wrong.

Tim Pelcone consults with retail store owners to improve their merchandising effectiveness. In Sacramento he recommends Capitol Store Fixtures, www.csfixtures.com http://www.csfixtures.com , for the best selection in acrylic retail store displays.

Healthy Weight Loss Program: How to Choose the Right Foods

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 5:36 am

For thousands of years, our ancestors selected their daily meals from the bounty of the earth’s animal and vegetable harvests. The traditional diets of most human cultures consisted of an almost unlimited variety of ingredients and recipes.

Today, however, our food sources suffer from a lack of quality, diversity, and balance. Natural foods have been replaced with processed and synthetic foods, which have weakened our digestive systems resulting in poor nutrition to the cells, tissues, organs, and systems of our bodies.

To achieve peak performance in any activity requires your body to burn energy. Energy, then, is the byproduct of high performance fuel that will improve the quality of your life and make you healthier than you ever thought possible. In fact, the higher the energy level, the more efficient your body becomes. The more efficient your body becomes, the better you feel. And, the better you feel, the easier it is to achieve the results you are striving for.

So, what is this high performance fuel that will create this abundance of energy for our bodies to burn? The answer is simply the food we eat.

Good nutritional choices play a major role in a healthy weight loss plan. By making small, but effective changes in your daily food intake, you can begin feeling better and improving the quality of your life.

Nutritional science is so confusing and contradictory that to even begin to adapt a universal set of principles to your lifestyle would be nearly impossible. Nevertheless, there are specific key concepts of a well designed healthy weight loss program that include:

1. Making good food choices can be nutritious, enjoyable and energizing.
2. Dieting not only does not work, but can actually take years off your life.
3. Simple modifications in meal choices can reverse how we age.
4. The program is sensible and easy to maintain even when dining out.
5. Losing weight and body fat is achievable & sustainable without drastic alterations or limitations in your lifestyle.

The ideal weight loss program will take a balanced approach to nutrition. By incorporating medically sound and scientifically based research into a healthy plan, your program will not only be effective, but also easy to incorporate into your lifestyle. The two main components of the medically sound nutrition plan include:

* Macronutrient combination
* Stabile blood sugar

Macronutrient Combination

Through the prescribed combination of both macro- and micronutrients, the entire nutritional puzzle is solved. The macronutrients make up the vast bulk and balance of our diets and are found in whole foods. The micronutrients are found within the macronutrients and will be discussed in a supplemental article. The primary macronutrients found in our foods include:

* Proteins
* Carbohydrates
* Fats

Your understanding of each of these components and how you combine them in the foods you eat will determine how successful your overall outcome will be.

Protein:

Proteins contain amino acids, which are the building blocks of your body. Your body can utilize proteins to maintain immune strength as well as to build and repair muscle tissue. Simply put, the greater the muscle mass, the more calories your body will burn. Proteins also promote the release of glucagon, a powerful fat burning hormone.

How much protein should you eat and what are the best sources?

For each individual, the amount of protein may vary. In general, active individuals should consume at least one gram of protein per pound of body weight. A sustainable nutrition plan understands the importance of protein as it relates to muscle building and fat burning and will usually recommend meal plans that are 50% protein. We have found this combination to be the best at optimizing fat loss and losing weight.

When selecting protein sources, ideally, you want to opt for protein sources that are low in fat. Protein sources that are the most desirable include chicken, turkey, fish, whey protein and low fat soy and dairy products. Current studies have shown that incorporating these nourishing proteins in your daily nutritional regimen can help slow the ageing process and prolong your life. Because a greater protein intake is encouraged, proper hydration must also be maintained. For protein to be effectively broken down and utilized by our body, appropriate water intake is a must.

Carbohydrates:

Carbohydrates are an important source of energy for your body. Unfortunately, not all carbohydrates are created equal. Your body processes simple and complex carbohydrates differently. As a result, your energy level, mood, and metabolic processes are all influenced by your choice of carbohydrates.

Simple carbohydrates are the refined sugars. Common sweeteners such as honey, table sugar and brown sugar are considered simple sugars. What many people do not know is that alcohol, white bread, pasta, and fruit juice are also simple sugars. These foods when digested, are converted to glucose (sugar), and cause an immediate rise in your blood sugar level. With a spike in your sugar levels, insulin is released, which converts these excess sugars to fat.

Complex carbohydrates are eventually broken down into sugar, however, the process by which this occurs differs from simple carbohydrate break down. Complex carbohydrates assimilate into our system at a much slower rate. As a result, blood sugar stability is maintained and insulin levels remain at normal levels. Typically, complex carbohydrates are high in fiber, low in sugar and have a low glycemic index rating. Examples of high quality carbohydrates include broccoli, cauliflower, apples, oranges, whole grain breads, beans and sweet potatoes.

How much carbohydrate should you eat and what are the best sources?

The best sources of complex carbohydrates are raw, non-starchy vegetables and whole fruits. These foods are high in fiber, which is critical for elimination and stable blood sugar. In addition, complex carbohydrates are your best source of glucose, which is the only fuel your brain can burn. Complex carbohydrates are also involved in assisting the body in burning fat and antioxidants, necessary for disease prevention.

Recommendations on the amount of carbohydrates needed by the body will vary. For the most part, however, a healthy meal plan will usually recommend at least 1 cup of carbohydrates per meal. This should account for about 30% of your total food consumption

Essential Fats:

As Americans we consume almost 35% of our daily calories from fat. Most often this is saturated fat. Studies have shown that consuming a diet high in saturated fat can lead to heart disease and decreased immune function. In other words, consuming foods high in saturated fat will shorten your life.

An important point to remember is that consuming the right kind of fat can be beneficial in your attempt to manage your weight, and live an enhanced lifestyle. These fats and oils speed up metabolism, regulate your hormones, facilitate fat burning, and strengthen your immune system. Of particular importance is role essential fats and oils play in stabilizing blood sugar levels by slowing the emptying of the stomach. Essential fats provide you with:

* Concentrated energy
* Compounds needed for cellular metabolism
* Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, which aid in the burning of fat

How much essential fat should you eat and what are the best sources? Essential fats occur naturally and do not undergo any additional processing. Examples of foods that contain these valuable essential fats include fish such as salmon and tuna, raw nuts, avocados, flax seed oils and olive oil. The best sources of essential fats and oils come from plants. Most healthy weight loss plans recommend that no more than 20% of your diet come from fat. This translates to a minimum of 1 - 2 tablespoons of raw oil, or ¼ cup of raw seeds or nuts, or 1 - 2 tablespoons of raw nut butter per meal.

A solid healthy weight loss program will add years to your life and provide you with an abundance of energy.

Gym Love

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 5:36 am

The place is hot and steamy, pulsing with the beat of blaring music and gyrating bodies. You see her working it across the crowded floor, and you have to meet her. A brilliant idea: you’ll buy her a drink. But wait a second - that only works in night clubs, and you’re at a health club. So while you could send a 20 oz. Tropical Xtremo Gatorade her way, that probably won’t produce the intended result, no matter how important it is to replenish fluids during strenuous exercise. What do you do?

Gyms notoriously attract eye-catching people. There’s no greater concentration of sinewy muscles and tight, skimpy clothing anywhere… except maybe the adult thriller section of your local Blockbuster Video. Let’s face it, even the most average-looking gym-goer is fit and healthy, or at least will be in a few months. But while fitness clubs are a veritable bakery of available beefcakes and beefcakettes, they can actually be rather tricky places to meet people. Gyms are often chock full of cheesy pick-up artists with sleazy come-ons, or, on the other side, designer gear-wearing posers who walk around a whole lot and manage to lift very little.

But there has to be some way for normal people to meet other normal people at the gym, right? The simple answer is yes, but not without keeping several things in mind - especially if your idea of a good opening line is something like “Nice shoes, wanna french?”

Listen up, all you muscle-bound Casanovas out there: no matter how eager you are to begin the mating… er, dating process, you’ve got to scope out the scene. Some gyms are as flirty as all-you-can drink “body shot nite” at Club Med. Others, well, you’d probably have better luck cruising a Buddhist monastery. Look around. Are people talking… with each other… and not asking whether they can “work-in”? If that’s the case, fire up conversations at will (we’ll cover what to say shortly). But if the atmosphere is more businesslike, it’s probably best to keep minding your own. Unsolicited banter, no matter how witty, can stick out worse than a left elbow during assisted tricep dips.

Next, and most importantly: you can check someone out, just don’t freak them out. It’s one thing to sneak a peek while she’s sprawled on the stretching mat, but quite another to train your penetrating gaze on her (no matter how amazing her side crunch technique might be). Among the women I’ve spoken to, the consensus is clear. One or two quick glances, and maybe even a little smile, are flattering; prolonged staring, drooling, or high-fiving your equally lecherous friends, is not. Of course, even the strongest exhibit occasional weakness - if you absolutely can’t help it, use the gym’s mirrors for a far less detectable stare. (This technique can also give you a better view of, shall we say, the traditionally hidden parts of an alluring physique.)

You’ve spotted someone on the lat machine, you’ve used the mirror, and you like what you see. You’re ready to make your move, right? Hold on there, tough guy. The next step is recognizing her receptiveness. Just as exercise is a social experience, it can also be solitary and serious. Some people just want to get in and get out as quickly as possible. This is especially true at gyms where members squeeze workouts into hectic appointment schedules, or even before the workday begins. People probably aren’t looking for romance in the midst of the daily grind, and while your hormones might be awake at 6:00 a.m., it’s unlikely that someone who gets up while it’s still dark wants to meet anyone, aside from the coffee stand guy.

Same can be said of those who hit the gym after work - chances are they just want to exercise, go home, and eat a salad. If some meathead wearing zebra-print Zubaz pants impedes that progress, do you think he’ll get that number (the real one)? She might have caught your eye, but you can’t assume the feeling is mutual unless she sees you and smiles back. Even then, wait an extra minute, just to make sure she’s not there with her championship kick-boxer boyfriend, who’d be more than happy to use your face as a leather focus mitt.

When it comes to opening lines, we all have our stand-bys. But at the gym, inspired pick-ups like “Sagittarius, right?,” “I’m on the football team,” and “please don’t call the cops” might not work as well. True, women’s reactions vary, depending largely on delivery, making it tough to say what to say. But there are definitely techniques to avoid. Worst offender? The old “let me show you how to do that” maneuver. We’ve all seen this move in action, and might even be guilty of trying it (listen up, personal trainers). There’s nothing wrong with correcting someone’s form - unless it’s used as a pretext to ogle her body at close range, or, worse, place an “instructive” hand on it.

Most men don’t mind a stranger’s touch (and probably fantasize about it), but women like it about as much as filthy bathrooms, back hair, and spitting contests. Here’s something else they hate: guys who comment on how stretchy they are. Yes, women are flexible, and flexibility is awesome - just ask Emoke Ritter, world-famous Hungarian contortionist (you’ve never heard of her?). Women understand they can bend in ways that stir the male imagination - spare yourself the embarrassment of mentioning it.

The last thing a woman wants to hear from a stranger, unless you’re Leonardo DiCaprio, is “boy are you flexible.” Same goes for “great muscle tone,” “killer pecs,” or “nice ass.” Keep the focus off her body, at least out loud. Instead, comment on the book she’s reading or the music she’s listening to. Or simply ask what her name is. Talk a little. Work out a little. Established a rapport first, then you can show her the right way to do a shoulder press. Better yet, let her show you.

1) Is that a Detour bar in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

2) Nice Glutes.

3) I’d love to ask you out for a drink, but I’m on Atkins.

Online Payday Loan - For Fast Approved Easy Finance

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 12:49 am

Salaried people often do not have any income source other than their regular salary. Because of the dependency on the salary, they finish off the pay by the time the month has advanced a bit. So in case of some urgency or even for regular works they have to borrow. But fast approved loan is what they always look. This and other requirements are well met through online payday loan.

Online payday loan is called so because it is provided by online lenders. One of many advantages of online payday loan is that it is approved fast and the loan amount is in the hands of the borrower within 24 hours. Process of applying online is very simple. Every website of online payday loan provider has an online loan application. You fill some basic information like loan amount, purpose of the loan and personal details and with a click of the mouse the application reaches to the lender for processing. After confirming the information the loan is instantly approved.

Online payday loan is basically an unsecured loan as generally no collateral is offered by the borrower. Borrowed amount is so small that collateral becomes unnecessary. Still to secure the loan in other way the lender may ask for a post-dated cheque from the borrower. The cheque consists of borrowed amount and lender’s fee. At the repayment time, lender deposits the cheque in borrower’s bank to withdraw the loaned amount and the loan is paid back.

Other requirements to be fulfilled by the loan seeker include a bank statement, proof of monthly income and employment. This assures the lender about repayment capacity of the borrower.

An amount ranging from 100 to 1000 can easily be borrowed from online payday loan providers. Any greater loan will depend on high monthly income and good credit history of the borrower. A slight disadvantage is that the loan is of higher interest rate. This is because the loan is a short term loan and being unsecured the lender has certain risks. Higher interest rate should not bother the borrower as he can payoff the loan in say two weeks and does not carry the burden.

Before making an online payday loan deal, make sure to compare different loan packages on offer. This way you can arrive at a suitable package.

Online payday loan gives you an opportunity for taking a loan even if you have a bad credit history. Assure the lender about your repayment capacity and intention to pay back the loan and it is in your hands. Make sure that you pay off the loan in time to avoid higher interest and fee.

Using Cookware To Fight The Flab

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 12:49 am

It may be true that obesity is caused by a number of different things, but it is correspondingly true that eating superfluous fat contributes to the condition. This is something parents of young children in particular have to watch carefully.

It’s generally true that children like fried food, because this manner of cooking slightly caramelizes the food by burning natural sugars. In short, it makes it taste sweet. Grilling, which can be less of a problem, has a similar consequence, and so too does roasting.

But the real felon where fat consumption is concerned is frying, because the food often has fat added to it, the main purpose of which is to prevent meat from sticking to the pan it’s cooking in. Oils such as olive and peanut may seem healthier than, say, butter, but they are still fats and should still be viewed with suspicion.

However, one effective way to avoid this problem is to use non-stick cooking pots and pans and leave out the extra fat altogether.

Unfortunately this sort of cookware has received some bad press recently, which suggested that there is a danger to pets associated with its use. There has been much supposition that the death of caged birds has been linked to toxic fumes given off from heated non-stick surfaces.

While there may be some truth in this, it’s important to understand that these criticisms are aimed at Teflon coated surfaces in particular. There are lots of other non-stick surfaces available which have not had this type of criticism levelled at them. In fact the use of this type of cooking surface has now become so universal, it has led to a new style of healthy home cooking using those fashionable double-sided grills.

These are great because during cooking any grease cooked out of the meat runs away into a separate tray, and of course no added fat is necessary to properly cook the food.

This means that low fat cuts of meat such as chicken and loin of lamb remain just that, relatively fat free. This is a big plus not just for those of us fighting obesity, but for anyone who cares about having a healthy diet.

It’s very easy to cook with these grills, and this in itself may well encourage people to eat more home cooked food and less bought-in takeaways. In addition, both fish and meat cook very quickly, further assisting the busy family cook with little time to spare.

If the healthy living assertions don’t convince you to at least try using non-stick pans, perhaps the budgetary ones will. Most non-stick cookware makes use of aluminium, making it much cheaper to buy than the stainless steel or cast iron equivalents.

And just to make life even easier, a simple rinse in warm, soapy water is all that is called for to keep non-stick surfaces clean. Even the most over-weight of us can surely manage that.

Michael Sheridan is a chef and an acknowledged authority and published writer on cooking matters. His website at www.thecoolcook.com http://www.thecoolcook.com contains a wealth of information, hints, tips and recipes for busy home cooks.

Aimetta, an expert and coach who specializes in family-owned businesses and who has ample experience consulting for this type of company.

Al McClymont: Regarding the succession issue in a family-owned business, specifically the election of the successor, isn’t it possible that this can cause problems if someone feels excluded?

J.C. Aimetta: Well, at first glance I’d say yes, generally a solution brings with it a new problem.

The truth is that you can decide which problem to have: This one that will be generated right now, or the one that will be created in the future of a small company trying to be co-managed by three or four people, with the respective power struggle and the growth of internal bands among employees who are faithful to one or the other.

And another point is that the evaluation generally begins with oneself, with each family member in particular. Then, you can ask each family member: Do you feel qualified to work in the family business?

And it is in these meetings that one discovers that many sons and daughters admit that their life project is not related to the family business, but rather that they are safeguarding their father’s dream, and that when their father dies, they will probably choose to do what they always wanted to do.

If succession is presented as a competition, this never comes to light. But, if you present it as a personal, intimate question, liberating the person from the obligation of continuing with the business role, for it was not he/she who made the decision but the father, it is very likely that at least one or two of the people competing for power will spontaneously separate themselves or accept minor roles because they do not feel this is for them.

Al McClymont: What happens if the chosen successor is offered a better opportunity outside the company?

J.C. Aimetta: First of all, if the family business is managed as a business and not as a family, it should be expected that replacements are planned for.

Children are irreplaceable in a family; nobody brings a child into this world to replace another one.

But in a company, a manager can be replaced by someone else. If these two environments can be differentiated, this would be the most suitable recipe.

However, this is not common. When someone listens to a job offer outside the family business, we can assume that the opportunity represents something better than what they currently have.

It is very common that this extra benefit is not financial, but that instead it signifies an absence of problems, of displeasure.

That is to say, those who accept to manage what is not theirs instead of managing what is theirs, do this in order to free themselves from the stress and tension generated by the constant conflicts of the family.

Note how interesting this is, because this person leaves management but stays on as an owner. In other words, this person decides to dedicate their talent to administer something that is not theirs, and chooses someone else to manage what is theirs.

This is not the same as someone who abandons ownership, who sells their share… this family member abandons the job but retains ownership.

Most likely they have lost interest.

Another reason they may lose interest is simply that the pay is too low. Thus, they think to themselves, “I am earning 10 here, and I will earn 25 there. But, apart from the 10 I am earning here, I am making this company grow. This company has grown 80% in the last few years. And I am keeping 1/4 or 1/3 of the increase in family patrimony (according to the number of siblings). This is not in my best interest.”

In the next part of this interview, we’ll talk about how much family members who work in a family-owned business should earn.

Getting to Know your Bloodhound

Filed under: Uncategorized — topmodel @ 3:02 pm

Getting to know your dog starts by getting to know its breed. At Kingdom of Pets, we keep a large database of detailed information on the appearance, personality, and health requirements of individual dog breeds. Here’s what you need to know about Bloodhounds:

Bloodhounds are traditionally known for their work in trailing escaped prisoners. However, in today’s world, we also see this breed used for trailing lost people in the mountains, someone kidnapped, a child separated from a family, and so on. Considered a cousin of the Scent Hound, the Bloodhound is a dog of patience, tolerance, friendliness, and an easy-going attitude. What amazes people most is that when it comes to choosing a dog for children, the Bloodhound is truly an exceptional choice.

The only drawback to owning a Bloodhound is that the breed is considered a little on the messy side. With a long tongue that laps up water, they tend to splash and even drool. Sometimes called a St. Hubert Hound, this large breed dog has an unrivaled ability of scent, often used for finding humans in collapsed buildings, hurricanes, and other natural disaster situations. Many times, the Bloodhound is called a “Gentle Giant,” as a term of endearment that certainly fits.

Physical Appearance

The Bloodhound breed usually weighs as much as 110 pounds although they can be somewhat smaller, between 80 and 90 pounds. From the withers, this breed is between 23 and 27 inches tall with a beautiful smooth coat. In addition to being recognized by the American Kennel Club, this breed is also recognized under the FCI, UKC, NCA, and many others. As far as colors, the following are acceptable.

* Black and Tan
* Liver and Tan
* Red

Temperament and Personality

Different from common belief, the Bloodhound is very cheerful, mellow, and affectionate. The one aspect of owning this breed you need to remember is that Bloodhounds can be a little difficult to train, but if you put in the time, you will end up with a great all-around dog.

Without doubt, a Bloodhound is loyal to his master. In fact, when away from the owner, a Bloodhound has been known to become depressed, actually showing signs of mourning. As far as a family pet, this breed is one of the best, with a gentle spirit, even temper, and affectionate nature.

Health

Typically, a Bloodhound can live between 10 and 12 years. Because this breed is large, they are prone to developing Hip Dysplasia. Other than this, proper care with diet and exercise should keep this breed happy and healthy.
